The flashing alarm blared, drawing a squad of soldiers armed with AK402 submachine guns rushing in from all directions. However, Xiao Qiang was solely focused on dealing with the monster behind the Tempered Glass wall.
Separated by a 12mm thick Tempered Glass barrier, a powerful magnetic force was attempting to disrupt Xiao Qiang's consciousness. As he leaned in closer, a sudden dizziness struck him; the polygonal cauldron seemed empty—
The thickness of the glass wall obstructed any further visibility. Suddenly, from a writhing mass of tentacles below, a triangular head emerged. It had a pair of tiny eyes that resembled glass beads.
It stared intently at Xiao Qiang, its gaze radiating a strange light.
Xiao Qiang began to retreat, continuing to back away—an intense sensation flooded his mind.
Behind him was a barrage of gunfire creating a web of bullets. He closed his eyes slightly, focusing on the consciousness energy emanating from the monster within the glass wall.
Suddenly, the gunfire stopped abruptly, and a shadow leaped swiftly towards him—Xiao Qiang swayed his body to evade the heavy strike and focused to see Visitor—Li Hang! He paused for a moment, realizing how quick his opponent was. A long, sharp finger made of super aluminum alloy pressed against his neck! Any slight movement would surely pierce his throat.
The wind had been subdued by Wen Kai, leaving him unable to move.
Professor R floated by silently with a sinister smile—“Kid, looks like you’ve gained some experience.”
“Professor,” Xiao Qiang greeted reluctantly.
“Kid, it seems… you’re a Head Wolf.” The professor said as he walked straight up to the glass wall, then turned back to look at Xiao Qiang: “You don’t want to live? It’s a product of the military; go ahead and try killing it if you want to die.”
“How is that possible? You… you’re with the military?”
“What do you think? After all these years, who do you think has been feeding you? Remember, kid, you grew up on government aid.”
“So what? The country…” Xiao Qiang was speechless; any slight movement made Li Hang tighten his grip, causing blood to trickle from his neck.
The wind twisted; any struggle brought similar pain.
The professor's expression darkened as he ordered Li Hang and Wen Kai: “Take them both down and keep them under strict watch.”
Xiao Qiang felt furious but helplessly looked at Li Hang and Wen Kai, hoping they would have a change of heart and release him and the wind. Instead, he saw their cold expressions, as indifferent as strangers.
This time he felt that Wen Kai and Li Hang were not clones. They were real people, but why were they treating him with such indifference? Xiao Qiang was being held captive, and his mind raced, but he couldn't come up with a reason.
In the laboratory, the lights reflected off the blue glass walls, casting a surreal play of shadows. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the light.
"Professor, it's a pleasure to cooperate!"
The Professor R didn't even lift his eyelids, coldly replying, "Tell your master that I have done what I needed to do. Everything in the past is wiped clean."
"Of course, I must thank the professor for his assistance."
The professor suddenly turned around, staring blankly at the enchanting woman. "You remember this: regardless of the circumstances, do not think about harming JD Member. Otherwise, you and your master will face dire consequences."
"How could that be, Professor... I have an unspoken request and hope you can grant it."
"Plum Blossom Rain, you are not in a position to negotiate with me. Get lost!"
"Hmph! Old man, you don't know what's good for you." Plum Blossom Rain pouted and pulled out a controller, shooting blue arcs of light at the glass wall. The multi-tentacled monster inside immediately lay down, like a tamed lapdog.
"Your Mr. C is a pervert who uses aliens to control humans in pursuit of immortality?"
Plum Blossom Rain giggled and said, "Doesn't the professor desire immortality?" With that, her smile deepened as she cast a sinister glance in the direction Xiao Qiang and the others had left, whispering, "I want that handsome guy; what do you think, Professor?"
"Hahahaha." The professor suddenly burst into laughter, startling Plum Blossom Rain so much that she shivered, momentarily unsure why he was laughing.
"You think you deserve him... Don't forget what you are."
Plum Blossom Rain gritted her teeth in anger but dared not lash out; she still needed this old man to help conceal the monster. The creature posed no threat to Professor R because he had raised it himself since it emerged from the Uterus. It was then sold to Mr. C, the son of the original major shareholder, for research into immortality experiments.
Reluctantly and angrily, the professor helped set up the bag that Plum Blossom Rain had brought with her.
The two stood there, both reluctant to make close contact with the creature. The monster exuded a sticky, rancid odor that was utterly disgusting to touch.
The monster was extracted from the belly of the headless skeleton known as Uterus Mutant by Professor R. During its cultivation process, it was discovered that it evolved rapidly and took on a terrifying appearance, resembling an alien with eight tentacles. It belonged to an organic life form—deaf, relying on sensing, smell, and sight.
After being tamed by Mr. C, it gained the ability to remotely control human thoughts and consciousness, aiming to utilize its powers to alter human genes and achieve immortality.
Mr. C outfitted the creature in a type of bioengineering suit and placed it on an artificial satellite, launching it into space to naturally absorb cosmic microorganisms. Once its energy was fully charged, the furnace (or battle) would automatically detach from the celestial body and fall into Human Testing Zone A5.
Everything was under Mr. C's meticulous planning until an unexpected variable emerged in the form of Cheng Yaojin Xiao Qiang. Fearing complications, the behind-the-scenes boss Mr. C had no choice but to send Snake Woman Mei Hua Yu into action.
None of this was known to Xiao Qiang and his companions, including Matt, who remained oblivious. Professor R refused to submit to Mr. C, but unfortunately, this man had a powerful backer behind him.
Xiao Qiang's speculation was half correct; the monster indeed sought to break free from someone's control. It possessed enough energy and connections with extraterrestrial biological alliances, but unfortunately, it was sabotaged by the wolf mentioned by Professor R.
Like a mantis stalking its prey, Xiao Qiang gazed at the now calm A5 zone under the sunlight. On the streets, people who had regained their freedom walked back and forth. They seemed to have experienced a long and terrifying nightmare; upon waking, they found their families shattered and homes destroyed. A few individuals had fragmented memories that they could not piece together, while most seemed completely amnesiac as if waking from a nightmare.
Yuan Qi and Lin Fan were restrained in Professor R's vehicle. They had been knocked unconscious by Wen Kai with an iron rod, leaning against their seats in a dazed state.
Professor R emerged and casually instructed Wen Kai to discard the two unconscious individuals by the roadside before taking Xiao Qiang and Feng away.
