The Main Conference Room was spacious. Beneath the enormous wide screen, a row of impeccably dressed dignitaries and business professionals sat in neat order. On the surface, they appeared no different from humans, but upon closer inspection, their eyes glowed a blood-red hue. 0

Bloodthirsty and seeking immortality, this was the gospel they yearned for. However, no one anticipated that the shortage of Human Blood would become an obstacle to prolonging their lives. 0

They were willing to pay exorbitant prices for Human Blood, purchasing resources and hiring experts to tackle this alarming and unsettling dilemma. 0

This was a closed meeting attended by high-ranking individuals from Zone A5, concerning the survival of the Abnormal Humanoid race. Therefore, the contents of the meeting were confidential; any leaks could easily lead to violence and irrationality. Once conditions changed, it was often just a step from foolishness to mob mentality. The discussion began with the severe shortage of Human Blood resources. 0

Under electronic control, a gaunt Humanoid Puppet with severely distorted features appeared on the screen. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Lin Fan, an expert in blood configuration genetics, along with Yuan Qi, the head of the blood supply center. 0

Lin Fan stated, "They belong to the Stratum residents. Due to prolonged difficulty in obtaining sufficient Human Blood, their limbs and organs have undergone substantial changes. For example, their noses and ears have become pointed, resembling bats. Their eyes are sunken, facial muscles atrophied, and bones protruding. This is one characteristic; another is that children in their early years may stop growing due to a long-term shortage of Human Blood supply, leading to stunted growth and deformities. Adults or middle-aged individuals in this stage experience organ failure when deprived of Human Blood nourishment, leading to degeneration of limbs and ultimately losing their sanity, resulting in violence and chaos as they scream in agony..." 0

Before Lin Fan could finish his statement, a wave of anxious whispers erupted from the audience. 0

"Nonsense! You're a blood research doctor; we have plenty of money! Hurry up and find a way to produce Human Blood!" 0

"This is terrifying! I don’t want to end up like that..." A woman screamed in horror, staring at the grotesque monster on the screen. 0

Lin Fan broke into a cold sweat, frantically wiping his brow while casting a pleading glance at Yuan Qi. He simply lacked the authority to quell their uproar. 0

"Silence! Allow Yuan to speak," Yuan Qi interjected. "Dr. Lin Fan has developed a resource that can replace Human Blood. If the experiment is successful, we will immediately enter mass production. I believe it will meet everyone's needs." 0

As soon as Yuan Qi's words were spoken, the room fell silent; everyone listened intently to his explanation. Lin Fan then pressed a button, causing a section of the wall to open automatically, revealing a transparent Crystal Wall. From within the conference room, they could see clearly into the Crystal Wall beyond. 0

Inside the transparent Crystal Wall was a spacious operating room that also served as a laboratory. On the bed lay a healthy-looking Humanoid Puppet man. He had volunteered to be a Test Subject for the Simulated Blood resource that Lin Fan, Ph.D., had painstakingly developed. The success of this endeavor hinged on today. 0

The difference between Simulated Blood and Human Blood was significant; it could very well be rejected upon entering the capillaries of an Abnormal Humanoid. If the body's instinctive resistance could withstand the rejection phase, then Simulated Blood would signify a step toward success. 0

However, if the body could not resist the rejection, the consequences would be dire—Simulated Blood would spread through the body like mercury once injected into the capillaries of an Abnormal Humanoid. If the Experimental Subject could not safely endure the rejection phase, the blood would become an invisible bomb lurking within, ready to turn the Experimental Subject into a pulp! 0

In fact, Lin Fan proposed the development of Simulated Blood resources with the principle of wanting to coexist peacefully with humanity. With Yuan Qi's covert support, he dared to conduct experiments with Simulated Blood. 0

Both he and Yuan Qi resisted the strange messages transmitted in their brains, as if there were another version of themselves existing within. 0

As simulated Human Blood entered the Experimental Subject, a nurse continuously reported various abnormal data appearing in the subject's body after receiving Simulated Blood. 0

"Temperature rising—45 degrees—52 degrees—68 degrees. Still increasing... Blood pressure is dropping, continuously dropping, then suddenly skyrocketing..." 0

Lin Fan could no longer remain calm alongside others observing the Experimental Subject's reactions. He was sweating profusely and decided to enter the laboratory personally to supervise. 0

Yuan Qi entered and emotionally grasped the Test Subject's hand, kindly asking, "How do you feel?" 0

The Test Subject blinked his blood-red eyes and managed a faint smile. "Not much..." But before he could finish his sentence, his face suddenly contorted violently, twisting in discomfort. 0

"Deep breaths, deep breaths!" Lin Fan was extremely anxious. This was a life-or-death situation; so many people outside were watching. They were all wealthy patrons who had invested money; if this failed, who would fund research in the future? 0

Moreover, there would be severe repercussions for failure. As for what those repercussions were, Lin Fan knew all too well. 0

The Experimental Subject followed Lin Fan's instructions, taking deep breaths. "Good, just like that. Once the rejection period is over, you'll be safe." The Experimental Subject managed a bitter smile at him before suddenly tilting their head… Bang! A loud noise erupted, and the nurse and a female doctor screamed, their bodies splattered with what appeared to be blood and flesh. 0

The operating table where the Experimental Subject lay exploded, leaving only the wrist restraints behind. The rest was a scene of bloodstains that soaked the pristine white sheets. 0

The simulation of Human Blood had failed! Yuan Qi's superior stormed into the operating room, furious, and slapped Lin Fan across the face. The impact left Lin Fan dizzy, nearly causing him to fall, but he managed to brace himself against the wall. 0

That slap jolted him awake; he felt like a cold-blooded killer who had just taken a life in mere minutes. Staring blankly at the empty operating table, he trembled as he approached it, feeling unsteady on his feet. 0

Seeing this, Yuan Qi hurried over to support Lin Fan and smiled apologetically at their furious superior. "The Test Subject didn't explode in such a short time; this indicates progress. Just give Dr. Lin some time, and he will surely improve." 0

"How much time is needed? A week? A month? Or half a year?" The superior sneered. "By the time your simulation of Human Blood is developed, Area A5 will have become a dead zone. Hmph! Yuan Qi, deal with that group of Stratum troublemakers tomorrow. A small punishment for a greater warning to prevent similar groups from causing further disturbances." 0

"Understood." Yuan Qi was deeply worried about his daughter; he had no idea where she was. Had that warrior named Wildfire seen her? Tomorrow would be a brutal day, with many low-level Abnormal Humanoids facing extermination. 0
