"Why choose me?" This question had always lingered in Xiao Qiang's mind. In this city, with so many people around, why had they singled out him, a stranger from another world?
In the human realm, the term "stranger" acted like a shield, making many instinctively wary. Communication and interaction became difficult, and excessive enthusiasm could lead to suspicion, escalating the situation further. It was just like what had happened half an hour ago; when they had entered the bar, an invisible barrier had quietly risen among the patrons, making it clear that no one would cross it to offer help when needed.
Ding Bosheng chuckled innocently, his large ears and thick lips resembling a giant bell. It looked somewhat comical, but Xiao Qiang did not laugh; he was focused on waiting for a response. After a moment of hesitation, Ding Bosheng grinned and said, "I admire heroes..."
Xiao Qiang felt speechless and thought to himself: What kind of reasoning is that?
"I've always wanted to be a hero, but I turned into a coward during that incident." A look of guilt appeared in Ding Bosheng's eyes as they gradually dimmed.
"What’s our next destination?" Xiao Qiang changed the subject, brushing his face lightly as he glanced at Chixia and Redemption of the Fallen.

"Eagle City? What's special about it?"

"Sounds complicated." Xiao Qiang gazed at their ride—a dilapidated mini truck. How nice it would be if he were in the future world; the Terminator Motorcycle was one of his favorite rides.
"People there all have their own agendas... There are con artists, prostitutes, and even Fallen One spies. Of course, vampires don’t dare to show themselves freely; in short, you can find all kinds of people."
Xiao Qiang silently noted Ding Bosheng's words and looked at the sky. "The virus you mentioned earlier—does it relate to the Fallen One we’re looking for?"
"I think I've already answered that question," Ding Bosheng replied nonchalantly as he pulled out a cigarette, flicked it to light it up, and took a slow drag. Perhaps due to the initial spiciness of the smoke, he habitually spat after each puff. He pinched the cigarette between his fingers, looking quite pleased as he slowly consumed it.

"Where was I?" Ding Bosheng seemed to have drunk too much and had already forgotten what they were discussing just moments ago.
Xiao Qiang crossed his arms and paused slightly before prompting him, "You were talking about retrieving rock materials."
"Yes, the next day, I went to collect the rock dissolution materials with Xin Li." Ding Bosheng gazed into the distance, his emotions once again sinking into the memories of a bygone era...

However, this one was several times larger than an ordinary Ground Turtle and had numerous legs on its abdomen, each tipped with sharp hooks. It looked quite menacing, and when they examined this Ground Turtle, their bodies reacted strongly; it genuinely startled them.
After preliminary identification, they concluded that this Ground Turtle belonged to an inexplicable mutated species. Looking at this massive creature, an ominous feeling began to grow within Ding Bosheng.
He suggested burning the mutated Ground Turtle to ashes.
As soon as Ding Bosheng made his suggestion, he was immediately besieged by all team members. The deputy leader, Li Yishan, even drew a gun to threaten him, warning that if he leaked even a word of this incident, he would face dire consequences.
In the days that followed, Gigi did not recover. The iodine tincture had little effect on its injuries. Ding Bosheng cradled its head and cried like a child for the first time.
After he finished crying, he picked up his assault rifle with the intention of killing Gigi while it was unconscious. However, unexpectedly, Gigi seemed to sense impending danger; it suddenly raised its body, propping itself up on its forearms and turning its head to fix its large, expressive eyes on him intently.
At that moment, Ding Bosheng's heart trembled; he simply couldn't bring himself to act.
Gigi had something writhing in her belly, and this was the very reality that terrified Ding Bosheng. Who knew what the hell that thing was? He picked up Gigi and went to find Xin Li.
The results were truly frightening. The rock body was dissolving, revealing a type of organic virus known as Microorganism. These viruses thrived within the blood-red rock. Any creature attacked by this virus became a carrier; it didn't matter whether they were female or male—once infected, they would reproduce new Alien Creatures.
It was horrifying. Ding Bosheng felt a chill run through him. In his arms, Gigi moaned weakly. He felt utterly powerless as he trudged heavily out of the team’s barracks.
Gigi's belly was nurturing a new alien species, and who knew what it would look like? It might burst forth as a bloodthirsty monster.
Ding Bosheng raised his gun once more, aiming at Gigi.
In the end, he couldn't pull the trigger but insisted on reporting the matter.
As a result, Ding Bosheng became a thorn in the eyes of everyone in the team. They guarded against his entry into the barracks, hiding satellite phones from him to prevent any contact.
He grew increasingly agitated, like a lion trapped in a cage, fearing the nightmare that loomed yet feeling helpless to stop or prevent it. The team members seemed possessed, filled with anticipation and excitement about these Mutants; they believed this was their best chance for fame and fortune.
