Skeleton Mutant continued to proliferate and evolve... This was a troubling dilemma that had to be faced. At least for the time being, Skeleton Mutant had become one of the threats to them, and within this Subterranean Spaceship, only one type of organism could ultimately remain. Either it would be the Skeleton Mutant or humanity itself.
Xiao Qiang believed, "There exists a mysterious layer between the massive tectonic plates of the Earth. This thin boundary sandwiched between two Rock Layers—the harder lithosphere and the softer Magma Layer—resembles the jam between a peanut butter sandwich." His confidence in this statement was not unfounded. He had once seen a study on geological layers that noted: scientists believed it could be moist rock or even partially molten rock, but no one could definitively say what it actually was.
Lin Yu was puzzled. "What do you mean by that?"
"My meaning is quite clear; this kind of vibration cannot cause a complete collapse. Because it has Tectonic Plates, which are similar to artificial stone slabs..."
"I understand now. The Tectonic Plates provide support; they do not belong to those fragile, collapsible geological interfaces? That's why some areas experience earthquakes year after year, while others may go a decade without a single tremor?"
"Exactly—so we can only rely on self-rescue..." Xiao Qiang gave Lin Yu a determined and encouraging look. As they spoke, the disturbances from the Ground gradually diminished... even the recently established connection signal faded away after a few minutes.
Lin Yu, who was gazing up at the movements of the Ground, immediately realized a serious issue upon hearing Xiao Qiang. The Skeleton Mutant still existed. However, time was one of the true indicators of how events would unfold. Xiao Qiang slapped Lin Yu's hand in a moment of panic and said urgently, "We need detonators, uranium... If you can manage that, I have a way to deal with these bastards."

"Are you feeling unwell?" A gentle voice filled with concern pierced through Wen Kai's pain-stricken heart. His eyes shimmered with a flicker of light, his nostrils flared, and his lips trembled as if he wanted to say something...
Seeing this, Xiao Qiang quickly suppressed his smile. "Time waits for no one; we should retreat to the control room and make further plans."
Without hesitation, they sprang into action. Xiao Qiang took the rear while Lin Yu supported Wen Kai. The three of them hurried back to the control room before the Skeleton Mutant launched its final attack.
The control room was several hundred meters away from the spacecraft's exit, which was also why Xiao Qiang had considered it as a potential escape route. Fixating on the lights of the control room and the crackling electromagnetic interference from the monitor, an idea struck him: the Arc Light could generate ultraviolet rays. They could concentrate all energy sources in the control room and use the Arc Light to eliminate the remaining Skeleton Mutant.
His suggestion quickly received Lin Yu's approval. "I'll add a little more firepower at the end..."
Xiao Qiang felt uneasy about Lin Yu's notion of adding firepower (using her Ability). With a furrowed brow and deep-set eyes filled with concern, he looked at her and insisted, "When your body is in a state of hunger, your physical functions are weakened. If you activate your Ability now, it would be akin to suicide."
In the end, Lin Yu accepted Xiao Qiang's reasoning and focused on taking care of Wen Kai.
Xiao Qiang began implementing measures to cut off the electrical sources leading to various passages.
The channels were instantly plunged into darkness, with only the control room illuminated—a location where the Skeleton Mutants were about to concentrate their forces for an attack.
Time ticked by, and there was almost no movement from the Ground. Xiao Qiang realized that at the very top of this geological layer, there must be a type of clay, similar in nature to glutinous rice. Under the recent violent impacts, the clay would only compact rather than continue to spread and collapse.
With everything ready, Xiao Qiang instructed Lin Yu to help lift Wen Kai and withdraw through the ventilation shaft from the control room. He blocked the doorway, drawing the attention of the Skeleton Mutants that were already rushing in, battering the Gate with their Wings.
Lin Yu hoisted Wen Kai's heavy body, helping him squeeze through, and took one last look at Xiao Qiang before following him into the shaft.
As soon as she crawled into the ventilation shaft, she recalled touching something sticky earlier. Now that she thought about it, that sticky substance must have been remnants of a corpse. Next to the skeleton lay a Curved Kitchen Knife; this deceased individual was likely connected to a chef. It wasn't hard to imagine that in life, this person had used that knife to fend off the flesh-eating Skeleton Mutants, which explained why the blade was so warped.
Since this was beneath the Stratum, the skeleton wouldn't decay or weather away anytime soon. Just like how a chef preserved human flesh, it could last for several months or even a year. The temperature of the Stratum was suitable for food storage and wouldn’t damage other deceased beings' bones.
Wen Kai struggled to crawl, requiring Lin Yu to push him forward... Behind them came the sound of Laser Flame Guns firing. Tears welled up in her eyes as she silently wished for Xiao Qiang to make it through safely and appear before her once more.
Xiao Qiang gritted his teeth, his vision clouded with rage. He unleashed a barrage at the Skeleton Mutants surging toward the Gate. Cursing loudly, he shouted, "Grandma's Bear! Come on, you filthy bugs! Your grandpa—I'll treat you to braised skeleton!"
