It was Li Hang, but his injuries were severe, leaving him in a semi-conscious state. The cause of his condition was a gruesome blood hole on the left side of his neck, from which blood flowed steadily. Lin Yu took a closer look and exclaimed in shock, "The wound isn't healing?"
Xiao Qiang was startled but couldn't stop the car. He noticed in the rearview mirror that as they lifted Li Hang into the vehicle, countless shadowy figures resembling small mountains rushed out from the side entrance of the building.
It wasn't hard to imagine that as they leaped forward, the distinctive ferocity of the werewolves became apparent. Time was of the essence; with Li Hang's critical condition, there was no time to waste, and they had to accelerate.
The pursuing werewolves leaped and bounded effortlessly over the moving vehicles, causing those out late at night seeking thrills to scream in terror.
The werewolves targeted Xiao Qiang and his companions, ignoring the screams as their terrifying forms became clearer. The boy was with Li Hang while Xiao Qiang was in the driver's seat with Lin Yu.
If only Wu Yi would appear, at least they could hold them off for a while. However, distant help wouldn't save them from immediate danger; they had to focus on the threats right in front of them. Three werewolves pounced and landed firmly on top of their car.
A fierce battle was inevitable. The boy curled up in fear, covering his head, unable to bear witnessing the impending bloodshed.
Lin Yu's firearm was no toy; with a 99% accuracy rate, he shot dead one werewolf that had clung to the car door. Xiao Qiang faced trouble; he still had to drive while dealing with another werewolf attacking from the side.
This old wreck of a car should have been sent to an antique shop. As Xiao Qiang swerved erratically while driving, he managed to throw a punch into the werewolf's gaping mouth, stabilizing the steering wheel with his other hand… The shocking scene stunned Lin Yu, who had just thought about helping.
He actually took advantage of the moment to rip the werewolf's head apart, blood splattering all over Xiao Qiang's face and body. He shoved the lifeless werewolf off the car without slowing down.
Li Hang's condition was dire; Xiao Qiang instructed Lin Yu to drive while he checked on him.
"Li Hang, can you hear me?"
Li Hang weakly opened his eyes, forcing a bitter smile before nodding with difficulty.
In the rearview mirror, Lin Yu saw Xiao Qiang cut open his wrist with a dagger, blood flowing out. "Open your mouth," he commanded Li Hang.
Li Hang shook his head.
Xiao Qiang, disregarding everything, pried open his mouth and dripped blood onto his lips. The blood had a sweet taste, tempting Li Hang to open his mouth wide and swallow it greedily.
A surge of latent power surged through Li Hang's capillaries, and Xiao Qiang could see his wounds slowly healing. The boy who had been holding his head in fear now lifted it and stared intently at him.
Xiao Qiang gazed at the child, his memories jumbled and causing him a headache. He couldn't remember who the child was, but the look in his eyes felt familiar.
"You don't recognize him," Lin Yu glanced at the rearview mirror. "He is the Wolf Leader raised by Han Shaoyu."
At Lin Yu's words, Xiao Qiang suddenly drew his dagger, glaring menacingly at the child.
"What do you want to do?" Lin Yu exclaimed in surprise.
"The child is innocent; the guilty ones are the malicious people with ulterior motives," Xiao Qiang thought to kill the child before he became the Wolf Leader. Just then, the car roof shook violently, and a massive, snarling werewolf head burst in from Lin Yu's side.
Startled, Lin Yu lost grip of the wheel, causing the car to veer toward the guardrail. With a loud crash, the car hit the guardrail, its front crumpling and stalling.
Xiao Qiang retracted his hand holding the dagger and hurried to protect Lin Yu. In just a few moments, the werewolf attacking them was dispatched brutally, but sharp barking echoed from behind the car.
They both turned almost simultaneously to witness a horrifying scene: a Giant Werewolf had taken advantage of Xiao Qiang's distraction to invade the trunk.
The werewolf's gaping maw was mere inches away from biting down on the child's head. The child screamed, revealing a face that resembled neither human nor wolf.
The child's scream stunned the werewolf that was about to bite him. It seemed as if it had received some strange signal, as it hesitantly began to retreat slowly.
Xiao Qiang felt a mix of confusion and awe as he sensed the child's extraordinary nature. Indeed, he was powerful enough to instill fear even in werewolves...
"Who does he look like?" Lin Yu glanced at Xiao Qiang before turning his attention back to the child.
To be honest, Xiao Qiang had never really looked closely at the child before. Now, as he focused on him, he couldn't help but be astonished, thinking to himself, "How is it that he resembles me so much?"
The child hugged his head tightly, trembling all over. Yet, those eyes—filled with a strange and terrifying aura—never left Xiao Qiang.
"I dreamed of you," the child said timidly, his gaze drifting over the back railing as he quivered and whispered.
"You dreamed of me?" Xiao Qiang helped Lin Yu out of the transformed cockpit and noticed that Li Hang's condition had improved. He had managed to turn over and was now staring intently at Xiao Qiang and Lin Yu.
"Are you okay?" Xiao Qiang encouraged Li Hang with a nod before looking back at the child. "Continue what you were saying. What dream did you have? Tell me."
Lin Yu, tending to Li Hang, asked worriedly, "Will Wu Yi come to rescue us?"
"He will," Xiao Qiang replied, still waiting for the child to share his dream.
"I dreamed of you and her. The three of us were together; it was a beautiful dream. I miss it so much..."
Hearing this, Lin Yu suddenly recalled what that human had said in the building. She slowly turned to face the child. "What is your name?"
"Xiao Yu."
Xiao Yu! Xiao Qiang was taken aback. With a mix of laughter and tears, he pulled the child into an embrace. "Do you know who I am? Do you know who she is?"
"Is Xiao Yu their child?" Li Hang touched his already healed neck and recounted the encounter with the werewolf during their escape from the building.
Over there, Lin Yu was crying uncontrollably, holding the child and showering it with kisses.
Xiao Qiang saw that Wu Yi had arrived with their original team. Their next destination was Han Shaoyu's lair. They needed to nip his ambition to dominate the Earth in the bud.
However, when Xiao Qiang and the others reached Han Shaoyu's ancient castle, the old fellow had already hidden away, hibernating somewhere unknown. Professor R, seeing that the situation was dire, had no choice but to explain all the meticulously planned events.
The boy in Han Shaoyu's lair was a clone of Xiao Yu, used by Professor R as a substitute. He had secretly handed over the real Xiao Yu to a certain CEO who once worked with him and shared his ambitions, tasking them with developing a Rare Serum that could suppress silver and alter genes.
A crisp gunshot rang out, and an evil heart ceased to beat. His body disintegrated under the corrosion of Silver Nitrate. Wen Kai realized his mistakes could be rectified; he led Xiao Qiang and others to eliminate the remaining members of the Vampire Family in the Ant Nest.
Among them, Cold Star and Na Clone Body Xiao Yu were missing. All members of the Vampire Family were wiped out by human military forces, and a final fire burned down the Ant Nest. The raging flames lasted for half a month, casting a red glow across half the sky.
The antidote made from Xiao Qiang's serum flowed continuously into society. Li Hang and Wen Kai regained their human forms; however, regrettably, they lost their abilities in the process.
As for Lin Yu... she still needed to work with Xiao Qiang to create a Superhuman Species with pure bloodlines. So they were both very busy, struggling in a state that felt impossible to escape.
Before they could finish their personal matters, a mission from higher-ups had already been issued. However, this mission would have to wait until they both awoke from their slumber. During their sleep, they would conceive Cenozoic Superhuman Species—the only race capable of saving the Earth.
