I saw the old man and the middle-aged woman getting closer to me, and I could even smell the unique scent of tulips emanating from them.
Just at that critical moment, I heard a whoosh as a shadow swept past my ear, carrying a strong gust of wind, and with a loud bang, it struck the old man and the middle-aged woman who were approaching me.
In an instant, black smoke rose around me, accompanied by piercing screams echoing from within.
"Li Zhisheng?!" I instinctively exclaimed. Behind me, I heard Li Zhisheng's voice asking, "What is going on?"
"There’s no time to explain now. Just know that these two are the real Blood Farmers."
Upon hearing this, Li Zhisheng wasted no time and stepped in front of me, gathering energy for a Black Sphere in his hand, ready to strike at the old man and the middle-aged woman hidden in the smoke.
At that moment, there was a sound of collapsing walls from within the black smoke, and soon after, the old man and the middle-aged woman escaped through the rubble.
Hearing this, I quickly shouted to Li Zhisheng in front of me, "Hurry! Don’t let them get away! Capture them and find out how to save Haoyang!"
Li Zhisheng did not rush out immediately; instead, he picked up a knife that had fallen nearby and turned to cut through the vines binding my hands and feet. "I'll stay here to watch over Haoyang. You go after them!" he said.
After hearing this, I flexed my wrists that had been uncomfortably bound by the vines, nodded in agreement, and dashed into the black smoke, following the hole in the wall as I hurried outside.
To my surprise, as soon as I stepped out, I was taken aback. Dozens of villagers stood outside with torches, glaring at me as an unwelcome guest.
Just when I felt at a loss for what to do, I saw the old man step forward from the crowd. He held one hand against his injured body and stared at me with fierce eyes. "Kill him!" he shouted angrily.
As soon as he finished speaking, the villagers around me revealed their fierce expressions and rushed toward me with their torches raised. Seeing this, I felt uncertain about how to proceed; I didn’t know if they were all Blood Farmers.
But at that moment, those villagers' eyes were already bloodshot and filled with Killing Intent. In a moment of desperation, I thought to myself: "Damn it, capture the leader first; take down that commanding old man first."
With that thought in mind, I threw my Jiang Ling high into the air. Then I charged up two Black Spheres in each hand and fired them explosively to both sides. With a loud boom, both Black Spheres struck the villagers rushing toward me on either side. Immediately after, I looked up at the Jiang Ling falling from above and suddenly sprang into action beneath it.
In the air, Jiang Ling was tightly gripped in my hand as I quickly infused power into the sword. With my energy flowing into it, Black Dragon manifested, coiling around my arm.
At that moment, I locked onto the old man in the crowd below and hurled Jiang Ling with all my might. Instantly, the thrown sword transformed into a black dragon, piercing toward the old man's chest. He attempted to dodge, but it was too late; Black Dragon had accurately pierced his heart.
I watched as his body stiffened, standing frozen in place, his face still reflecting sheer terror. The surrounding villagers, witnessing the old man's death, did not scatter; instead, they became even more frenzied.
As I descended from the sky, they focused on my landing point and surged toward me. Just as I was about to be engulfed by the zombie-like villagers, a flash of Black Light appeared before me. With a loud boom, a Black Sphere struck into the crowd, instantly scattering the villagers and enveloping the ground in a thick black smoke.
At that moment, I heard Li Zhisheng's voice nearby as he shouted, "Shen Xu, have you found a way to save Haoyang?"
Standing amidst the crowd, I couldn't afford to answer him. Instead, I relied on my memory to break through the throng and retrieve Jiang Ling from where it had embedded in the ground.
To my surprise, the old man still stood upright and had not fallen. A large hole was visible in his chest where You Long had pierced him, blood gushing out in bright red streams.
"That old man seems dead; I'll ask someone else..." I called out while scanning my surroundings. Just then, a villager staggered toward me, spewing crimson petals.
Seeing this, I glared at him. As he got closer, I suddenly grabbed his neck and lifted him off the ground, demanding, "How do you cure Blood Farmer's poison?!"
He laughed maniacally and replied, "Cure? There’s no cure! Anyone poisoned is doomed to die!"
Seeing his refusal to cooperate, I shot him a disdainful glance and scoffed, "Oh? Is that so?" With that, I swiftly severed one of his arms with a single stroke. "Are you willing to talk now?" I coldly stared at this villager who could no longer be considered human.
His mocking expression quickly froze and transformed into one of agony. He wailed and laughed hysterically while clawing at my wrist in a desperate attempt to escape my grip.
However, having harnessed the power of Void Spirit at that moment, he stood no chance against my overwhelming strength. No matter how much he struggled, he could not break free from my hold.
Just then, several villagers seemed drawn by his cries and rushed over. Without hesitation, I raised Jiang Ling and swept it horizontally toward them. In an instant, a Slash Mark emerged and swiftly cleaved those villagers rushing toward me in half.
After dealing with those villagers, I turned my attention to the one I had captured. He was still shouting, whether from fear or the pain of his severed arm, I could not tell.
Seeing this, I felt no pity in my heart. I raised the sharp Jiang Ling before his eyes and questioned him once more, "I will ask you one last time, how do you cure the Blood Farmer's poison?"
"Okay, okay... I... it's... it's the Snail... the bloodied Snail..." Before he could finish, a sharp vine suddenly shot out from nowhere, piercing through his forehead. There was a loud pop as his head exploded in front of me, brain matter splattering everywhere, and from within his shattered skull bloomed a bright red flower.
I was taken aback and quickly released my grip. The villager fell to the ground with a thud, dead.
"Who did that?!" I roared.
As soon as I spoke, a woman's voice came from not far behind me: "We just met; have you already forgotten?!"
I turned around to see a middle-aged woman standing behind me, her eyes fixed on me with fury. "You killed my husband; you won't live to return..."
