"According to you, there are eight others with powers equal to mine?" Wang Po said, gently touching the towel on my head, which was already warm. She took it off and placed it in a basin nearby. "I can't say for sure if they have the same power as you, but there are definitely individuals whose abilities surpass yours, and Gu Kai is likely one of them." 0

Wang Po rubbed the towel and continued, "The reason I say 'likely' is that I noticed he didn't use the power of the Void Spirit when fighting your friend, so I'm not certain it was him. However, the malevolent energy emanating from him suggests that he not only refrained from using the Void Spirit but was actively suppressing his own strength." 0

Upon hearing this, I felt a tightening in my chest. "In other words, Gu Kai managed to withstand the Soul Burial attack without fully unleashing his own power, and he even toyed with Soul Burial. No wonder the Death Apostle feels such intense fear towards Gu Kai. In contrast, I have to rely on this so-called Hatred power just to compete..." 0

The thought of potentially clashing with Gu Kai in the future sent chills down my spine. "Is there really no way to stop him?" I muttered to myself. 0

Wang Po, hearing this, placed the now-cooled towel back on my forehead and stared intently at me. "Not necessarily. With his strength, if he truly wanted to eliminate us, it would be as easy as crushing an ant. He could easily turn this village to ashes in an instant, yet he hasn't done so..." 0

After a moment of contemplation, Wang Po added, "I believe he has ulterior motives, and you might be a part of them." 0

"As long as he threatens my friends' lives or any innocent people, regardless of his intentions, I will do everything in my power to stop him!" I clenched my fists tightly. 0

"Wang Po, we're back!" Hu Fang's voice suddenly came from outside. "You should lie down; I'll go check..." With that, Wang Po stood up and left the room. 0

Before long, hurried footsteps echoed outside the door. Hu Fang appeared at the entrance with a worried expression. When she saw me lying on the bed without serious injuries, she let out a sigh of relief. 0

She strode over to my bedside and exclaimed, "You fainted and slept for three hours! I was so worried! At first, I wanted to take you to the hospital, but Wang Po said your Void Spirit was unstable and it would be best to stay here for observation. We had no choice but to stay with you. Just yesterday Wang Po said if you didn't wake up today, it could be dangerous for you... I..." Her eyes glistened with unshed tears. 0

At that moment, Li Zhisheng and Meng Zhuang entered from outside. Meng Zhuang walked up to me and began slapping himself hard across the face. Hu Fang and I exchanged bewildered glances at his actions. 0

Meng Zhuang continued hitting himself while saying, "It's all my fault! If only I'd let you stay at my house instead... it's all my fault..." He hit himself harder with each word. Fearing he might knock out his own teeth, I shouted at Li Zhisheng, "Hey! Li Zhisheng! Stop him before he gets addicted!" 0

Li Zhisheng shrugged beside me. "On our way back just now, Meng Zhuang told me that if you woke up, he'd apologize in front of you and insisted that I shouldn't stop him." 0

Hu Fang's heart softened upon seeing Meng Zhuang hitting himself too hard; she couldn't bear it anymore and quickly intervened. As soon as Meng Zhuang lowered his hands, I noticed his cheeks were already red and swollen—he looked like he had two apples stuffed in his mouth. 0

I burst out laughing and said, "Da Zhuang, you're too straightforward. Who hits themselves that hard? Hurry up and use the towel on my head to help him out." 0

Hu Fang chuckled as he took the towel from my head, wet it with cold water, and handed it to Meng Zhuang. "This isn't your fault; why put yourself through this?" 0

Meng Zhuang pressed the towel against his face, feeling a bit guilty. "If I had insisted that you all stay at my house, maybe you wouldn't have been in danger." 0

I stifled a laugh and replied, "If we had stayed at your house, the danger might not have just been for the three of us; even your family could have been in trouble. So it was right not to let us go to your place. Don't blame yourself anymore." Meng Zhuang nodded silently in response. 0

Then I turned to Li Zhisheng, putting away my playful expression and asked, "How are you doing? Is there anything unusual with your body?" I glanced at the wound on his chest where I had stabbed him; through the hole in his shirt, I saw that the injury had completely healed. 0

He rolled up his sleeve to show me the mark on his hand and said, "I don't know why, but I can't feel the growth of this mark anymore. It seems that the Soul Burial inside me has been suppressed. However, judging by how my wound has healed, Soul Burial should still be within me. But strangely..." 0

At this point, Li Zhisheng fell into deep thought. I recalled the scene from Gui Tian Village when we killed the Demon Sorcerer and said, "Could it be that you can sense the power of Soul Burial, but it has lost its aggressiveness and stopped invading your body?" 0

He nodded. "Exactly! But that's not all. For some reason, I can now freely control the power of Soul Burial as if I've swallowed it." Li Zhisheng extended his finger, and a small Black Sphere slowly appeared at the tip of his finger. He then tossed the Black Sphere onto the ground. 0

With a loud bang like a gunshot, a hole slightly larger than a fist appeared in the concrete floor. 0

Hu Fang and Meng Zhuang jumped in surprise and scolded Li Zhisheng. But that loud sound suddenly enlightened me: "I understand why two souls are needed to implant Soul Burial!" 0

Li Zhisheng was initially startled but quickly asked, "How did you know? Look!" 0

I gathered my thoughts and explained, "The name of your Soul Burial was 'burial,' but now that I think about it, Soul Burial actually refers to two things: one is burial itself, which is the source of power. The soul is the true essence of Soul Burial." 0

"Considering how Soul Burial is created: after an Evil Spirit is sealed, living sacrifices must be made periodically. These sacrifices inject power into the soul, which is part of creating the burial process..." 0

Li Zhisheng listened and began to understand. He picked up where I left off: "So after formation, it divides into burial and soul. Because the accumulated power of burial is too strong, merging it with a single soul at once could lead to rejection or collapse. Therefore, we need to merge my two souls separately with burial and soul. The two merged souls will automatically combine into one; this remaining one is the final Soul Burial." 0

"What's been eliminated by you is precisely the essence of Soul Burial that has already fused with my soul. That's why I can use the power of burial without being consumed by the soul, right?" 0

I nodded in agreement. "Yes, that should be the case. Otherwise, why would you be able to freely use your powers now..." I said this, but deep down, I still harbored some concerns. 0

After listening to my conversation with Li Zhisheng, Hu Fang seemed a bit unhappy. She muttered softly, "You all have these strange powers, but I don't... I'm just a burden..." 0

Since I was closer to her, I heard her murmuring and comforted her, saying, "Hu Fang, you need to understand that while this power can make us stronger, it also brings us closer to danger. Honestly, I wish I had never possessed it..." 0

I paused for a moment, thought about it, and continued, "If I ever get the chance to rid myself of this power, I'll definitely get rid of this Demonic Mark at the first opportunity. Then we can all return to our normal lives." 0

Li Zhisheng chimed in to comfort Hu Fang, saying, "Exactly. Our initial purpose for coming here was to remove my Soul Burial, right? It just so happened that things turned out this way; I didn't want it either." 0

However, Hu Fang didn't seem reassured by our words; instead, she appeared even more melancholic. 0

For a moment, both Li Zhisheng and I were at a loss for how to comfort her. After all, we had gained our powers through various coincidences. Actively seeking such power could easily lead to becoming another Yin Li. 0

After a while, Hu Fang seemed to come to terms with it. She smiled faintly at me and said, "Forget it. Since I don't have it, there's no need to force it. With you guys protecting me, I don't need any powers anyway." From her somewhat forced smile, I sensed a hint of bitterness. 0

Just as Hu Fang finished speaking, a voice from outside called out—Wang Po: "What are you all doing in there? Come out and help me cook! Do you all want free food?" 0

Hearing this, I exchanged glances with Meng Zhuang: "It's time for you to show your skills; go on..." Meng Zhuang nodded in response, put down the towel covering her still swollen face, and turned to leave. 0

"I'll go help too. Li Zhisheng, you stay here with Shen Xu," Hu Fang said as she pressed her lips together and followed Meng Zhuang out. 0

Watching Hu Fang leave, Li Zhisheng sighed and pulled up a chair to sit beside the bed. "I feel like something's off with Hu Fang's emotions; we need to find a way to guide her." 0

"Yeah, if she continues holding onto these feelings, something bad might happen," I replied as I lay back down and stared up at the thick wooden beams on the ceiling. 0

Li Zhisheng sat silently beside me, looking troubled. 0

After a long silence, Hu Fang walked in with a steaming bowl of rice. "Dinner is ready, Li Zhisheng. You go eat; I'll feed Shen Xu." 0

"Alright, I'll go eat first and not be a third wheel here..." He was about to get up. 0

Upon hearing this, Hu Fang lightly kicked him and shyly said, "You're making such a fuss just to go eat. Hurry up!" 0

Once Li Zhisheng left, Hu Fang sat down. She picked up some food, blew on it, and brought it to my mouth. Although it felt a bit awkward, I was in too much pain to move, so I had no choice but to accept it. 0

After a few bites, she casually blurted out, "What do I have to do to get the Void Spirit?" 0

Though Hu Fang delivered this line lightly, it hit me like a bolt from the blue. My mind went blank, and I was completely stunned... 0
