"Even someone as strong as Victor has been captured, hasn't he?"
The system replied, "Humans are in trouble now. This web of traps makes it incredibly difficult to rescue them. He is just an ordinary person; how could he possibly break through such heavy encirclement and save both of them?"
Xia Yangyang lowered her head, and after a long pause, she spoke in a hoarse voice, "No, there is a way. No matter how many traps they set, they wouldn't expect there to be two Victors in this world."
The system was taken aback. "What?"
"Right, and there's Shadow Shift," Xia Yangyang gritted her teeth. "All I need to do is retrieve Ian, free Victor, and return the Heart of the Ocean to the sea."
She knew clearly that without Ian as a key factor, humanity would no longer be able to contend with the Ocean Monarch.
Xia Yangyang pulled the Lanternfish and swam northward, but unexpectedly, the Lanternfish suddenly refused to obey and swam straight south instead.
After struggling with the fish for a while, Xia Yangyang was drenched in sweat. "Let's try another one; this fish must be stupid."
The system did not respond, but she suddenly gasped. "Host, look down."
A fleeting image of a swaying pocket watch flashed through her mind, and an ominous feeling began to swell within her.
She looked beneath her feet; the underwater world had fallen into an eerie silence without her noticing. Countless marine creatures were swimming southward together as if they were hypnotized by some mysterious force.
Gazing towards the distant south, she could make out the silhouette of a towering underwater mountain range faintly visible in the dark waters. The system suddenly blared an alarm: "World Collapse Crisis triggered. Host must initiate rescue immediately!"
"What exactly is on that mountain?"
"That's not a mountain; it's a Torpedo capable of destroying the entire underwater dominion."
Xia Yangyang's eyes widened slowly. "Who set it off? Humans? Are they insane?"
"Without the underwater world, human civilization would perish. That's not the issue. The problem is that along the human coastal defenses, Victor has already planted explosives throughout the entire continental dam."
Xia Yangyang's eyes grew even wider. "He's gone mad too."
Suddenly, a scene flashed in her mind: a month ago, Victor had held Ian in his arms, giving her a meaningful cold smile, saying he wanted her to watch as the ocean submerged the land.
"So when he said 'submerge,' he meant destroying the human dam. Once the Torpedo explodes, the explosives on the dam will detonate in sequence, causing it to collapse. The ocean will flood the land, and both will face utter disaster. This cannot happen; we must stop the team from advancing."
"If the team doesn't reach it, then humans won't press the detonation button, and there will still be room for maneuver. But my strength alone is like a drop in the ocean; how can I stop this?"
Xia Yangyang furrowed her brow tightly when suddenly, with a sharp "whoosh," a whip sliced through the air and wrapped around her neck, pulling her backward uncontrollably.
"Now I understand why Victor is so relentless in pursuing you—it's a tangled web of love and hate; I underestimated you!"
As Xia Yangyang saw Black Witch approaching gracefully, she was initially startled but then her eyes lit up—she hadn't been hypnotized!
Black Witch crouched down, her disdainful gaze finally tinged with seriousness. "What are you laughing at?"
Despite being captured, Xia Yangyang showed no signs of the expected panic, which greatly displeased the Black Witch. "Aren't you afraid I might turn you into an ugly sea creature?"
"The hero who saves both land and sea stands before me; I couldn't be happier. With your esteemed reputation and magical abilities, who else is more suited to be the savior in this situation?"
"Ha, what are you even talking about?" The ethereal and mournful call of the Blue Whale drew the Black Witch's attention to the ground below.
Her gaze followed the strange long line extending towards the deep blue mountains.
"This... this is a human Torpedo."
The Black Witch looked at Xia Yangyang with a complex expression, prompting Xia Yangyang to hurriedly share all the information he currently knew.
