In an instant, cold sweat broke out like fine raindrops along my spine, soaking my back and clinging my shirt tightly to my skin, making me feel extremely uncomfortable.
I felt as if I had fallen deep into an ice cellar, my entire body chilled, trembling involuntarily, my teeth lightly chattering.
My facial muscles twitched uncontrollably, as if an invisible hand had squeezed me hard.
I struggled to swallow, my throat feeling as if something was lodged in it. Then, with a trembling voice, I asked Liu Yan, "What are you saying? I can't understand."
My eyes were filled with terror and confusion as I stared at her intently, trying to find a hint of jest on her face, but her serious expression only made my heart sink further.
A strange smile appeared on Liu Yan's face, a grin that flickered like a ghostly light in the darkness, sending chills down my spine.
She slightly raised her head, her gaze fixed on me as she spoke slowly and coldly, "You think that was a dream, but it was a real event happening right before your eyes!"
Her voice echoed in the silent space, each word piercing through me like a sharp knife.
My body felt as if it had been struck by a powerful electric current, jolting me awake—what? Wasn't what happened last night just a fleeting dream? But it truly happened...
I widened my eyes in disbelief, my body starting to tremble violently. My hands unconsciously clenched into fists, nails digging deep into my palms; yet I felt no pain—only endless panic and fear.
Liu Yan continued cruelly, her eyes revealing a hint of indifference and determination: "You thought I would fall asleep after taking sleeping pills? In fact, I just kept them under my tongue. While you weren't paying attention, I slipped the pills I've been saving into your teacup. When you were in a daze, I entered your duty room and did what you thought was just a dream."
Her words were clear and methodical, her tone calm and steady—far from that of a madwoman.
"You should know what the consequences would be if a doctor did something like this with his patient, right? I've preserved those fluids that flowed from your body into mine last night in my own way. You should understand what I mean."
She lifted her chin slightly, as if declaring her victory, and that expression sent a chill up my spine.
I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me, as if I had been struck hard. I knew the implications; this would ruin any chance I had of continuing my career as a doctor.
I stumbled back a step, my body swaying slightly, and asked in disbelief, "Why are you doing this to me?"
My voice carried a hint of anger and helplessness, my gaze filled with questions directed at her.
"I want you to take me out! I just want to see one person outside and ask him if he still loves me! Just for one day, on my birthday!" She spoke each word deliberately, as if squeezing them out through clenched teeth, resolute!
Her eyes sparkled with determination, her hands clenched into fists, her body leaning slightly forward, showcasing her unwavering resolve.
It seemed I had no other choice.
To be honest, I had always had feelings for Liu Yan, but now her actions made her seem like a Viper of a woman.
She had meticulously crafted a trap for me to fall into, leaving me with no way to escape.
The reason she chose me was that only I had the key to the elevator at night; only I could take her out for a day without anyone noticing.
I sighed helplessly, my eyes filled with frustration and despair, my shoulders slumping as if all my strength had been drained away.
Two days later, it was my turn to be on duty again, and that day was Liu Yan's birthday. I had to make a move.
In fact, taking her out was an easy task for me. As soon as I arrived at work, I greeted the guard MR.Wang with a big smile and invited him for a drink.
I poured wine into MR.Wang's glass with great enthusiasm, showering him with flattery. After just a few drinks, he became tipsy, his eyes glazed over, and his body swayed unsteadily.
Then I quickly found a female nurse's uniform for Liu Yan to wear. Once she donned the outfit and adjusted it slightly, I confidently led her out of the seemingly heavily guarded Dandelion Hospital.
Who would suspect that a woman in a nurse's uniform could be a mental patient? I walked with feigned calmness, but my heart raced like a drum, my palms sweaty, and my eyes darted around cautiously.
Once we were outside the hospital gates, I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. I asked Liu Yan where we should go. She pointed to a building not far from the hospital and said, "There’s a red POLO parked in space 44 of the underground parking lot in that building. The car keys are under the base of the trash can on the left side of the car. Go get it and pick me up."
The corners of her mouth lifted slightly, as if she felt pleased with how smoothly her plan was unfolding.
I was curious about how she managed to leave a car there. How did she know I could drive?
