The tunnel stretched endlessly, and just beyond it lay another tunnel. Countless manhole covers concealed the presence of unknown evil creatures lurking in the dark. 0

Rising from the ground, M felt a sharp pain from multiple abrasions caused by the recent violent impact. Although the wounds were slowly healing, the stinging sensation was very real. Frowning, he straightened his wrinkled, dust-covered clothes and gazed along the tracks in the direction the train had departed. 0

On that train was a werewolf, and M sensed that this creature would not let him go easily. His gaze fixed on a point at the end of the tracks, which was moving and gradually coming into focus. 0

M had been taken hostage by another man wearing sunglasses, who had come seeking trouble with Xiao Qiang. 0

"Are you... okay?" 0

M's face turned pale with fear as he stammered, "He... he's looking for you..." Before he could finish, the werewolf tightened its grip around his throat, leaving him unable to speak. 0

"Let her go. If you're a man, don't take your anger out on a woman. Besides, she has no ties to me; why create more bloodshed?" 0

The Sunglasses Man removed his glasses and glared at Xiao Qiang with disdain before releasing M. Suddenly, he hunched over, trembling as his skin ruptured. With a howl, his limbs elongated, his mouth elongated into a narrow snout revealing sharp fangs—his movements became indistinguishable from that of a wolf. 0

Transforming from one form to another was painful; otherwise, there wouldn't be such a horrific howl. At first glance, this werewolf seemed similar to the previous one—both were elite among their kind, no longer under the moon's control. They could transform at will, but there was no time to ponder this as the werewolf lunged forward with a howl. 0

Xiao Qiang transformed instantly as well; he roared and howled as his skin split open to reveal massive wings and a face that was far from human. He charged headlong into battle. 0

Due to the darkness of the tunnel and dim lighting, this place saw little traffic aside from trains making brief stops. Thus, no one witnessed the fierce struggle between two beasts. In an instant, these two towering creatures clashed back and forth without a clear victor. 0

In an inconspicuous corner stood a solitary figure, cold and distant. Her icy gaze fixated on one of them as her slender fingers gripped a firearm. The dark muzzle wavered uncertainly—sometimes aiming at one beast and then shifting to the other... Her pale face was as cold as ice, yet her eyes still held a glimmer of concern. 0

At that same moment, entangled with the werewolf, Xiao Qiang suddenly sensed a familiar yet chilling presence. In that brief moment of distraction, he felt a sharp bite from the werewolf on his chest. Stumbling back several steps to regain his composure, he searched again for that familiar aura but found nothing but the cold emptiness surrounding him... 0

Blood trickled from his chest as the werewolf gained the upper hand, its attacks growing fiercer. It seemed intent on wearing down Xiao Qiang's strength and will, rather than seeking his life. 0

Faced with the ferocious werewolf, Xiao Qiang had to cast aside all distractions and focus on combating this towering beast that resembled a giant. 0

The figure that had quietly slipped away did not go far; it approached M, who had been thrown aside by the werewolf. Gently lifting her head, it wiped the blood from the corner of her lips. 0

M slowly opened her eyes to see a face so pale it hardly resembled a human's, yet those eyes and features could not be changed. She moved her lips, taking a long time to utter a single word: "Yu..." A tear rolled down from the corner of her eye as she struggled to rise but found herself too weak. "I'm sorry... he..." 0

Lin Yu raised a finger and shook his head sadly. "It's all over. The Lin Yu you knew is dead; what you see is just a walking corpse." 0

"No... Lin Yu, what happened to you?" M's injuries were severe, and the heavy guilt made her forget about herself. She desperately wanted to express something. 0

Lin Yu's cold gaze held no warmth. "Just take care of yourself!" He said as he helped M up, preparing to escort her out of the tunnel and find a safe place. 0

"I saw Xiao Qiang; he..." 0

"Don't mention him to me." Lin Yu's icy tone felt like his body devoid of warmth, sending a chill down M's spine. "Are you scared? I am already dead." 0

"I..." 0

"Didn't you want to write a horror story? You could write about a friend turning into a vampire." Lin Yu no longer laughed; her tone and expression were so alien that they could only be described with one word: cold. 0

When she had embraced him earlier, he sensed something was off. He never imagined he would witness such scenes outside of legends or movies now unfolding before his eyes. "A vampire?" M gasped in shock. The pain combined with fear made her feel she was close to death's edge. Perhaps Lin Yu sought revenge, intending to take her to a secluded place to drain every drop of blood from her capillaries and leave her corpse for the wild creatures to feast upon. 0

Two fierce beasts, one righteous and one evil, were still locked in combat, while Lin Yu seemed to coldly ignore everything happening before her. The concern that had briefly crossed her face gradually faded away as she gently placed M against a pillar and resolutely tore off a sleeve to bandage M's still-bleeding wound. 0

M reached out with a trembling hand, grasping Lin Yu's cold arm, her pleading gaze fixed on her. "I'm sorry, there's no need to save me," she said, closing her eyes. "Go ahead! I’m not afraid of pain." 0

The cold wind brushed against her forehead, and after a long while, M opened her eyes again to find emptiness before her. Lin Yu was gone, and the distant fighting had ceased. Slowly and painfully, she pushed herself up; there was an exit nearby, and outside were passing pedestrians. Since she wasn’t going to kill herself, she needed to leave quickly. With that thought in mind, M hopped away from her original spot. 0

Xiao Qiang was not dead; he stood there dazed, staring at the werewolf that had been shot dead. The werewolf had taken several bullets, each one fatal. The bullets that had been fired were still hot, heavily laced with silver, deeply embedded in its heart and hindering its regenerative abilities. 0

The shooter had fired from the shadows with deadly accuracy at the werewolf, while Xiao Qiang remained unharmed. By the time he realized what had happened, the shooter had already slipped away without leaving a trace. 0

As for M, it seemed she had encountered a stroke of luck; it appeared someone had saved her. For now, Xiao Qiang could only wait for the next train to arrive. What he needed was time to search for his lost love. 0

The two werewolves who had met their untimely demise lay limp on the tracks. Xiao Qiang believed that within half a day, these two corpses would be crushed into pulp by the passing train wheels. 0

Finally, a rumbling train approached, disturbing the momentary peace at the tunnel entrance. Xiao Qiang stared blankly in the direction of the train as it drew near; just as it came close, he suddenly moved aside and vanished in an instant. 0

Just seconds after he left, Lin Yu emerged from behind the pillar. Instinctively, she removed the chain from around her neck and tossed it onto the tracks before quickly turning and leaving. 0
