As Yao Long and Li Zhisheng's attacks were about to strike the shadow, my heart raced to my throat. I knew all too well that they had infused a tremendous amount of power into this blow. If it failed to crush that shadowy Evil Spirit, I would have no choice but to summon the Void Spirit and fight it to the death.
Just as I clenched my fists, cold sweat began to bead on my palms. Suddenly, Hu Fang spun around. Her eyes were blood-red, and the black irises were gradually being consumed by the surrounding crimson.
“Hu Fang, what are you doing?” I shouted. I watched in shock as she extended her translucent tendrils behind her, shielding the shadow. In that instant, my eyes widened as I saw Yao Long's rain-like arrows strike against Hu Fang's outstretched tendrils.
In a flash, the arrows ignited with blue flames, and Li Zhisheng's black spear exploded into a mass of energy. The blue light enveloped the pitch-black smoke, detonating simultaneously with a thunderous boom that created a massive shockwave.
The force was overwhelming, sending me flying several dozen meters away. At the same time, a blue-black beam shot straight up into the sky.
“Hu Fang!” I yelled, desperately trying to grab onto something to stop myself. But in the face of such force, it was nearly impossible to hold on; even extending my hand was an immense challenge.
Just as I was about to crash into a large rock behind me, a hand suddenly reached out from the side and grabbed me tightly. “Hold on! Don’t let go!” someone shouted.
Recognizing the voice, I knew it was Death Apostle. However, due to the thick dust swirling around us, I couldn't tell where he had grabbed me from; all I could do was cling to his hand like a lifeline.
...
After a moment, as the dust settled, I stood up and shook off the dirt from my clothes. There was Death Apostle, leaning against a massive boulder that looked to weigh several tons—no wonder it hadn’t been blown away by the shockwave.
Yao Long and Haoyang were also leaning against that stone, but I had no idea where Li Zhisheng had gone.
“Hey, are you all okay?!” I hurried over to check on Death Apostle, Yao Long, and Haoyang. It seemed that Haoyang had hit his head against the rock and had already lost consciousness, while Yao Long was in front of Death Apostle, using his body to shield him from falling debris.
“I’m fine,” Yao Long replied, turning to look at Death Apostle. Thanks to Yao Long's protection, Death Apostle had also escaped serious injury.
“Hu Fang, what happened to Hu Fang?” Death Apostle asked from behind Yao Long, sounding somewhat strained.
Hearing this, I quickly glanced toward where Hu Fang had originally been. My heart sank at what I saw: the tendrils behind her had vanished, replaced by red lightning crackling around her body. Red veins resembling blood vessels snaked across her face, making her look terrifying.
But at that moment, I felt an immense energy radiating from within Hu Fang. It was a power similar to what I experienced when using Hatred.
"Has the power hidden within Hu Fang completely awakened? Or did she sacrifice those tentacles to absorb the attacks from Yao Long and Li Zhisheng?! But if this continues, her body..."
I was worried about Hu Fang because after using Hatred, my body became extremely weak, and I could clearly feel the burden that Hatred placed on me.
"Hu Fang is over there, but where did that Evil Spirit go?!" Yao Long said anxiously.
"Up there!" Death Apostle pointed at the sky in shock.
Hearing this, I hurriedly looked up. I saw a pair of blood-red eyes, similar to Hu Fang's, floating in mid-air.
At that moment, Hu Fang also sensed the presence of the Evil Spirit above. She looked up and roared, transforming her body into a streak of red light as she charged towards the Evil Spirit.
In the blink of an eye, there was a loud bang as a shadow fell rapidly from the sky, crashing heavily to the ground. Following that was a streak of red light—Hu Fang.
Hu Fang stood beside the shadow and fiercely slapped down with her hand, now equipped with sharp claws.
The shadow sensed danger and tried to dodge, but Hu Fang's speed was too fast; it couldn't escape in time and could only extend its hand in an attempt to block Hu Fang's attack.
Now, Hu Fang's power was unstoppable. The shadow couldn't withstand it at all and was struck by Hu Fang's palm. The sharp claws, charged with red lightning, pierced through its body.
The shadow screamed in agony, trying to escape, but it was pinned heavily to the ground by Hu Fang. It was not only unable to flee but even struggled to break free.
"What... what kind of monster are you?!" the shadow cried out in fear, hardly believing what it was witnessing.
At that moment, Li Zhisheng's voice came from a distance as he slowly walked out from somewhere: "Since you are not human yourself, why are you afraid of monsters? Aren't you an Evil Spirit?"
"Afraid? Hahaha, would I be afraid?!" The shadow seemed to have completely lost its sanity. Suddenly, a cloud of pitch-black smoke erupted around it, enveloping both itself and Hu Fang.
"This is bad! What does it want?!" I exclaimed. Meanwhile, Yao Long appeared unfazed. While clutching his still-bleeding abdomen and struggling to stand up against a boulder, he calmly said, "Don't worry. With Hu Fang's current strength, that Evil Spirit is no longer her opponent; it's just struggling in its death throes."
He took out a card that I had given him earlier and said, "Shen Xu, do you mind if I use one?"
"Are you planning to seal Hu Fang?" I asked.
Yao Long nodded, "That's right. Hu Fang is now completely controlled by Hatred. If we don't seal him quickly, we might all be killed by him."
With that, he picked up the Azure Spirit and attached the card to the bow. He slowly drew back the string, and with blood, he formed a crimson arrow, aiming at the spot where the black mist was, waiting for Hu Fang to appear from within.
At that moment, a muffled sound echoed as a strong gust of wind blew through the center of the black mist. We saw a frenzied Hu grasping a shadow that was barely alive, lifting it into the air while roaring at it incessantly.
In that instant, the shadow gathered its last remaining strength to charge up one final Red Sphere, intending to take Hu Fang down with it. "You're strong, but I won't concede just like that. If I'm going to die, we'll die together!"
The shadow roared as the Red Sphere in its hand began to shrink violently, seemingly gathering power to its peak, ready to unleash a tremendous explosion...
