Thinking of this, I shared my thoughts with everyone. Li Zhisheng nodded and said, "Hmm, it is indeed possible. When we left, it was the perfect time for Yang Master to strike, yet they did not act and instead appeared unusually calm. Could this be what they call the calm before the storm?"
"Everything we are discussing is merely speculation without any solid evidence. Rather than continuing like this, we should investigate first before making any judgments," I pondered aloud.
At that moment, Hu Fang, who had been silent, interjected, "Do we really have to look for Yang Master's people? We’ve already suffered enough at their hands; what if this time turns out to be just like before..." Her face revealed her worry and concern.
Hearing this, Haoyang seemed to want to speak but hesitated. I patted him on the shoulder and encouraged him, "Just say what's on your mind."
After a moment of contemplation, he replied, "I do know a few places that could potentially be Yang Master's base. But if they discover us... we might not come back."
"I'll go with you!" Haoyang's words were interrupted by Yao Long. Surprised by this sudden declaration, Haoyang looked at Yao Long in disbelief, as if he couldn't believe those words had come from him.
"I’ll go with you," Yao Long repeated.
"Weren't you the one who didn't trust me? Why would you..." Haoyang asked incredulously.
Yao Long replied earnestly, "Exactly because of that, I can't let anyone else go with you. Besides, given my abilities, I'm currently the most suitable choice. Furthermore, we can't just sit here doing nothing while the situation with Yang Master remains unclear. If we continue like this and Yang Master decides to act against us again, we could be in serious danger."
Listening to Yao Long's words, not just me but even Death Apostle and Li Zhisheng felt this was the safest approach. First of all, I believed Haoyang was unlikely to be an undercover agent anymore; I thought Yang Master's people wouldn't be foolish enough to let someone already exposed infiltrate again. Even if he wasn't an undercover agent, Yang Master's people were not something we could easily confront right now, so we needed to avoid direct conflict.
In other words, we needed to monitor Yang Master's movements discreetly. Among us, only Haoyang and Yao Long had the skills for such surveillance. Although we still didn't know Haoyang's combat capabilities at this point, Yao Long had significantly improved; he might even surpass Li Zhisheng now. Even if they accidentally exposed their whereabouts, Yao Long's skills would likely allow them to escape safely.
With that in mind, I said to Yao Long, "Since you've made your decision, then proceed as you see fit."
After that, everyone chatted about trivial matters until dusk fell. After dinner and a brief rest, everyone went off to their own quarters.
The next morning, according to what Yao Long and Haoyang had said the day before, they left early. At this point, only Hu Fang, Li Zhisheng, Death Apostle, and I remained in the room. It was still early; Li Zhisheng and Hu Fang had yet to wake up. I stood alone by the window smoking while Death Apostle sat on the sofa behind me watching television.
"You seem troubled," Death Apostle suddenly remarked from behind me, catching me off guard and leaving me unsure how to respond.
"I suppose so," I replied as I gazed out at the desolate street outside.
After hearing that, the Death Apostle stood up and walked over to me, gazing out the window together. "I suppose you're not worried about Yao Long and Haoyang, are you?"
"I'm not concerned about those two. Although Yao Long has some reservations about Haoyang, I believe he won't act rashly. I'm just a bit worried about the mark on my hand." With that, I rolled up my sleeve to reveal a mark that had grown about two inches above my elbow.
"Can't the incident you faced last time eliminate your mark?" the Death Apostle asked.
I shook my head and sighed. "No, I didn't even encounter any ghosts."
"Then why not go to the cemetery and try your luck?" Li Zhisheng, who had woken up at some point, suggested quietly from the side.
"I'm just afraid that if the mark doesn't fade, we might run into some troublesome situations that could cause it to grow again."
"But what if you don't go? What if something unexpected happens soon? Given how your mark is growing, it might not be long before you're in danger," Li Zhisheng said, frowning.
Hearing him say that made me uneasy. After all, his Crow's Mouth was blessed by Buddha and had always been good for us but bad for our enemies.
"Can't you think of something positive? What if nothing happens recently, and then I encounter a lot of supernatural events that push the mark down to its minimum?"
"Let's hope so, let's hope so..."
Just as Li Zhisheng finished speaking, a series of urgent knocks echoed from the door, causing me to become alert.
"What did I just say? Your mouth..." I muttered under my breath as I approached the door cautiously and slowly opened it a crack. At that moment, I saw a delivery guy standing at the entrance in his uniform. He raised the bag in his hand and smiled at me. "Your takeout."
Seeing this, I felt a surge of anger and turned back to ask, "Who ordered takeout?"
The Death Apostle hurried over with a grin. "It's mine! I saw a nice restaurant earlier and ordered some food. Do you want any?" He took the items from the Courier Brother's hands, thanked him, and then closed the door.
I looked at him with concern as he prepared to eat takeout again. "You just ate; why are you ordering more food? Don't we have enough at home?"
As he sat on the sofa unpacking his meal, the Death Apostle replied, "I can't go out right now, but I wanted something different to eat. So takeout was my only option."
Upon hearing this, I looked at him and felt a bit of sympathy. He couldn't go out and had to stay at home, always needing someone to protect him to avoid any accidents.
"Then next time, order something good..." Just as I was about to walk over to see what he was eating, there was another knock at the door.
"Death Apostle, how many places did you order from? Why is there still..."
"I only ordered this much, that's all..."
With that, I returned to the door and pulled it open. The moment the door swung wide, I was stunned; the person standing at the entrance was not the Delivery Guy but Li Zhisheng's father, Li Yu!
"Li Bo?! What are you doing here..." I exclaimed in surprise as I looked at Li Yu.
Li Zhisheng noticed my reaction and turned around as well. This startled him too. He quickly walked up and respectfully said, "Father, how did you find me here..."
