The two of them slowly walked to a inconspicuous corner. Although there were still some strange glances, the tall potted plants provided Daphne with a sense of security.
She and her brother quietly discussed the arrangement of the banquet. Daphne learned that the banquet hall at Josie's home was not only on the first floor. However, people staying on the second floor usually discussed more important matters, and ordinary guests would not easily go upstairs.
“Then why is big brother coming to the first floor?” Daphne was puzzled, in her understanding, Miller should be going upstairs now.
Miller lightly chuckled and pinched her cheek, asking her, “Does Flora want me to work myself to death? Do you always see me as working in your eyes?”
Daphne nodded as she looked at him.
Miller smiled and said, "Actually, you're not wrong. I do have to go upstairs in a bit."
Daphne blinked and asked, "Should I go up with you too?"
"Stay down here and play by yourself, Josie's home Master and the others have prepared some different flavors of blood plasma. Trying some other pastries might bring a surprise."
Brother said so, then there is no room for maneuvering. Daphne frowned. Miller put his arm around her and patted her shoulder soothingly.
"Erguotou After marrying me, I will take you wherever you want to go," he said softly.
As soon as he mentioned marriage, Daphne couldn't help but pinch his waist and mutter, "You big villain, then I'd rather you not take me with you."
"Flora, some things can't be said casually." Miller narrowed his eyes dangerously and slowly rubbed his finger on Daphne's mouth. "Otherwise, brother will lock you up."
Daphne shivered and stuck out her tongue.
Because his sister didn't want him to leave too soon, Miller kindly stayed by her side, taking her to try out the new flavors developed by Josie's home.
Daphne pinched the small cake and gently took a bite of the cream on top, her eyes widened in surprise: "It's actually sweet!"
"Do you like it?" Miller asked gently as he looked at her.
Daphne tugged at her brother's sleeve and shook it, saying, "I want to have sweet cakes at home in the future too..."
"Okay, after I finish talking, I'll buy their recipe from josie."
Healed by delicious cakes and cookies, Daphne was moved by her brother's generosity and decided not to be mad at him anymore.
The lights suddenly dimmed, and the conversation in the hall gradually quieted until all the voices completely disappeared.
Daphne didn't know what was happening and instinctively grabbed her brother's arm, looking at his face, only to see Miller looking in one direction.
She followed her brother's gaze and saw a tall man emerging from the dimly lit corridor onto a lavishly decorated inner platform on the second floor. He appeared to be in his early twenties, dressed in luxurious and eye-catching attire, clearly the host of tonight's banquet and the master of Josie's home.
Leaning lazily on the railing of the inner platform with both arms, the master of Josie's home was far from the dignified and serious middle-aged man that Daphne had imagined.
"Is that Josie over there, big brother?"
"Yes," Miller nodded, holding her hand. "His speech shouldn't be too long. You can have two pieces of cake at the back, and then it should be over."
Daphne hesitated as she held the cake in her hand, "Is this... not a good idea?"
"It's okay, you can just stay behind this potted plant, he won't see you," Miller waved his hand nonchalantly, "Even if he hears you eating, he won't bother you."
So Daphne really hid behind the potted plant, nibbling on pastries like a little hamster. The host of Josie's home seemed like a very annoying person. He recited some empty words from the script, and as soon as Daphne didn't even finish a cookie, he stopped the speech and announced the start of the dance party.
"Dance party?"
The hall suddenly lit up again, and soothing music began to play from the corner. Daphne just realized that a space had been cleared in the center of the hall, apparently intended for dancing. "What a pity."
Miller looked at the man and woman walking slowly to the open space and suddenly sighed. For some reason, Daphne felt a hint of schadenfreude in his tone.
She looked at her brother in confusion and asked, "What's a pity?"
"Unfortunately, Daphne hasn't learned to dance yet," he said, turning his face in another direction towards the person walking towards them, and smiling slightly.
"Do you think so, Lord William? That's really a pity."
