Void Spirit sensed danger and attempted to retreat from Yao Long's strike, but Yao Long had no intention of giving Void Spirit that opportunity. With a blank expression, he lunged forward, closing the distance, and suddenly unleashed a powerful thrust with his arm, accompanied by an overwhelming force.
Void Spirit was taken aback, initially thinking that this blow would merely push him away. However, as Yao Long's fist left his body, he saw a cone of blue flames had already formed in front of the punch, piercing through his chest before either he or Void Spirit could react.
"This guy is really going for the kill..." Void Spirit managed to steady himself, clutching his chest.
At this moment, we had been sent flying over ten meters by Yao Long's punch, and the internal energy within us had diminished significantly due to the severe damage.
Seeing that we did not retaliate, Yao Long showed no mercy and charged at us again with a swift step.
This time, he had gathered even greater power in his left fist. It seemed he intended to end the battle once and for all. Meanwhile, most of Void Spirit's strength was focused on healing his wounds, leaving him unable to muster any extra power to defend. If he didn't recover quickly, my body would soon succumb to excessive blood loss, leading to even more serious consequences.
The situation was dire; with Yao Long only a few steps away from us, I anxiously urged Void Spirit, "Get out of the way! It's going to be too late! Yao Long seems completely out of control now; even his mind must be under Pusa's control!"
Upon hearing this, Void Spirit quickly diverted the energy he was using to heal his wounds throughout his body in preparation for Yao Long's attack. But just as he reacted, Yao Long's left fist, glowing with brilliant blue light, was already right in front of me.
I heard Void Spirit close his eyes and softly say, "It's too late..."
In that moment, despair washed over me. "Is even Void Spirit giving up?!"
As I thought this, with Void Spirit's eyes tightly shut, I couldn't see what was happening either; I was engulfed in darkness filled with endless despair...
Suddenly, I felt my body tilt slightly as an immense force rushed past me with a fierce wind.
"Did... did we dodge it?" I thought hopefully. Just then, I heard a mournful cry behind me: "No! How could this happen? You were supposed to have given up!"
At the sound of that voice, Void Spirit opened his eyes. I noticed that Yao Long had vanished from sight; instead, there was a glow of blue light emanating from behind us.
"Give up?" Void Spirit smirked confidently without looking back. "How could I give up so easily? I am the God King!
Suddenly, a loud roar erupted behind me, accompanied by a powerful shockwave that followed closely. The Void Spirit seemed to have anticipated this; it had already distributed its strength throughout my body to maintain balance. Then, it drove Jiang Ling into the ground, bracing against the force coming from behind.
After a moment, as the shockwave subsided, the blue light emanating from Yao Long gradually weakened.
"Now it's your turn..." The Void Spirit withdrew Jiang Ling and transferred control of the body back to me.
As I regained control, I immediately felt an unusual heaviness in my body; my legs felt as if they were filled with lead, making it difficult to move. Nevertheless, I quickly turned around. Behind me, Yao Long lay sprawled on the ground, the blue flames surrounding him had mostly faded, with only a faint blue flame lingering on his right arm, seemingly using the Void Spirit's power to heal his wounds.
"Yao Long! Are you alright?" Seeing him motionless, I called out and rushed over to help him up.
"I'm fine, thanks to Pusa giving me strength so I don't have to endure the pain. However, it seems the cost is quite high..." Yao Long said, glancing at my blood-stained shirt with a wry smile.
"It's okay, as long as you're safe. Let's get out of here first..." I said, turning around and lifting Yao Long onto my back. Using the faint blue flame on his arm as a guide, I found the discarded Azure Spirit in the darkness and placed it in his hands.
Then, I summoned what little strength I had left and leaped upward. The chasm was too deep, and given my current weakness, I couldn't jump straight out; I needed to leap partway and then push off the earthen wall to gain more height.
As I climbed upward, I asked the Void Spirit in my mind what had just happened.
"You wouldn't feel it strange; I didn't expect it either. Just like when you faced an unbeatable enemy before, this was a desperate gamble on my part," the Void Spirit replied.
"I thought you had a plan to outsmart Pusa; I didn't realize you..."
"I did come up with a plan earlier, but Pusa saw right through it. It seems capable of perceiving thoughts deep within one's soul through their body. So I deduced that no matter what strategy I devised, it would be exposed. Thus, I had no choice but to rely on instinct," the Void Spirit explained.
"In fact, after going through so many battles, your responses to enemies are deeply ingrained in your body. Plus, during our previous dream training, I taught you how to sense enemies using your power. So even without relying on your eyes, you can still 'see.' What I did at the last moment—dispersing my power—was merely preparation for resisting that impact."
"Strictly speaking, it was you who used Yao Long's power to eliminate Pusa—not me—because this relied on your body's instinctive reactions for combat and survival."
After hearing Void Spirit's explanation, I finally understood why he was taking such a desperate gamble.
Realizing this, I felt Yao Long behind me go silent. Unsure of the situation, I was about to ask when I suddenly heard the sound of rushing water above us.
Looking up, I saw a torrent of blood cascading down from above, as if it were raining blood in the void.
Seeing the fierce onslaught of blood, I realized that given our current position, we would likely be swept back down to the bottom again. If that happened, it would take even more effort to climb back up.
Thinking this, I tightened my grip on Jiang Ling and unleashed a Slash Mark to cleave through the blood, using it to propel myself upward. I called out to Yao Long behind me, "Yao Long, hold on tight!"
As soon as I finished speaking, Yao Long stopped me with his left hand holding Azure Spirit. "You only have enough power left for one more strike; let me handle this..."
"But your hand..." I turned to look at Yao Long and saw him struggling to lift Azure Spirit with his left hand. He had bitten down on the bowstring and fully drawn the bow, with a brilliant blue arrow nocked and aimed directly at the blood waterfall pouring down above us.
