At that moment, the image of the Void Spirit suddenly appeared in my mind. It looked strikingly similar to me, almost identical, but it possessed a personality that was the complete opposite—arrogant, indifferent, and detached from the world, as if everything lay beneath its feet.
As the image of the Void Spirit emerged, scenes from life flashed rapidly through my mind, all seemingly from ancient times. These images were fleeting, and I couldn't make out any details.
However, the Void Spirit paid no attention to this; it murmured softly, "Timing, start!"
Since everything had just occurred in my mind, not much time had passed. In the eyes of the grotesque creature before me, covered in boils, I seemed to have merely paused for a moment.
The instant the Void Spirit uttered the word "start," my body sprang into action. At that moment, I felt as if I was simultaneously controlling my body alongside the Void Spirit.
"Don't get distracted!" The Void Spirit snapped at me sharply when it noticed my momentary lapse in focus.
Upon hearing this, I dared not think further and instead attuned myself to the Void Spirit's intentions. I followed its movements to control my body, gripping Jiang Ling tightly in my hand and unleashing a Slash Mark.
Seeing this, the boil-covered monster hurriedly sidestepped in an attempt to evade. But my strike wasn't meant to attack; it was merely to force it to dodge.
Realizing it had fallen for my trick, I quickly infused power into Jiang Ling. At that moment, Jiang Ling began to emit a dazzling red light due to the immense energy coursing through it. The You Long that had been coiling around my arm now thickened beyond my arm's width. It detached from my arm and began to swirl around me, radiating an enchanting red glow.
"Now!" With the Void Spirit's voice echoing in my ears, I swung Jiang Ling horizontally. A black Slash Mark glowing with red light shot forth toward the monster. But I didn't stop there; I leaped into the air and unleashed several more Slash Marks, sealing off all possible escape routes for the creature.
With nowhere left to run, the monster suddenly let out a loud cry. Boils around its body began to burst open, releasing streams of yellowish liquid accompanied by a nauseating stench.
At that moment, I saw snakes erupting from the ruptured boils on its surface. As soon as they left the monster's body, they grew at an astonishing speed. Before my Slash Marks could reach it, those snakes had already grown taller than an adult and wrapped around the creature completely.
With thunderous roars echoing around me, the red-glowing black Slash Marks struck down upon the monster one after another, kicking up clouds of smoke and leaving deep gashes in the ground. "It can't be that easy for it to die..."
Thinking this, I descended from the air. Just as my feet touched the ground, I suddenly exerted force and shot into the smoke like Black Lightning.
Amidst the swirling dust, I relied on instinct as I ran and swiftly swung Jiang Ling in my hand. Red sword shadows flickered through the smoke and quickly dispersed it.
As the smoke cleared, a strange spherical creature appeared before me. Its entire body was covered in scales; my strikes only left shallow cuts on its surface without harming its bones.
"Thirty seconds..." Void Spirit murmured. I could sense that Void Spirit wasn't interested in what it was but intended to eliminate it directly.
So, I leaped into the air once more, swinging the glowing red-black Slash Mark at the sphere. Yet, no matter how fiercely I attacked, the sphere remained motionless; instead, the ground around it was left with a massive crater from my Slash Mark.
"This is futile. Since we can't cut through it, let's penetrate it!" I thought, halting my attacks. I switched Jiang Ling to my left hand while my right began to gather power in my palm.
In a moment, I condensed half of my strength into a black dot the size of a grain of rice in my palm.
"One minute..." Void Spirit continued to whisper.
Hearing this, I didn't think too much and suddenly released the concentrated power toward the sphere below. To my surprise, due to the excessive energy input, the black beam unexpectedly expanded outward at the moment of release, quickly transforming into a pillar wide enough for a person to fit through.
Even so, this strike was still immensely powerful, completely shattering the outer shell of the Black Sphere. Instantly, a yellow liquid gushed out, and from within came a hoarse voice that screamed frantically, "It's too late! It's already too late!"
Then, I saw its ribcage suddenly open up like a large mouth, absorbing all of the black beam I had unleashed.
I cursed inwardly; hadn't I just injected a massive amount of power directly into its body?!
Realizing this, I gripped Jiang Ling tightly with both hands and raised it above my head. Using the momentum from my descent, I channeled some of that power into my arms and then struck down hard onto the monster's head.
As Jiang Ling descended, a red light erupted suddenly, shining brilliantly within the creature like a rising sun.
To my shock, the monster grinned at me, revealing its sharp fangs and lunging forward to bite me.
Seeing this, I quickly withdrew my sword and jumped back several steps to evade its attack. "Two minutes left..." Void Spirit now sounded somewhat anxious.
Upon hearing this, I said nothing but steadied myself and charged at the monster again. This time, as soon as I stepped forward, I swung my sword intending to use it as cover or absorb the Slash Mark while simultaneously aiming to cleave it with Jiang Ling.
The monster had just taken one of my strikes and was still recovering; when it saw the Slash Mark flying toward it, it didn't dodge but opened its chest cavity again and bit down on the Slash Mark to absorb it.
In that fleeting moment when he absorbed the energy, I had already arrived behind him. Seeing him completely unguarded, a flicker of killing intent flashed in my eyes as I raised Jiang Ling and aimed it at his neck, striking with a swift thrust.
With a flash of red light, the monster's head fell to the ground. But just as its head dropped, before the blood could even spurt from the cut on its neck, a new head suddenly sprouted from the stump. It twisted its head around violently, revealing a grotesque expression.
At that moment, I felt no fear. Witnessing this scene, I swung my sword again. Another head fell, but this time I did not wait for it to regenerate; I forcefully drove Jiang Ling into the gaping wound on its neck. At the same time, I concentrated the power within Jiang Ling at the tip of the blade.
"Die!" I shouted, releasing the gathered energy with a fierce thrust. There was a muffled explosion from within the monster's body, and in an instant, it was blown apart into pieces, yellowish fluid splattering all over me.
Seeing that the monster had been reduced to a puddle of mush, I finally felt a sense of relief. Turning around to check on Yao Long and Li Zhisheng, I heard Void Spirit remind me urgently, "You need to retract my power; time is running out!"
As I glanced back while asking Void Spirit, "How much time do we have left?"
Just then, a hoarse voice suddenly echoed behind me: "You have one minute left..."
