The blue light flickered rhythmically before transforming into a brilliant blue beam that shot down from the mountaintop. The man who had just spoken seemed to sense something, and at the moment the blue light was about to touch him, he suddenly reached out and grasped the beam with lightning speed.
Immediately after, there was a loud "bang" as the blue light exploded in his hand, creating an even more blinding radiance. "Do you think such trivial tricks can harm me?" he said confidently. But before he could finish, I noticed that Li Zhisheng, who had been standing in front, had already vanished without a trace.
At that moment, Li Zhisheng's voice echoed from above: "It's too early to celebrate!" I looked up and saw that Li Zhisheng had leaped into the air. He extended one hand, and within his palm was a massive Black Sphere that emanated thick black mist under the glow of the blue light.
"Not good! Scatter!" shouted the man who had blocked Yao Long's arrows.
But it was too late; Li Zhisheng had already released the Black Sphere. In an instant, an overwhelming pressure descended from above. I realized the danger—if Li Zhisheng's attack struck the ground, given our current distance, we would likely be caught in the massive explosion generated by the Black Sphere.
"Run! Run!" I urgently turned around and grabbed Hu Fang and Death Apostle, trying to flee backward. Just then, a tremendous roar erupted behind us, followed by a powerful shockwave that hit us all at once, sending us flying.
When the dust settled, I got up from the ground and brushed off my clothes before quickly looking toward the cave entrance. There were only three figures standing there now, one of whom was undoubtedly Li Zhisheng.
"Li Zhisheng, do you want to drag us down with you?!" I shouted.
"I know what I'm doing!" Li Zhisheng replied loudly.
"Truly worthy of Soul Burial, your power is formidable..." one of the two Yang Masters remarked. Suddenly, his body erupted in bright red flames, which were different from what I had seen before; they radiated outward, enveloping him completely.
"This is bad!" Haoyang suddenly exclaimed from behind. "The one who injured Yao Long was this person! Li Zhisheng, watch out!"
"What..." Li Zhisheng seemed not to hear Haoyang's warning. Just as he turned to ask what was happening, the man surrounded by radioactive red flames charged at him with incredible speed. Without hesitation, he kicked sideways into Li Zhisheng's waist, causing him to grunt and be sent flying.
Seeing Li Zhisheng injured made me restless; I reached for my weapon, Jiang Ling. However, before I could grasp it, my wrist was firmly held by Death Apostle. Gritting his teeth, he shook his head at me as if to say it wasn't time yet.
Reluctantly, I lowered my hand while tightening my fists. Meanwhile, Haoyang was rummaging through one of five pouches at his waist and said to me, "Shen Xu, don't rush; I'll help Li Zhisheng."
He pulled out several talismans and a black object from his pocket, gripping it tightly in his palm as he rushed towards Li Zhisheng without hesitation.
The two Yang Masters sneered upon seeing Haoyang. "Last time we didn't kill you, and this time you come right to us. Perfect timing; I'll make sure you die a quick death," one of them said as they charged toward Haoyang.
Just as the two were about to reach Haoyang, a flash of blue light flickered from the mountaintop where Yao Long was located, heading straight for the two Yang Masters.
Seeing this, one of the Yang Masters halted, gathering a red sphere in his hand and quickly preparing to throw it, hoping to counter Yao Long's attack.
However, just as his Red Sphere was about to leave his hand, a glint of cold light flashed from the other side of his body. With a whoosh, a wooden arrow shot straight into his Heart, piercing through his back.
The impact caused him to stagger, losing his aim. At that moment of hesitation, the blue light struck his forehead simultaneously.
A dazzling brilliance erupted on his forehead, engulfing him in an instant. He didn't even have time to scream before he was blown apart into fragments.
At that moment, Yao Long stepped out from the shadows, holding the Azure Spirit. The Worm King's armor clung to his limbs. "You are dealing with me," he said slowly to the figure surrounded by red flames not far away.
The Yang Master was taken aback for a moment before bursting into laughter. "I wondered who it was; perfect timing! Today I'll take care of both of you!"
"You think you can ambush me again?!" Yao Long suddenly became fierce, a strong Killing Intent radiating around him. His body gradually became covered by the Worm King's armor, resembling an Evil Spirit.
"What... what is this..." The Yang Master looked surprised. It seemed that when he had previously injured Yao Long, Yao Long hadn't had time to use the Worm King's armor. Now seeing it made him feel a sense of dread.
"What's wrong? Are you scared now? The one who will truly kill you isn't me; it's the person behind you!" Yao Long said, pointing at the Yang Master's back.
At that moment, taking advantage of the Yang Master's distraction, Haoyang had already used the talismans and the black object in his hand to create a strange pattern behind the Yang Master.
"You, when did you..." Before the Yang Master could finish, Yao Long drew his bowstring and swiftly shot a deep blue arrow, forcing the Yang Master to stumble back a few steps, right into the formation set by Haoyang.
As the Yang Master entered, the talismans on the ground immediately ignited, forming a circular magic array on the ground. As the array grew brighter, a white beam of light shot up suddenly, trapping the Yang Master within it, and then began to slowly constrict.
"No, it's impossible!" the Yang Master shouted, fiercely unleashing the Void Spirit within him in an attempt to escape the array. However, no matter how he struggled, it was futile; he could only allow the array to continue shrinking. In the end, the beam of light transformed into a white flash, disappearing into the night sky along with the Yang Master.
"What... what is this thing..." I stood by in shock.
"Guiding Wood," Haoyang replied from not far away. "This is merely using the power of Guiding Wood and triggering it with talismans to directly drag him into the Underworld."
Upon hearing Haoyang's explanation, Li Zhisheng slowly walked out from a distance while holding his waist. "Why didn't you use this method earlier? I ended up getting kicked... But speaking of which, these Yang Masters aren't as formidable as rumored..."
Before he could finish his sentence, a round of applause echoed from behind me. "Very clever. I was curious to see how long you could hold out. I didn't expect you to take down two of my capable subordinates. Even I can't help but want to praise you."
