The Guerrilla Military, under the guidance of Lord Min Dagang and Xiao Qiang, marched towards Mountain Village in a grand procession.
Xiao Qiang keenly observed that the people seemed less fearful than he had expected regarding the terrifying descriptions of vampires they had shared.
Everything appeared to be under their control. As they approached, he noticed they were equipped with various heavy weapons of different sizes, as well as some advanced armaments.
Running alongside the armored vehicles was the Mechanized Infantry, armed with flamethrowers. They approached the train with a sense of urgency, systematically spraying flames to disinfect it.
"Do you think they know about the vampires?" the lord whispered to Min Dagang. It was peculiar that Xiao Qiang had been called to another vehicle, separating him from the others.
Not only did the lord find it strange, but Xiao Qiang also sensed something was off. He was summoned into another vehicle and found himself seated in the middle, flanked by a tall and imposing mechanized soldier.
The Mechanized Infantry were specially trained soldiers belonging to a multifunctional unit skilled in ambush tactics, reconnaissance, and assault operations.
Historically, the Mechanized Infantry was established during the Second World War by a certain nation. Over time and through various conflicts, this unit evolved into an indispensable elite force within different military branches.
During his training, Xiao Qiang had limited exposure to various types of troops but developed a strong interest in the Mechanized Infantry. He envisioned them as divers and likened enemy deployment systems to sturdy water barriers. The tanks of the mechanized infantry were like those tasked with breaching these barriers, while explosives placed on one side of the dam represented their defensive measures. A small amount of explosives could create enough pressure to collapse the dam without needing an overwhelming quantity of explosives to destroy every square meter.
For just a few vampires, such a formidable force as the Mechanized Infantry was dispatched. This seemed excessive to Xiao Qiang; however, seeing them reminded him of a dream he once had.
In that dream, Lin Yu spoke about something like Mechanical Tentacles, which were entirely different from the Mechanized Infantry.
Mechanical Tentacles referred to a massive mechanical weapon system that required human warriors to achieve a state of unity with them. Only by synchronizing their minds could they accurately control multiple tentacles; their arms would become Mechanical Tentacles, merging their brains with the machinery to truly become masters of these devices.
Trapped in the middle, Xiao Qiang felt he needed permission even to shift in his seat. The two soldiers beside him maintained a stern demeanor and ignored him completely. Damn it! he muttered under his breath, what is this? Limiting my freedom? He also felt an unsettling sense of being monitored and restrained.
From a distance, Mountain Village appeared quiet. As the troops drew closer, Min Dagang's comrades emerged from hidden spots with a rustling sound.
"Hey, I'm here!" Min Dagang shouted but quickly realized he couldn't get out of the vehicle. The comrades who had rushed out were also ushered into another vehicle and sat down obediently.
The Mechanized Infantry began a sweeping operation, flamethrowers roaring as they unleashed jets of fire, systematically clearing out the villages that had been ravaged by the vampires.
Xiao Qiang noticed that a portion of the soldiers left the village, heading towards Huainan Town in armored vehicles. They must be going to secure the area; the villages that had been cleared by the Mechanized Infantry no longer existed, leaving behind only charred rubble and broken walls.
Watching their precise deployment and meticulous allocation, Xiao Qiang understood why this force had dispatched so many Mechanized Infantry and armored vehicles as if facing a formidable enemy.
They were breaking into smaller units, divided into three teams to execute their assigned tasks. One team went to Huainan Town to secure the area, another to eliminate and bomb any remaining vampires hiding in caves, while the third team stayed at Mountain Village to oversee Xiao Qiang and his group.
"Hey, you can't treat us like this!" Min Dagang protested angrily, unable to sit still.
No one paid him any mind; the soldiers moved like wooden figures. It would be more accurate to compare them to cold-blooded beings, utterly devoid of human emotion.
The bombing commenced, and mountains were overturned by the explosive shockwaves. The blast sent a cloud of dirt flying into the air, which then rained down like a shower of mud.
For safety reasons, the small team clearing Mountain Village withdrew to a distance of five hundred meters from Wolf Howl Gorge.
Xiao Qiang gazed at the smoke-filled peaks, secretly speculating about what fate awaited the noble Vampire Queen in Chixia's mind.
However, unexpected changes often occurred. After the clearing was completed, a commanding officer stepped forward with an Indictment for Xiao Qiang to sign.
Indictment? Xiao Qiang, now deprived of his freedom, couldn't understand how he had been accused. Moreover, he was summoned to a Temporary Military Tribunal. The charges against him were for violently killing innocent people, brought forth by a representative of the Guerrilla Military.
What a disaster! As Xiao Qiang looked at the indictment, he suddenly recalled the incident with Gui Ye and Wu Yi when they went to the hospital to check on Bioengineered Humans. This Guerrilla Military unit was precisely stationed at the hospital; they had been searching for Xiao Qiang and Gui Ye among others.
Also implicated were the city lord and Min Dagang; anyone associated with Xiao Qiang would face strict scrutiny and interrogation.
This was all orchestrated by Professor R. He was framing Xiao Qiang out of fear that he might leak secrets about Kabo Group.
Xiao Qiang was troubled, worried that if he used force to escape, it shouldn't be a problem. However, the city lord and Min Dagang were still in their hands. If he ran away, it would inevitably endanger their lives. He thought about how the Guerrilla Military were ruthless hypocrites who wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger and could easily eliminate a few insignificant people in their eyes.
Min Dagang had requested to see the boss but was met with a merciless refusal. He gritted his teeth in frustration, estimating that these seemingly righteous military personnel were more evil than vampires.
They had weapons, and he couldn't help but think wildly in his mind. His desperate hope to see Xiao Qiang remained undiminished.
As night fell, most soldiers were too lazy to act after clearing Huainan Town and the surrounding villages, as well as bombing the mountains. They set up camp near Wolf Howl Gorge to rest.
Xiao Qiang was still under surveillance and was forced to wear handcuffs. The city lord had previously been with Min Dagang but was inexplicably separated now. He was under house arrest in another tent and couldn't leave even for basic human needs without someone following closely behind.
Min Dagang, however, did not have that kind of patience; he wanted to escape.
