I was momentarily taken aback, then hurriedly turned to look at the Death Apostle. I saw his face clouded with worry, his hands trembling as he clutched his staff, his eyes fixed on it as if he had seen something extraordinarily terrifying.
"What’s wrong? Is something off?" I knew that the Death Apostle must have discovered something.
The Death Apostle muttered to himself, "Five lines? How can there only be five? Could it be that he..."
His words not only piqued my curiosity but also drew the attention of Li Zhisheng and Haoyang, who turned their gazes toward him in unison.
"What’s going on? Can you explain clearly all at once?!" I asked anxiously, gripping the Death Apostle.
"Look..." The Death Apostle pulled us closer, one hand holding the staff while the other pointed at the dragon patterns on it. "One, two, three, four, five—there are only five dragons. Shen Xu, do you remember I told you that there are six ranks in the Yang Master?"
Suddenly, it dawned on me. Although this old man possessed the power of the Void God, he was merely ranked second; there were even more powerful enemies above him.
"Isn’t he already a Void God?! What could possibly be stronger than a Void God?! Has someone surpassed the Void God and reached a higher realm within the Yang Master?!" I murmured to myself as I pondered.
But as I considered various possibilities, an inexplicable sense of dread grew within me, as if an invisible hand was tightly gripping us all, ready to crush us at any moment.
"Wait a minute. In all my research over these days, there shouldn’t be anything stronger than a Void God. According to the historical records left by my family, it was once the Nine Void Deity who led all Yin Masters and Yang Masters. Beyond that, we would have to trace back to the era of Cangdi. Could it be Cangdi?!" Li Zhisheng said, turning to look at the sky where Li Yu and Fan were still locked in battle, his brow furrowing.
"No, it can't be Cangdi. Absolutely not," the Death Apostle asserted.
"What do you mean by that..." I began to ask when Li Zhisheng suddenly shouted in alarm, "Heart!" At his cry, a massive Golden Sphere plummeted from the sky toward us with incredible speed, containing a power far beyond what any of us could fathom.
As the sphere approached rapidly, we realized we had no time to escape. A tremendous sense of pressure emanated from beneath it, rendering us unable to move; even shifting our feet became exceedingly difficult.
"This is bad!" I thought to myself as life and death hung in the balance. Without further hesitation, I grasped Jiang Ling and swung it fiercely toward the sphere.
In a flash of Lightning Fast speed, countless dark Slash Marks appeared before me, forming a barrier made up of Slash Marks that shot straight toward the sphere.
"Whether we live or die rests on this strike!!" I roared as I controlled You Long to coil around Jiang Ling. Gathering all my strength, I hurled Jiang Ling forward with You Long entwined around it.
In an instant, Jiang Ling released his grip, and a pitch-black dragon emerged, enveloping him within its form. It roared as it charged through the barrier formed by the Slash Mark, heading straight for the sphere.
At that moment, I clenched my fists tightly, silently praying as sweat pooled in my palms from the tension.
As the You Long made contact with the yellow sphere, it suddenly unleashed a torrent of lightning-like black lines, slightly slowing the descent of the sphere.
However, the You Long could only delay it for a moment before both it and the barrier made of Slash Marks were shattered, vanishing into thin air in an instant.
The sphere continued to fall as if it had sustained no damage at all.
At that moment, despair washed over me; in the face of absolute power, any resistance felt utterly meaningless...
Just as everyone was engulfed in hopelessness, Li Zhisheng suddenly shouted, "Dad, save us!" He summoned every last bit of his strength to conjure a faint Black Sphere and launched it alongside an arrow made of blood from Yao Long toward the Golden Sphere.
As we watched their attacks evaporate before even reaching the sphere, despair deepened among us.
Suddenly, a flash of white light appeared before us. Just as the golden sphere was mere inches away, Li Yu appeared out of nowhere. He raised his hands high and caught it with sheer force, turning to shout at us, "Run!"
Hearing this, although everyone wanted to flee, our legs refused to obey. Having exhausted our last reserves of strength moments ago, we couldn't move our bodies at all.
"We can't move! We're completely immobilized!" Li Zhisheng replied.
Upon hearing this, Li Yu's expression turned grave. "If that's the case, let me show you your father's true power!" With that, the white light surrounding him grew increasingly radiant, surpassing even the brightness of the golden sphere.
At the moment when his light reached its peak intensity, it suddenly vanished. Now, Li Yu stood without any glow around him but still held up the sphere with all his might.
In that instant, I sensed that the power within him seemed to have disappeared entirely; there was no trace of strength left. "How could this be? Could it be that Li Bo...?" I wondered in shock. Even Yao Long and Li Zhisheng, who could sense power, wore expressions of utter astonishment.
"Dad, you..." Li Zhisheng said, tears shimmering in his eyes.
But what we didn't expect was that Li Yu heard Li Zhisheng's words. He slowly turned around, propping himself up with one hand on the sphere, and with a relaxed smile, he said to Li Zhisheng, "So, how about it? Is your dad handsome?"
