The vehicle resembled a giant magnet, with immense pulling power, attracting hundreds of Abnormal Humanoids that surrounded it in layers. Beneath the wheels, countless Abnormal Humanoids were crushed to death, making it nearly impossible for the vehicle to move.
The Strange Woman's injuries were stabilizing and healing quickly, but she appeared anxious, nervously glancing back and forth at the Abnormal Humanoids.
Feng shot a glare at the Strange Woman. "These creatures are coming for you. You... should get down!"
"Hmph! Ugly freak, what right do you have to tell me to get down? If anyone should sacrifice themselves, it should be you, the ugly one."
"Who are you calling ugly?" Feng retorted angrily.
The Strange Woman squinted and provocatively replied, "Hmph, how amusing. Is there a second ugly freak here?"
"You..." Feng was furious and instinctively touched her already numb cheek, gritting her teeth in frustration as she shot back, "These little pimples could never affect my beauty! I say, you, this woman who appeared out of nowhere, are the most vicious in the world. Though you have a charming facade, who knows what kind of monster you really are?"
The Strange Woman's limits were pushed by Feng's words; she turned around in fury and grabbed Feng, pulling and wrestling with her.
Feng wasn't afraid; she slapped the Strange Woman across the face... 'Smack!' The sound was crisp and loud, releasing her pent-up frustration in a satisfying way.
The Strange Woman was at a disadvantage and lunged at Feng with a fierce expression, extending her fingers to grab her—
Feng couldn't dodge in time and felt a sharp pain in her jaw that made tears spring to her eyes.
Xiao Qiang was focused on the front but heard commotion behind him. Turning his head, he saw that the two women had started fighting without him noticing. He shouted, "You two really can't focus! Is this the time to be fighting?"
"Wildfire, throw this stubborn woman off!" Feng said angrily while touching her bloodied chin.
"We can't split up; we can't leave anyone behind," Xiao Qiang said firmly.
The Strange Woman looked down at Feng with disdain and scoffed through her nose. "Who knows who will die first? Don't forget we're all in this together now; we’re like grasshoppers on the same rope. We’re all going to end up dead soon—especially you... They will lick your blood, devour your Brain Essence, and tear you apart."
"You..."
"Enough! Stop it," Xiao Qiang interjected sternly. He switched to a more serious tone. "Feng, did you hear what I just said?"
Feng clenched her fists, her teeth grinding in frustration as she avoided the gaze of the Strange Woman that sent chills down her spine. She turned to Xiao Qiang and asked, "What?"
"Is there a waterway nearby?"
"You want to take the water route? Don't forget this is a vehicle; it can only run on land..."
The situation was urgent, and time was of the essence. Xiao Qiang glanced out the window, seeing the Abnormal Humanoids charging toward them like a swarm of locusts. He cut straight to the point, "Just tell me if there is or isn't; no more nonsense..."
He understood that within the unspoken rules of the Abnormal Humanoids, there were still flaws yet to be addressed. It reminded him of the scene he had witnessed upon entering Zone A5, where these Abnormal Humanoids successfully intercepted them. The aftermath was not heroic but rather horrific... their bodies would be torn apart into countless pieces by the overwhelming power of the Abnormal Humanoids.
Xiao Qiang even suspected this was part of an organized plan by the Abnormal Humanoids. They didn't want to hinder their mutation and evolution due to a severe lack of Human Blood, which could lead to their extinction. Thus, some Abnormal Humanoids had to be sacrificed to ensure that the younger ones could continue to thrive.
"There is! But we have to exit here and take a narrow alley. If we get through, there’s a Moat."
"Okay." Xiao Qiang's gaze sharpened as he instructed the two women behind him, "Let’s cooperate well; we all need to survive." With that, he changed the unit settings and activated the emergency system, putting the vehicle into combat mode.
The two women exchanged wary glances, their hearts racing as they wondered what their next move should be.
Feng's thoughts leaned toward fighting fiercely; if she was going to die, she wanted it to be spectacular. In a situation where they were outnumbered, taking down hundreds of Abnormal Humanoids for just one life seemed worth it.
The Strange Woman did not want to die; she still had a mission to complete, making her far more anxious than Feng.
The vehicle shook violently, startling both women. Once they steadied themselves and looked closely, they were secretly astonished. It felt as if Xiao Qiang was performing magic; in an instant, the vehicle's wheels retracted and tracks slid out. Although they couldn't see what was happening outside, from within, it was clear that the vehicle had transformed into an amphibious armored vehicle.
"Yay!" Feng exclaimed excitedly, sharing a knowing smile with the Strange Woman before awkwardly breaking eye contact.
To turn into the alley, they needed to break through the wall of Abnormal Humanoids blocking the entrance. Additionally, there were countless Abnormal Humanoids climbing on top of the vehicle that needed to be dealt with.
Feng suggested, "Should I clear a path?"
"We'll go together; you lift up the seat cushion," Xiao Qiang replied calmly and confidently, exuding a sense of stability that instantly calmed both women.
Feng felt grateful for Xiao Qiang's decision; he chose to fight alongside her while completely disregarding the seemingly alluring woman beside them.
"I'm going too," the Strange Woman insisted, unwilling to be left out.
"How shameless!" Feng muttered under her breath. She lifted the base and her eyes lit up in surprise. "A laser Flame Gun?"
Xiao Qiang seemed to deliberately ignore the Strange Woman's request and only spoke to Feng. "Quickly put it on your arm and get ready for action."
"Okay." Feng swiftly equipped the weapon, elegantly twisting her body as she waited for Xiao Qiang to open the car door. She was fully prepared to engage and take down those damned Abnormal Humanoids.
"You..." Xiao Qiang addressed the Strange Woman, his gaze unwavering yet firm. "You stay in the car. Stay alert and watch for my signals."
"One, two, three, go!" The two agile figures burst out, gunfire erupting with a 'tat tat tat' as blue flames shot from the barrels, catching the Abnormal Humanoids off guard, leaving them in disarray.
The sound of gunfire awakened Xiao Qiang's dormant memories, bringing back scenes from the Battle of the Island. Those were good times, fighting alongside five War Orphans... The laser Flame Gun unleashed its maximum energy, sweeping through hordes of Abnormal Humanoids, leaving many dead. The newly appeared Abnormal Humanoids sensed danger and began to retreat slowly, yet they still lurked nearby.
Xiao Qiang turned back to give the Strange Woman an OK sign before opening the car door... He slipped into the driver's seat.
Feng was a moment too slow; an Abnormal Humanoid lunged at her, grabbing her foot. "Get lost!" she shouted as she kicked it away. 'Tat tat tat'—the Abnormal Humanoid's head exploded, splattering foul blood everywhere, leaving a terrible stench.
