"Then, did you do something before..." I intended to ask if she had done something harmful to Yao Long, but as the words reached my lips, I hesitated, thinking about how the Old Woman had helped us. For a moment, I found it difficult to voice my concerns. 0

"Harmful things, is it?" The Old Woman calmly picked up my thread of thought. "The truth is, yes, I have done some disgraceful things in the past. Even now, I cannot forgive myself for them. That is why I decided to stop doing such things..." 0

At this point, the Old Woman suddenly smiled, her wrinkled face appearing remarkably gentle. "But now it's all right; everything should come to an end. This was all destined..." 0

With that, she turned and walked toward the shelves behind her, her hands gently caressing the jars and bottles as if bidding farewell to old friends. 0

Seeing this, a doubt suddenly arose in my heart, and I tentatively asked, "Old Woman, why did you have to implant the Worm King into my friend? Does he possess something unusual?" 0

Upon hearing this, the Old Woman turned her head and looked at me through the dim candlelight. "I don't know if he has anything special about him. It was just that at that moment, things were urgent. I feared for my life and worried that the Worm King would be lost. I had no choice but to implant it into your friend..." Her voice choked slightly. "I even lost my own daughter because of it..." 0

Although her last statement was somewhat vague, I still caught it. It turned out that Yao Long's previous experiences were not mere illusions; there indeed existed a girl who seemed to have lost her life because of the Worm King. 0

"Well, I've told you everything you should know. Do you have any more questions?" The Old Woman spoke as if a heavy stone had been lifted from her heart, and she let out a long sigh of relief. 0

I thought for a moment and realized there was nothing more to ask. I replied to the Old Woman, "Thank you for telling me so much; that's all I wanted to know." 0

Hearing my words, the Old Woman nodded at me and waved her hand gently. "In that case, you may leave now. I want to stay here alone for a while; go back to your friend." 0

As she urged me to leave, I felt a slight unease in my heart. However, with no reason to stay any longer, I thanked her once more and left the Cellar alone. 0

Stepping out of the room, darkness had completely enveloped everything. I made my way back to Yao Long's room in the dark. At that moment, aided by the moonlight streaming in from outside, I vaguely saw Yao Long still lying quietly on the stone bed. His chest rose and fell steadily, and his expression appeared peaceful; he seemed to be sleeping soundly. 0

"I hope nothing else happens..." I murmured as I looked at the sleeping Yao Long. Then I pulled over a few rough Wooden Stools from the side and arranged them together so that one person could lie down in front of them. 0

Afterward, I lay down on the makeshift 'bed' made of Wooden Stools and managed to fall asleep... 0

A night passed without incident, and the next morning, a dazzling beam of sunlight streamed in from outside, warming the room. "Hmm, is it bright already?" I stretched lazily, yawning as I got up from the stool, instinctively turning to look at the stone bed where Yao Long had been sleeping. 0

At that moment, the stone bed covered with hay was already empty, the hay scattered messily to one side. "Where is Yao Long?!" I was startled and quickly reached out to touch the bed, hoping to find some warmth left. 0

"It's still warm; it seems he must have just left not long ago..." With that thought in mind, I hurriedly dashed out the door. In my rush, I collided with someone as soon as I stepped outside. 0

"Hey!" I exclaimed, quickly stepping back. Once I steadied myself and focused, I realized it was Yao Long standing before me, carrying Azure Spirit on his back. He seemed just as startled by our collision. 0

"You’re up too..." Yao Long spoke first. 0

"Yeah, I saw you weren't here and thought something had happened to you. You scared me..." I replied. 0

Yao Long chuckled and scratched the back of his head. "I just got up too. I saw you still sleeping and thought I'd go wash my face to wake up a bit. I didn't expect you to be awake as well..." 0

With that, Yao Long and I stepped outside into the sunlight. As I stretched my body, which ached from sleeping on the stool, I asked him, "How do you feel now? Any unusual symptoms?" 0

"None..." Yao Long replied while moving his arms. "Not only do I feel fine, but it seems like all my previous injuries have healed as well. I'm feeling particularly energetic." 0

"Oh right, what about that old woman who helped us? Where is she now? I haven't had a chance to thank her yet..." 0

Hearing Yao Long mention the Old Woman reminded me that after leaving the Cellar last night, I hadn't seen her again and wondered how she was doing. 0

The more I thought about it, the more worried I became. I turned to Yao Long and said, "Let's go look for her. She took me to a Cellar last night and then disappeared." 0

Yao Long appeared somewhat surprised by my words. "What? She disappeared in the Cellar?" 0

Seeing that he seemed to misunderstand my meaning, I clarified, "She didn't disappear... It's hard to explain everything in just a few words; let's just find her first." 0

I led Yao Long to the entrance of the cellar beside the house. Standing at the door, Yao Long looked somewhat confused, while I stepped inside without a word. Seeing that I was silent, Yao Long had no choice but to follow me in. 0

Once inside the cellar, darkness enveloped us, and I could faintly smell the scent of burning candles in the air. There were also rustling sounds coming from the shadows, sending chills down my spine. 0

In response, I quickly pulled out my lighter. The moment it flickered to life, I was stunned by the sight before me. The ground was littered with shards of clay pots, and even the wooden rack that held them had toppled over. 0

"What happened?!" I gasped, taking a sharp breath as a sense of dread washed over me. Could it be that someone was seeking revenge? 0

As I pondered this, I raised the lighter slightly to see further into the darkness. At that moment, several insects scurried out from the shadows—scorpions and centipedes. They were larger than normal, but their colors were disturbingly dark green, making them appear menacing. 0

Seeing this, Yao Long instinctively drew his bow and shot several arrows, killing the poisonous creatures one by one. Just then, I noticed something in a corner illuminated by the light—a hand-like object, with the rest of it hidden in the darkness beyond the reach of the flame… 0

My eyes widened in shock as my heart raced to my throat. 0
