At that moment, many ghosts had already pounced on Hu Fang and Li Zhisheng, and even if it wasn't to save me, I had to save them. Seeing that there was no other choice, I closed my eyes and surrendered my body to the voice in my mind. 0

Just as I completely relaxed, a surge of power suddenly emerged, even stronger than when I was uninjured; however, I had completely lost control over my own body. 0

"Ah!" A scream from Hu Fang suddenly pierced through the air. At the same time, I opened my eyes and slammed my left hand down onto the ground. My body spun around, shaking off the ghosts clinging to me, and I stood up. Looking over, I saw that Hu Fang had been knocked to the ground by a Vengeful Spirit. 0

Panic surged within me as I wanted to rush to her aid, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't move my feet. Instead, I calmly raised my left hand and extended my palm, gathering power into it. When the energy concentrated at a single point in my palm, a powerful suction force suddenly erupted. 0

The ghosts shrieked in terror at this sight and began to flee in all directions. But it was too late; the suction grew stronger and stronger, pulling in one Vengeful Spirit after another. With each spirit absorbed, I felt my own strength increasing. 0

In an instant, hundreds of Vengeful Spirits were completely consumed. Seeing that the two beside me seemed unharmed eased my worries significantly. Just when I thought it was over, I turned around to find that the ghostly creature was still standing there, staring blankly at me. 0

"With this much ghostly power absorbed, killing it should be easy," I thought triumphantly. But then the voice in my mind said, "I've only just awakened; my strength hasn't even recovered to one-tenth yet. I can't guarantee victory." Before I could react to this shocking revelation, I charged forward with my sword drawn. 0

The creature noticed that I seemed to have regained some combat ability and revealed a strange smile. It roared at me and swung its fist in my direction. As its fist approached, I made no attempt to dodge; instead, I swiftly raised my right hand and slashed horizontally with my sword. Then, switching the sword to my left hand, I struck upward from below again. The black sword energy instantly spread across its fist, slicing it into four pieces. 0

All of this happened in one fluid motion; the speed was so quick that even I didn't fully register what had occurred. The creature realized its attack had missed and raised its other hand for another strike. However, just as it lifted its hand, I leaped high into the air before it and brought my sword down upon it. 0

The creature reacted quickly; just as my sword was about to land, it stepped back a moment too late for me to hit anything but air. Looking up again, its fist was already rushing toward me with a gust of wind behind it. With no way to evade, I raised my sword to block it. This time, I felt a significant difference in strength compared to when I had blocked its previous attack. If it hadn't underestimated me earlier, I might have already met my end. 0

Just as fear gripped me internally, its fist suddenly opened wide as if trying to grab me. I hurriedly jumped back several steps to avoid it but realized too late that it had anticipated this move; its hand clenched into a fist again and lunged at me. At the same time, another newly grown hand also formed a fist above its head, readying itself for a follow-up punch if needed. 0

In that life-and-death moment, an unexpected smile crept onto my face. Just as that massive fist was about to make contact with me, I rolled sideways just in time; a fierce wind rushed past me and obliterated a nearby building into rubble. Seizing the moment before its second punch could land, I quickly got up and stood with both hands gripping my sword tightly. Then with a powerful kick backward from my right leg, my entire body shot forward close to the ground. 0

Before the creature could react, I had already dashed beneath it; however, it had no time for defense as its other hand swung down hard against the ground with such force that the earth trembled and debris flew everywhere. 0

I planted my feet firmly on the ground while gripping tightly onto Jiang Ling, channeling all the power from the absorbed Vengeful Spirits into the blade. The entire sword emanated an ink-like black aura; even the dragon on the hilt turned dark red from absorbing so much blood energy and radiated an intimidating crimson light. 0

I lowered myself and then used all my strength to launch upward. The creature seemed completely unprepared for me to counterattack while it was fully committed to its strike. This blow utilized half of what power I could muster; in my mind, I thought, "This time you must die!" 0

"Yes... it's not dead yet..." The voice echoed again in surprise as I watched the creature split in half slowly disintegrating into dust before me while every nerve in my body remained taut and ready for action. 0

I stared intently at the vanishing figure of the Yao, a sense of fear creeping into my heart. This fear did not stem from shock or the unknown, but rather from the overwhelming strength of my opponent. 0

Just as that massive form completely disappeared, a silhouette resembling my own emerged from the dust. A gust of wind swept through, revealing what appeared to be a humanoid figure. In the moonlight, I could vaguely see that it was covered in brown scales, as if clad in armor. 0

"Could it be that this is the true Yao?!" Just as I pondered this, my body launched an attack without any warning. However, this strike was not infused with much power; it felt more like a test of my opponent's depth. Even so, it was far stronger than any previous blow I had delivered. 0

The creature before me showed no intention of dodging. As I swung my sword towards it, it effortlessly blocked my attack with just one hand. 0

This shocked not only me but even the Void Spirit within me seemed taken aback. In an instant, it unleashed a punch at an invisible speed, striking me hard in the stomach and sending me flying several dozen meters, crashing heavily against the wall. 0

I struggled to rise from the ground, blood trickling from the corner of my mouth. At that moment, I could no longer control the trembling within me. "If it weren't for the Void Spirit, that punch would have likely shattered me." Yet the Void Spirit reassured me, "Don't be afraid; we can win!" 0

With that thought in mind, I gripped Jiang Ling tightly and poured all my remaining strength into the sword. To my astonishment, it began to shift from black to deep red, and the dragon on the hilt gradually coiled around the blade. 0

"Shen Xu, listen carefully: if this next strike fails, we will both perish here. You must concentrate so I can unleash as much power as possible." I dared not think further; to defeat this enemy before me, I had no choice but to follow its orders. 0

The scaled Yao opposite me seemed to grow impatient for some reason. It appeared unwilling to play games any longer and aimed for a quick resolution. With incredible speed, it lunged toward me while I leaped into the air to evade its charge. 0

However, the Yao was clever; seeing me jump up, it did not rush after me but instead dashed beneath me and slammed its fist into the ground. Instantly, a violent gust of wind surged upward, sending debris flying and knocking me down from mid-air. 0

As soon as I hit the ground and struggled to regain my footing, it burst forth from the swirling dust and aimed a punch directly at my face. Clearly, it had no intention of giving me any respite. 0

I let out a grunt as I was sent flying once more. But as I soared backward, I noticed the eastern sky gradually brightening. For some reason, witnessing the rising sun ignited a spark of hope within me. 0

The Yao shrieked madly at the sight of sunlight but did not relent in its assault. In an instant, it caught up with me and delivered a powerful kick to my back, propelling me into the air while blood erupted from my mouth. 0

The Yao seemed determined not to let up; it leaped up above me with its fists raised high for a final strike. At that critical moment, a beam of morning light shone upon its scaled armor, causing white smoke to billow forth. It screamed in agony and lost its balance, tumbling downward. 0

Seeing my chance, I quickly flipped in mid-air and gripped my sword tightly once more. Jiang Ling glimmered brilliantly under the sun's rays. 0

As soon as the Spirit landed, I followed closely behind and thrust the glowing sword in my hand deep into its body. The moment the blade pierced, it transformed into a red dragon that coiled tightly around it. 0

Amidst a series of anguished wails, the Spirit gradually turned into a white light and vanished into the air. Meanwhile, the Void Spirit within me also fell back into slumber due to overexertion. As my body began to recover, a strong burning sensation surged in my chest, followed by an overwhelming weakness that caused me to collapse to the ground. 0

When I opened my eyes again, I saw Hu Fang and Li Zhisheng calling my name anxiously from beside me. "I'm still alive, please stop shaking me!" I struggled to get up, but my hands felt too weak to support me, and I fell back down once more. 0

Seeing this, Li Zhisheng hurriedly helped me up. "Can you move?" I weakly shook my head and stammered, "Do I... look like I can move... right now?" Noticing my frailty, Li Zhisheng didn't hesitate; he picked me up and started running, with Hu Fang anxiously following behind. 0

Before long, he carried me down the mountain. The two of them carefully placed me in the car and found the keys on me. Li Zhisheng drove us toward the nearest city while Hu Fang sat in the back seat, worried that I might fall asleep. He kept talking to me, "You mustn't sleep! If you do, you'll die! How about we sing a song instead..." 0

I thought to myself, "This isn't a mountain disaster or being trapped in the snow; you're being overly dramatic." Despite these thoughts, I remained silent and lay quietly in the back seat. 0

Sunlight streamed through the car window, warming my body pleasantly. Before long, I lost control and fell into a deep sleep. 0
