The seemingly separated small rooms were actually a series of small Cultivation Rooms. Inside each transparent object, resembling Breeding Bags of various sizes, strange creatures were being nurtured. These beings were the result of a fusion between human genes and animal DNA, a blatant violation of the laws of nature. 0

Within the bluish transparent containers, bizarre life forms were developing. They possessed life and grew day by day in the Cultivation Room. It was not hard to imagine that these carnivorous creatures, once they matured and sprouted a pair of Wings, would become humanity's adversaries. Being in this place, one could not shake off the feeling of being enveloped by a secretive, eerie, and chilling atmosphere. 0

Xiao Qiang used Wu Yi's watch to record the situation inside the room. He inspected each of these grotesque genetic combinations, and one in particular caught his attention—a creature with Wings and a face resembling that of an owl. 0

As he focused on it, he suddenly felt that the strange creature's eyelids twitched as if it were about to open its eyes. Startled, Xiao Qiang instinctively took a step back, accidentally stepping on Wu Yi's foot. 0

"Hey..." Wu Yi exclaimed in surprise as he pulled his foot back. "What's wrong, Qiangzi?" He frowned and looked down at his foot that had been stepped on. 0

Xiao Qiang forced himself to calm down and cleared his throat. "It's nothing... Let's hurry up and destroy this place!" 0

"Then step back and let me show you how it's done." 0

Wu Yi steadied his arm and raised his AK42 submachine gun, unleashing a barrage of gunfire at the transparent objects. The sharp sounds echoed as the embryos within the breeding bags perished upon exposure to the contaminated air without even struggling. 0

The soldiers in the Ground room had failed in their duty to protect the Bioengineered Humans and were demoralized after suffering various injuries. When they suddenly heard gunfire coming from the basement, they stood up in shock and rushed toward it. 0

At that moment, Xiao Qiang and Wu Yi had already quietly retreated through another exit. The eastern sky was gradually revealing a streak of pale light; dawn had arrived. The earth merged into the spreading haziness of morning light, faintly revealing distant trees and winding roads leading to nearby villages. 0

Xiao Qiang and his companion needed to rendezvous with Gui Ye. Relying on his memory, Xiao Qiang quickly found the route they had taken at night. The journey from the hospital to the warehouse was quite long, and after a night of fierce battles, both men were utterly exhausted. 0

Strangely enough, there were hardly any humans or vehicles on this road. Xiao Qiang thought that in this remote mountain village, surviving Nuclear Radiation was already a miracle; those who lived here had either died or fled, leaving very few behind. It was precisely because of this advantageous environment that some wicked individuals found opportunities for wrongdoing. The Kabo Corporation operated in secrecy and acted erratically; even so, they left no evidence that could incriminate them for their misdeeds. 0

A few mutated embryos could not definitively prove anything nor could they condemn the Kabo Corporation—an entity known worldwide—for any wrongdoing. 0

The hospital was devoid of patients, merely an empty shell, yet secretly engaged in what they called a grand operation—biochemical weapons and the breeding of alien creature embryos. 0

Gui Ye once mentioned that during the day, the place was bustling with people, likely to create a façade to deceive onlookers. 0

The two of them, famished, hurried along, eagerly anticipating a hearty meal and a good night's sleep. However, when they pushed open the warehouse door, all they saw was the ground soaked in blood, and Gui Ye and the others were nowhere to be found inside. 0

Xiao Qiang stared at the fresh blood on the ground and crouched down for a closer look... 0

Wu Yi, quick to act, reached out to touch the bloodstains on the ground... 0

"Hey, stop." 0

Wu Yi withdrew his hand, puzzled as he looked at Xiao Qiang. "What’s going on?" 0

"There's something off; the blood might be contaminated with a virus," Xiao Qiang replied, scanning the surroundings. "Take a whiff here and see if you can determine when Gui Ye and the others left." 0

Wu Yi flared his nostrils and sniffed for a moment. The air was filled with various strange odors, none of which belonged to humans. After a while, he glanced at Xiao Qiang, who had moved to check a corner, and said in astonishment, "There’s no trace of Gui Ye's scent. However, something terrible must have happened here last night." Beyond that, he couldn't detect anything else. 0

Acid Rain—Living Dead—Gui Ye—warehouse! Xiao Qiang speculated silently, his brow furrowed and expression serious. Suddenly looking up at Wu Yi, he said, "We need to head to the Gathering Place of Ghosts." 0

Though it was bright outside, everything appeared shrouded in gray. The Gathering Place of Ghosts lay within Peach Tree Grove—quiet and desolate. The wind rustled through the bare branches as if ghosts were weeping; this scene sent chills down their spines. 0

Xiao Qiang and Wu Yi hurried along and soon spotted Peach Tree Grove from afar, where an isolated dilapidated house stood. For reasons unknown, Xiao Qiang felt an intense sense of foreboding. 0

Daytime belonged to the children of light; nighttime was ruled by the children of darkness. Even in broad daylight, he could feel this eerie atmosphere weighing heavily on him like a massive stone pressing down, making it hard for him to breathe. 0

He disliked this empty feeling, even if it meant having a final showdown with Gui Ye. A bloody fight would be better than being trapped in a lifeless house. 0

"They're in trouble." Xiao Qiang suddenly blurted out as he just entered the house, then turned around and dashed towards the graves of Dick Qiang and Martin. 0

Wu Yi looked at Xiao Qiang in confusion; his expression indicated that something serious had happened. He didn't dare to ask more and could only silently follow behind him. 0

The two fresh graves had been disturbed. They were empty, devoid of bodies. Next to the graves, the soil was stained red with blood. The surrounding area clearly showed signs of a struggle, with bits of torn clothing hanging from the branches of a peach tree. 0

Suddenly, Wu Yi's eyes widened as he stared at a spot and said to Xiao Qiang, "Look over there." 0

Xiao Qiang followed Wu Yi's gaze and saw a bloody severed arm discarded beneath a peach tree. The fingers of the severed arm were grayish-white, lacking any blood, which was genuinely unsettling. He used some grass to wipe away the blood on the severed arm; the grass showed no traces of blood, indicating that it had already congealed. Upon closer inspection of the severed end, the cut was rough, clearly resembling something that had been bitten off or torn apart. 0

"What do you think?" Xiao Qiang posed this thought-provoking question to Wu Yi while scanning their surroundings. "We need to find a way to fill our stomachs and get some good rest; there's bound to be a show for us tonight." 0

"Those bite marks indicate it was bitten off by teeth." 0

"Right, and it looks like many teeth did the biting." Xiao Qiang said as he glanced toward the direction they came from, where the dilapidated house stood. His expression darkened slightly as he added, "Let's head back inside." 0
