Although I understood that "regicide" refers to killing a king or father, the meaning of "the path of regicide" was somewhat unclear to me. I wanted to delve deeper into its significance and ask the old man why they referred to it as such, but Li Zhisheng beat me to it.

After hearing Li Zhisheng's words, the old man pondered for a moment and replied, "This is precisely where we are struggling. If these were merely ordinary Vengeful Spirits, we could handle them. The key lies within your Underworld Gate. My disobedient Disciple not only opened the Underworld Gate with his own life but also, to ensure that it wouldn't close due to diminishing power, he used his own transformed Void Spirit as a medium to continuously absorb Vengeful Spirits and inject their power into the Underworld Gate, preventing it from shutting."
"Originally, we planned to lure him out and eliminate him to close the Underworld Gate, but for some reason, he has remained hidden inside and refuses to show himself. Although we have the ability to subdue him, we lack the means to enter the Underworld Gate because none of us possess a Void Spirit."
Upon hearing this, I realized my suspicions were correct; they truly did not have a Void Spirit. It seemed that what he meant was for me to act as bait to draw that person out.
"So you need my help, right?" I asked.
The old man nodded. "Exactly. I wonder if you would be willing to assist us."
After hearing this, I hesitated. After all, the Void Spirit was not currently within me, and agreeing too hastily could put me in a dangerous situation.
"I understand your concerns. Don't worry; you only need to lure him out. The rest will be our responsibility," the old man said. The man who had just explained everything leaned in and whispered to the old man, "Master, let me go and confront him personally; it would resolve my own lingering thoughts."
The old man said nothing but silently nodded in agreement.
At that moment, Yao Long, standing in front of me, turned around with a worried expression and asked, "Shen Xu, are you sure you want to help them?"
I forced a smile. "It seems I have no other choice. I can't just stand by and watch those Vengeful Spirits harm innocent people. Besides, quite a few have already been released; dragging this out isn't a solution."
"Just be careful. Li Zhisheng and I will find ways to protect you."
I nodded at Yao Long and turned back to the old man. "Alright, I'll help you with this. When do we start?"
"Tonight, at the place where you used to live," the old man said.
"In that case, let's meet there at midnight. For now, we'll take our leave," I replied, cupping my fists in a gesture of respect. It felt a bit strange, but seeing them made me feel that this was the polite thing to do.
Afterward, we bid farewell to the group that called themselves the Slayers of Dao and made our way down from the rooftop with Yao Long and Li Zhisheng.
Once we reached the ground floor, I noticed that the ghosts around us had been cleared away, leaving the area empty and devoid of any Yin Qi.
"Where should we go now?" Yao Long asked.
"It's already noon. Let's grab something to eat first. Watching that old man eat dates earlier made me hungry..." I suggested. We found a nearby restaurant that was still open and casually ate some food before resting for a moment, feeling satisfied as we left.
Although it was past noon, there was still some time before nightfall. Taking advantage of this, I turned to Yao Long and said, "By the way, Yao Long, I remember you don’t have a mobile phone, right? Why not buy one now? It would be inconvenient without one."
"I just don't have the habit of using a phone. I'm afraid something might go wrong during missions," he replied.
Before he could finish, Li Zhisheng interrupted him. "You're not with Yang Master anymore; you don't need to worry about missions now. We often act separately, and having a phone would make communication easier. Last night, Shen Xu and Death Apostle were worried about you, but since you didn't have a phone, they couldn't reach you. I think Shen Xu is right; you need one now."
"Well, if that's the case... okay," Yao Long said after thinking it over. Although he seemed reluctant, he accepted our suggestion. So we accompanied him to get a SIM card and then went to an electronics market to buy a phone.
After an afternoon of running around, it was already evening, and the sun was slowly setting behind the mountains.
"It's about time; we should head over," I said while standing at the market entrance. Yao Long was engrossed in fiddling with his new phone. Since he hardly ever used one before, it was quite a novelty for him.
Seeing him so absorbed that he seemed not to hear me, I gently nudged him and said, "Hey, hey! Stop playing with your phone; it's yours now. You can play with it when we get back."
"Oh, I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention..." He quickly put his phone away. Then the three of us took a taxi to Huifeng District.
As the sun had already set, the area, which had become sparsely populated due to the lockdown, now felt even quieter. The faint sounds of the television that could barely be heard were completely gone, and the surroundings had turned eerily silent.
"Yao Long, do you know a way in?" I asked as I looked at the police standing by the barricade.
"I do. Follow me..." With that, Yao Long led me and Li Zhisheng around the perimeter of the barricade. Before long, we arrived next to a tall building with dozens of floors at the back of the area.
Yao Long stopped in front of the building, glanced around, and noticed that there were no patrolling officers nearby. He pointed above us and said, "Look, this is a twin tower; we can enter the restricted area from here."
Following his gesture, I looked in the direction he indicated and saw that a skybridge extended from the fifth floor of this building, directly crossing over the street to connect with another building on the opposite side. The building next to us also had an external staircase that led directly up to the bridge.
"Impressive! Even when I used to live here, I never noticed this bridge," I praised Yao Long.
However, Yao Long seemed unfazed. He calmly replied, "That's actually quite normal. We see things from different perspectives; what I can see might not be visible to you, and conversely, what you can see might not be something I notice..."
