Damn it! The sprawling Underground Castle had already become a domain for werewolves—perhaps even worse than above ground. As Li Hang descended into the Underground Castle, countless low-level werewolves leaped from various passages.
That towering Giant Werewolf, while Li Hang struggled against swarms of low-level ones, smashed open the cover leading to the underground passage. He dispatched nearby low-level werewolves but had no confidence in facing off against a Giant Werewolf that was twice his size.
After several rounds, the weakened Li Hang gradually found himself at a disadvantage. Ultimately, he was bitten on the neck by the Giant Werewolf. With a whoosh and a light sound of air being sliced, a plume of blue smoke appeared. The werewolf trembled violently as a bloody hole opened in the back of its head, collapsing lifelessly to the ground and instantly reverting to human form.
From below, he saw a pair of slender legs—no, two pairs of slender legs. Li Hang propped himself against the wall and slowly struggled to stand upright, finally seeing the owner of those legs.
In a disheveled state, he forced a smile and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Lin Yu cautiously surveyed their surroundings. "Well, Cold Star and I snuck out."
"Han Shaoyu doesn't know you're here?" Li Hang exclaimed in surprise.
Lin Yu picked up a whip knife from the ground and glanced at the blood trickling from Li Hang's neck. "Are you okay?"
Li Hang instinctively touched his neck and opened his fingers. "I'm fine; it'll be alright soon." He then turned to the somewhat timid Cold Star and said, "Cold Star, don't be afraid..."
In between their brief exchanges, more werewolves appeared in the corridor. Lin Yu grabbed Cold Star and handed her over to Li Hang. "You take her to a safe place."
The safe place was a stone house that had once been used for confining errant clan members. Li Hang escorted Cold Star inside before turning back to assist Lin Yu.
Lin Yu had come prepared; with Cold Star's help, she had managed to bring along many advanced grenades that had been successfully manufactured by humans for Han Shaoyu.
The grenade could be set to explode after a certain amount of time or detonated immediately. Its design was compact and exquisite, making it easy and safe to carry. To use it, one simply needed to press the red button, and the explosion setting would be activated successfully.
It could also serve as a concealed weapon. Lin Yu launched a grenade like a dart into the abdomen of an approaching intermediate werewolf. Being an intermediate werewolf, it dismissed the small object that seemed to spin and pierce its belly.

Li Hang appeared on the other side of the werewolf, noticing the standoff between Lin Yu and the creature. He swung his whip knife with swift motions... but then pulled back, slicing through the throat of the werewolf behind him, instantly killing it.
The intermediate werewolf facing Lin Yu was full of confidence as it prepared to capture her, who had nowhere to retreat and was cornered at the end of the alley. Suddenly, it felt something was wrong in its stomach—a burning sensation... Startled, it looked down and realized it had been tricked; that spinning object lodged in its abdomen was a super grenade. The self-healing ability sealed the wound, but the grenade would inevitably explode inside.
The werewolf looked at its palm where the pull ring lay... In despair, it screamed as its muscles and bones began to contort. One moment it transformed into its werewolf form; the next moment it reverted back to human shape. As its body swelled up, there was a muffled bang—the explosion from the grenade turned this shapeshifting werewolf into a spray of blood.
