"Can we really trust what he said? Aren't you afraid he might deceive us again?!" Yao Long looked at me with disbelief.
"Even though I don't want to believe him again, given the current situation, it seems he has no intention of tricking us. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left this note, nor would he have gone through so much trouble to take away the Death Apostle. So I think he doesn't mean to deceive us."
Despite my concerns, I realized that if we didn't act according to the note and something happened, it would be too late to regret. It was better to move out first; after all, it wouldn't have a significant impact on us. As for what would happen after moving out, we could only take it one step at a time.
"When do you plan to leave?" Li Zhisheng asked, seemingly willing to trust the note's instructions.
"I think the sooner, the better. We must act before the events mentioned in the note occur. Otherwise, once something happens, given our current situation, facing Yang Master would likely lead us to a dead end..." I paused for a moment and continued, "First, let's get Yao Long back home. Then we can look for a suitable place. As for the Death Apostle, we have no choice but to temporarily trust this Haoyang..."
Yao Long wanted to argue vehemently, but after our repeated persuasion, he finally relented. Afterward, Li Zhisheng and I helped Yao Long upstairs and instructed Hu Fang to take care of his wounds before we headed out again.
Once outside, Li Zhisheng and I visited several housing agencies on the street and decided to stay in a place near the outskirts. This was both to avoid the dangers mentioned in the note and to prevent any potential battles from harming innocent residents nearby.
We then found a moving company and began the process of relocating...
...
We were busy until around ten in the evening and still hadn't finished moving everything. However, daily necessities and some relatively important items had already been moved into the house in the suburbs.
"Let's clear some space; otherwise, we won't be able to sleep tonight..." Hu Fang said breathlessly while holding a box.
At that moment, Li Zhisheng and I were working together to lift a cabinet into the house. Upon hearing Hu Fang's words, we placed the cabinet in the center of the room. I stood beside it, wiping the sweat from my forehead as I looked around this somewhat shabby house. "Let's set up the bed and blankets first..."
Meanwhile, Yao Long could only help us with one hand due to his injury. He stood silently by himself, looking somewhat anxious and restless.
But at that moment, I couldn't care less about comforting him. After a flurry of activity, we finally cleared some space to set up the bed, and it took us a tremendous effort to get it arranged properly.
"Ah~ I can't take it anymore, I'm exhausted..." Hu Fang collapsed onto the bed, complaining. Hearing this, I glanced at Li Zhisheng and Yao Long, and saw that aside from Yao Long, both Li Zhisheng and I were nearly drained of energy, sprawled out on the bed like a pile of mush.
"Let's just call it a day; I really can't move anymore..." Li Zhisheng said.
After resting for quite a while, we barely managed to recover. At that moment, Yao Long asked us, "Are you hungry? I'll go buy you something to eat."
Upon hearing this, I looked at his expression and noticed a hint of killing intent in his eyes; it seemed he could no longer contain himself.
Seeing this, I worried that he might do something extreme if he went out alone, so I quickly said to him, "It's fine; let's go eat together instead. No need to buy anything back... right, Li Zhisheng?" I shot a glance at Li Zhisheng.
He looked at me and then at Yao Long, immediately understanding. "Yeah, that's right. Your hand is injured; it's not convenient for you to carry anything. Let's go together..."
However, Hu Fang was completely oblivious to the unusual exchange between me and Li Zhisheng. As soon as she heard we were going out to eat, she sat up excitedly and said, "Going out to eat?! I'm coming too! I'm starving; I've been so busy without eating..."
So the four of us set out together in search of food.
Walking down the street, I noticed the crowd was noticeably less than in the city center, and the restaurants looked rather unclean. I really had no appetite. Meanwhile, Hu Fang was eagerly picking out places to eat. Li Zhisheng and Yao Long followed behind her silently.
"Don't be so gloomy! What do you guys want to eat? Come on, it's on me..." I forced a smile in an attempt to lighten the mood. But Li Zhisheng shot me a glance and said, "Stop pretending; I know you're worried about Death Apostle too, so don’t keep trying to comfort us."
At his words, I immediately dropped my half-smile and sighed. "If it were possible, I'd love to go find Haoyang right now and get some answers about what happened—why they had to take Death Apostle away and why we had to move..."
Just as I was talking to myself, Yao Long suddenly said seriously, "I just thought of something... Have you considered that the ones who took Mr. Death and knocked me out might not be Haoyang at all?!"
Hearing this made me gasp in shock; it felt like something cold shot down my spine. "Why do you say that?!" I asked urgently.
"Think about what happened at the amusement park last time. Since they were able to impersonate Hu Fang, why can't they impersonate Haoyang as well?" Yao Long explained anxiously.
I pondered for a moment; it was indeed a possibility. However, the only person among us who had seen Haoyang was Yao Long... Furrowing my brows, I asked Yao Long, "Your speculation isn't without merit, but among us, you're the only one who has seen this so-called Haoyang. Whether it's real or fake, only you know, right?"
Upon hearing this, Yao Long seemed to realize that his words were somewhat contradictory. He was the one who initially told us that Haoyang brought the Death Apostle, and now he was doubting whether Haoyang was a human in disguise. Moreover, he couldn't provide any definitive evidence to prove the authenticity of Haoyang.
"How about this..." Seeing him at a loss for words, I wanted to make a suggestion, but just as I spoke, Hu Fang tugged at my sleeve. "Shen Xu, let's eat this!"
Turning my head to look, I saw a neon-lit sign hanging by a stall on the street that boldly proclaimed "All-Insect Feast."
I was puzzled. "Hu Fang, aren't you afraid of insects? Why would you choose to eat them? Did you hit your head when you moved earlier?!"
At this moment, Hu Fang grinned and said, "It's just curiosity! Plus, I've never tried it before... What about you guys? Are you too scared to eat it?"
