Upon hearing this, I sensed that Li Zhisheng's words carried a deeper meaning, but I chose not to press further and let him continue walking.
Before long, we reached the end of the staircase, where a layout similar to the one below appeared before us. However, this floor was considerably wider than the one below, and many employees in Amusement Park uniforms were bustling about in the corridor.
Seeing this, I quickly ducked to the side against the wall and said to Li Zhisheng, "What do we do now? Should we just barge in?" Li Zhisheng took a moment to compose himself and replied thoughtfully, "Maybe they don't recognize us yet. We might be able to slip by unnoticed."
"I hope so..." With that, I feigned calmness as I walked toward those in uniforms alongside Li Zhisheng.
As we navigated through the crowd, my heart raced for some reason. I worried they might recognize me, and instinctively lowered my head. At the same time, I noticed that as we passed by them, there was no trace of warmth or life; it was as if they were mere shadows.
"Is it just my imagination? I felt an unusual heaviness when we were downstairs too." As I pondered this, I cautiously glanced to the side and saw that the staff members around us moved stiffly, their expressions blank—like characters from The Walking Dead. This reminded me of the eight people I had encountered with Fan Wu earlier.
"Do you feel something's off?" Li Zhisheng whispered.
"I know what you're thinking; I'm sensing it too. I've seen these people before. According to Death Apostle, they are already dead but were forcibly revived by Yang Master using Void Spirit. They are like the Undead—completely devoid of awareness, acting like mere machines programmed for combat..." Despite my low voice, being so close to them made one suddenly turn its head toward me, its hollow eyes fixated on me.
I cursed under my breath; there were at least dozens of them here. If one of them was startled, all would swarm in response. With our current combat abilities, Li Zhisheng and I would stand no chance against them.
Realizing this made me panic slightly, but unexpectedly, Li Zhisheng remained calm and pulled me back gently. "Don't panic. I can see their Void Spirit. It just thinks you're strange but doesn't harbor any hostility toward you. Ignore it and keep walking."
Just as I was nervously threading my way through the 'Walking Dead,' a door beside us suddenly swung open. A pale hand reached out from within and grabbed my arm tightly.
The sudden fright nearly made me cry out. At that moment, Li Zhisheng noticed my distress; he quickly turned around and saw me being seized. He hurriedly grabbed my other arm while leaning back to prevent me from being pulled inside.
However, the owner of that hand was incredibly strong and effortlessly yanked both me and Li Zhisheng into the room.
As soon as we were dragged in, Li Zhisheng was too close to me; my foot got caught on his, causing us both to stumble and fall to the ground.
In that instant, Li Zhisheng unleashed the power of Soul Burial. A wave of dark energy spread around him, and then he sprang up from the ground like a fish leaping out of water.
I sighed inwardly, wondering when Li Zhisheng had become so skilled. As I struggled to get up from the ground, I noticed that Li Zhisheng was standing still, not making any defensive moves.
"What’s wrong?!" I asked unconsciously.
But Li Zhisheng ignored me, muttering to himself, "You... how did you end up here? Why has it come to this?"
From his words, I sensed fear and astonishment. Just then, a woman's voice came from across him. "It's all because of those people. I barely managed to escape, but I didn't expect to run into you..."
"Hu Fang?!" I recognized her voice immediately. "How could you...?" I said as I got to my feet.
Before me, Hu Fang looked pale and seemed to have lost weight. On her exposed arms, I noticed a blue mark branded on the back of her hand and wrist, identical to the one on the Death Apostle's hand.
"Could it be that you now possess a Void Spirit?!" I exclaimed in shock.
Before Hu Fang could respond, Li Zhisheng spoke up. "I can see that she not only has a Void Spirit but also possesses two completely different Void Spirits. One is relatively weak and resembles the one the Death Apostle had before, but the other..."
He suddenly paused, prompting me to ask, "What about the other one?!"
Li Zhisheng replied, "The other one is much more powerful; in fact, I can't even see its full form. It looks somewhat like the Void Spirit inside you."
"What?! The Void Spirit inside me? But mine is alive, while Hu Fang was previously possessed. How could she have a living Void Spirit?!" I was utterly confused.
"I can't say for sure," he replied. "But it seems that the Void Spirit has just manifested and shows no signs of awakening."
Hearing us discuss her, Hu Fang interjected, "Stop worrying about where my Void Spirit came from and think about how to get out of here! Those people outside are after me since they found out I've escaped. There's no way for me to leave now. Do you have any plans?"
After hearing this, Li Zhisheng and I exchanged glances. "Like you, we were also captured and don’t even know where we are... However, one thing is certain: we should still be in the amusement park; we just can't determine our exact location. As for how to get out, we're at a loss too. We only know that there was a woman impersonating you who should be in this building. She's very strong; both Li Zhisheng and I were taken down by her in an instant. If we try to force our way out, we might run into her."
Upon hearing that someone was impersonating her, Hu Fang immediately became angry. "Did that woman do anything to you?! Did you do anything to her?!"
