At that moment, a thought suddenly flashed through my mind, "Is it the work of the Yang Master? But why would they do this? Are they trying to use my parents to threaten me?" I muttered to myself.
However, upon further reflection, something felt off. It wasn't just Xinzhu that they had taken; even the Divine Anomalies Classic: Nine Star Life and Death Diagram had been snatched away by the Sun Warrior Leader. Since they had gotten what they wanted, why would they still resort to such methods to threaten me? What else did I have that was worth their trouble?
Just as I was pondering this, a voice that was both unfamiliar and familiar rang out from beside the door: "Well, Dad was right after all. You really did come here."
I turned to look and saw the "son" of the Sun Warrior Leader leaning against the doorframe, grinning at me.
"It's you?! How did you find this place?" I demanded.
"Why wouldn't it be me? If we could kidnap your family, isn't it only natural for us to find them again?"
"Indeed, it is you!" I clenched my fists in fury and strode towards him.
As I approached, I grabbed the collar of his shirt. He was slender, and I easily lifted him off the ground. "Where have you taken my parents?!"
Not only did he show no fear, but he also appeared relaxed as he said, "Let go of me. There's no need to get worked up. Let's talk nicely..."
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly kicked me in the abdomen.
At that moment, since the Void Spirit had not yet awakened, I bore the full force of his kick and let out a muffled groan as I fell to my knees.
"We did take your parents, but there's no need for you to get so angry. We just wanted them for a chat over tea because Dad wanted to have a word with them."
"How convenient..." I covered my aching abdomen with one hand and struggled to stand up. "Do you think I'm three years old? If you really haven't harmed them, then what about that pool of blood on the ground?" With that, I freed one hand and aimed a punch at his cheek, tightening my fist and swinging with all my might.
In an instant, there was a loud "smack" as my fist was caught just an inch away from his face.
"I told you, let's talk nicely!" The moment he grasped my fist, he suddenly exerted force, twisting it sharply before sweeping my legs out from under me. I lost my balance and flipped one hundred eighty degrees in mid-air before crashing face-first onto the ground.
The impact left me reeling; it was hard to get back up as a metallic taste filled my mouth. At the same time, I felt a foot pressing down on my back, rendering me completely immobile.
"Now can we have a proper chat?" The young man leaned down slowly with a mocking expression on his face and spoke softly.
"What do you want?!" I demanded sharply.
The man smiled slightly. "Actually, it's nothing much. My father just wants to invite you to have a chat. I wonder what you think about that?"
Before I could respond, he continued, "Oh, right, I almost forgot. You shouldn't have any reason to refuse, after all, your parents are still talking with my father. What reason do you have not to go? So it's settled then, let's go..."
With that, he moved his foot away from my back and pretended to extend a hand to help me up.
I ignored him, swatting his hand away as I slowly stood up from the ground. "Why are you looking for me? Haven't you already taken everything you wanted?! What else do you want?!"
"Well..." He feigned contemplation. "That's a good question, but the problem is, I don't know what my father wants either, so you don't need to ask me. Now, there are two paths in front of you: one; you come with me to see my father. Two; you don't come with me... but if that's the case, your parents might..."
Before he could finish, I quickly agreed, "Fine, I'll go with you, but you must guarantee my parents' safety!"
Upon hearing this, he curled his lip. "Well, that's not up to me; it all depends on my father's mood~" He seemed unconcerned.
At that moment, I wanted to lash out but couldn't. After all, I didn't have Jiang Ling with me; they probably took him along with the Divine Anomalies Classic: Nine Star Life and Death Diagram. Facing this man, I was definitely no match for him, especially since my parents were in their hands... Although I couldn't be sure he wasn't lying, it was better to pretend to cooperate just in case.
With that thought in mind, I sighed and said coldly, "No matter what happens, I'm going with you. But when I meet your so-called father, you must let me see my parents."
To my surprise, he shook his head helplessly after hearing this. "I'm just the messenger here; all these matters are decided by my father. Whether or not you want to come with me is up to you; everything else is beyond my control." With that, he turned around and prepared to leave.
Seeing this situation unfold made me anxious, but there was nothing I could do but follow him and find out what was really going on. If I discovered that my parents weren't in their hands and they were just playing tricks on me, then it wouldn't be too late for me to run away since the leader of the Yang Master didn't seem inclined to kill me.
Lost in thought, I followed the man as we walked out of the area.
When we reached the entrance, a silver sedan was parked not far away. A few burly men stood beside it with their hands clasped behind their backs and no expression on their faces.
As I approached the leading man, the burly men slightly bowed to us before opening the car door and gesturing for us to get in.
I had no words and simply followed the leading man into the back seat of the car.
At that moment, there was already a person sitting in the driver's seat. Seeing us arrive, he asked in a rough voice, "Er Ye, can we go now?"
The man sitting next to me nodded, "Let's go, everyone is here..."
As soon as he finished speaking, the driver started the car and drove towards the city exit.
Inside the car, I thought to myself that since there were fewer people now, perhaps I could extract some information from him. It might serve as leverage against the leader of Yang Master to rescue my parents.
With this in mind, I attempted to ask him, "Hey, why does he call you Er Ye? Are you the second in command in Yang Master?"
"I think you might be misunderstanding. I'm not second in command; they call me that just because of my name... Aren't you worried about your parents? Why are you suddenly interested in this?" he replied.
"Since they're in your hands, worrying doesn't help, does it? Instead of this, why don't we all have a chat? Maybe we can find a better way to negotiate," I suggested.
