The man was dressed in rags, with unkempt hair and a scruffy beard, looking every bit like a drifter who had wandered here from Earth. However, when he walked in front of Xiao Qiang, a fleeting glance revealed a coldness in his brow that left him momentarily stunned. It was a strange feeling, familiar yet indescribable.
Following Xiao Qiang's gaze, he watched as the man swayed unsteadily, gradually putting distance between them. Kyle introduced him, saying, "He is a solitary star lost in the cosmic whirlpool. When we rescued him, he looked just like this—mad and muttering incomprehensible words."
"He was found in the cosmic whirlpool too?" Xiao Qiang exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes." Kyle's face was far from pleasant; he looked as if he could use a bag taped to his belly to complete the image of Mr. Kangaroo. While Kyle replied, Xiao Qiang had already dashed over, leaving footprints in the soft sand beneath his feet.
"Hey, wait!" Xiao Qiang shouted.
The already departing Earthling slowly turned his head to look at Xiao Qiang. His dirty face was obscured by grime and sweat, leaving only a pair of eyes that still sparkled with some life.
As he approached the Earthling, who resembled a wooden puppet, Xiao Qiang felt a surge of emotions and had many questions to ask but didn't know where to start. Finally, he managed to blurt out something trivial: "How long have you been here?"
The man stared blankly at Xiao Qiang for a few seconds before suddenly turning away without a word.
"Hey, I'm talking to you!" Xiao Qiang stepped forward and grabbed the man's filthy, slippery arm. To his surprise, the man blocked him with a swift motion; sharp nails grazed against him with a hiss... "Ouch!" he gasped softly, quickly retracting his hand to inspect the pain. There it was—a bright red scratch mark. "Wu Yi? Is that you?" Who else but Wu Yi would have such claws? Did this Earthling possess such talons too?
When he called out Wu Yi's name, the man continued walking, ignoring Xiao Qiang's shout.
It seemed he had suffered some sort of brain injury; otherwise, how could he forget who he was? Xiao Qiang couldn't let this long-lost companion slip away from him. This time, he prepared himself to avoid getting scratched again and sprinted forward to sweep the man's legs...
Thud! Xiao Qiang tackled Wu Yi from behind and knocked him down onto the ground. Ugh! A mouthful of sand made him uncomfortable; especially infuriating was this troublemaker before him.
Kyle saw that Xiao Qiang had succeeded and rushed over with Oke to help restrain the struggling Wu Yi, who possessed immense strength.
How could they wake up the dazed Wu Yi? This was currently Xiao Qiang's biggest headache. With Oke and Kyle's assistance, they managed to get Wu Yi onto a ship equipped with medical facilities.
Kyle informed Xiao Qiang that Aulian resided in the Cypher Star System and that these beings were extremely reluctant to leave their own star system. They resembled great eagles with enormous wings capable of soaring freely through the skies.
Around their star system, there was a defensive weapon known as the Argon Shield. If one accidentally touched it, an explosion would occur, releasing a foul stench that could suffocate anyone nearby.
Having grown accustomed to this bizarre environment, Xiao Qiang no longer felt the initial surprise and curiosity when encountering other strange beings.
One of these beings had upright ears and bore a resemblance to humans. To Xiao Qiang's astonishment, she wore glasses and was methodically examining Wu Yi.
Oke, having become good friends with Xiao Qiang, introduced the doctor. "This is Ajima, the most renowned doctor on Wandering Colony Star."
"She? Ajima?" Xiao Qiang looked at the female being with two ear rings and nodded in greeting.
"Hi! Earthling, why not come in for a hug?" Ajima winked at Xiao Qiang, her playful demeanor eliciting laughter from Oke and Kyle. "Is he dead? Can I eat him?" Her voice was melodious and soothing.
As soon as Ajima finished speaking, Wu Yi sprang up, protesting loudly, "You can't eat him!"
"You’re awake?" Xiao Qiang felt a twinge of guilt; he had hit Wu Yi too hard earlier. Seeing him awake now made him step closer with excitement. "How are you? Do you recognize me?"
When Wu Yi woke up, he noticed Xiao Qiang immediately. However, it seemed his memory had been wiped clean; he couldn't recall who Xiao Qiang was. Yet, there was something familiar about him.
Kyle seemed to have a crush on Ajima. While Xiao Qiang was talking to Wu Yi, he edged closer to her, speaking softly as if afraid she wouldn't hear him. "You radiate maternal love; it's very attractive. I swear I will win you over."
Ajima shot him an annoyed glance and instinctively moved away to maintain distance from Kyle. "Stop daydreaming; you smell terrible and should really take a shower."
Wu Yi attempted to sit up but felt something was off. Seizing the moment when no one was paying attention, he quickly lifted the blanket to check his body and froze in shock. Completely unclothed, he awkwardly cleared his throat and blushed deeply. "Who saw my clothes?"
Xiao Qiang felt a surge of relief at Wu Yi's perfectly normal question. It seemed that aside from not recognizing him, everything else about Wu Yi was fine.
"Hey, Ajima, is he okay?"
Avoiding Kyle's advances, Ajima walked over and tucked in the corner of Wu Yi's blanket. "There's nothing serious; I just provided him with enough food for two days."
When it came to food, Xiao Qiang couldn't help but feel a gnawing discomfort in his stomach, as if countless worms were writhing inside. He endured this unsettling sensation and, under Ajima's guidance, went to fetch the clothes prepared for Wu Yi.
Oke did not mention the map in Xiao Qiang's palm; he merely hinted at needing their old friend Kyle's help to discuss finding Aulian.
However, as Wu Yi began to wake up, Xiao Qiang was eager to learn about what had happened to him after leaving the Mother Ship. He also wanted to know about Wen Kai and Li Hang; if they were as fortunate as he was in encountering friends from the Alien System, they might be nearby Wandering Colony Star.
Wu Yi had aged, his face lined with wrinkles, stubble on his chin, and he moved with less agility than before. Kyle mentioned that he was here specifically to cut away damaged parts of the spaceship, and life here had not been easy.
Many Extraterrestrial Beings harbored hostility and disdain towards Earthlings. Wu Yi's brain injury was related to an incident that had occurred earlier. Xiao Qiang was astonished; he had previously believed that Wu Yi's brain injury resulted from the Mother Ship being torn away and drifting through a cosmic vortex, affected by magnetic disturbances. It seemed that was not the case.
Kyle explained, "That day when Wu Yi was cutting the ship, another being called Wuyougui deliberately collided with his head while operating a forklift spaceship."
"Take me to see what this Wuyougui is," Xiao Qiang said angrily, clenching his fists.
"Don't forget your mission," Oke reminded Xiao Qiang. He needed to return to the space containment station as soon as possible. Before leaving, he entrusted both himself and Wu Yi to Ajima.
Ajima's captain was also an Earthling.
