When the sins of the Horde of Ghosts were burned to ashes, the impact of countless vengeful energies pierced through its consciousness.
Watching helplessly as the Heartless Demon went from a capable ally to a fool, the fiery figure's face turned pale. How was she supposed to explain this to the Black Queen? She had thought there would be no complications, but unexpectedly, it had all failed.
"Now that your target is gone, are you not planning to report back?" Shasha observed her with a hint of amusement.
If her guess was correct, this person was Flame Star from the Black Queen's faction, initially an undeniable villain who later joined Captain America's side and was thus redeemed.
She was now an assassin for the Black Queen, specializing in eliminating enemies, with the ability to manipulate thermal energy.
Angelica Jones—that was her name.
At this moment, Angelica felt she had no choice but to leave; staying here served no purpose, especially since she couldn't defeat Shasha.
With a cold snort, she transformed into a blazing torch and shot upwards.
After Angelica departed, Shasha's gaze shifted to Johnny Blaze and Roshan, who were supporting each other, then moved to the Heartless Demon, who appeared dazed and seemed nothing more than an empty shell.
At that moment, a low chuckle echoed as Mephisto materialized, leaning on his staff.
"You have finally completed your mission; now it is time for us to fulfill our contractual obligations."
This moment, which should have been filled with anticipation, brought no joy to Johnny Blaze. He coldly regarded Mephisto. "I refuse to fulfill the agreement. I will keep this power; if you dare step into the human realm, I will use this power to drive you back!"
Mephisto's smile froze, his face darkening ominously. "I will make you regret living in this world!"
With a sudden thud of his staff, he dissolved into dust and scattered with the wind.
Witnessing all this, Shasha couldn't help but feel sympathy for the old demon; nearly every Evil Spirit Knight ended up betraying him.
But that was not his concern. The Reputation he desired was already in hand; helping the Evil Spirit Knight eliminate the Heartless Demon earned him 500 points of Reputation. His objective was achieved—indirectly killing one of the Black Queen's key subordinates.
Thus, without any hesitation, he turned and left, leaving Johnny Blaze scratching his head in confusion at his abrupt departure.
Meanwhile, Angelica returned to report to the Black Queen. Upon hearing that the Heartless Demon was dead, the enchanting face of the Black Queen showed no emotion. "Is it Yama? Is this bastard retaliating for my assassination attempt?"
After a moment, she wearily waved her hand. "Alright, you can go now."
Angelica nodded and stepped back, the suffocating feeling from earlier making her heart tremble with fear. Being around such a capricious person, she feared her own future wouldn’t be bright.
Unaware of her subordinate's inner thoughts, the Black Queen's murderous intent towards Shasha had reached a certain level.
This guy had thwarted her plans multiple times, and now he had caused the death of her black vehicle. She wondered where she could find someone to replace the Heartless Demon at such short notice.
After much contemplation, the Black Queen decided not to take action against Shasha just yet; after all, if she made a move, the White Queen would undoubtedly retaliate.
"Then, I need to finalize the candidate for the black vehicle as soon as possible."
With that thought in mind, a figure suddenly popped into her head—the Liquid Snake who had defeated Magneto.
"Asazuo, I have something to assign to you."
Meanwhile, Shasha, who was seen by the Black Queen as both a target for recruitment and elimination, was currently facing some trouble. The 17-year-old girl with green short hair and striking features, though heavily made up, looked displeased as she glared at him.
"I—this sister of yours—"
Shasha tried to soften her tone but was ruthlessly interrupted. "Don't call me sister; we're not close. Also, you damaged my bike, so you have to pay for it!"
Shasha laughed in exasperation. "You clearly ran the traffic light and caused me to hit you. Even if we called the police, it wouldn't be my responsibility. Offering to help fix your bike is already generous enough; don’t push your luck!"
"Push my luck? Do you have any idea how much I spent on this bike?" The girl angrily poked Shasha in the chest. "You clearly saw we were about to collide; why didn’t you hit the brakes?"
Shasha was momentarily speechless; he indeed had enough time to brake but chose not to. He wanted to teach someone like her a lesson since he had seen too much of this behavior in his past life.
"Cat got your tongue? You weren't doing it on purpose?" The girl scoffed and extended her right hand. "Hand over the money!"
Sighing, Shasha took out his phone and called Wanda Maximoff, informing her of his location.
After hanging up, he said calmly, "Just wait a moment; my assistant is on their way."
The girl crossed her arms and turned her head to the side, clearly uninterested in him.
After waiting for a while, Shasha glanced at her watch. It was already five in the afternoon. She made another call, but Wanda Maximoff would take over two hours; New York was experiencing a massive traffic jam.
With no choice, she hung up again. Just as she was about to do something, Shasha heard a strange sound.
The girl's face flushed slightly as she noticed Shasha's gaze. She glared and said, "What are you looking at? Can't someone be hungry?"
Shasha rolled her eyes. "I was going to ask if you wanted something to eat."
"What for? Are you treating me? Trying to ask me out? Let me tell you, even if that's the case, don't think I won't make you pay!"
Ignoring the stubborn girl, Shasha pursed her lips and chose not to respond.
