Due to Rosa and Reina being summoned to Giant Gorge, Glen and the others did not engage in training.
Although there was no formal training, they often engaged in mock battles, which appeared to be sparring but were actually bets on who would win or lose.
Glen, wielding a sword, faced Liu Chuang, who held an axe. The two exchanged blows; although Glen was on the defensive, he gradually developed a defensive counterattack strategy, as his ability was to endure hits.
Liu Chuang, on the other hand, known as the Nox Star Warlord, possessed immense strength and explosive power. He could suppress his enemies in a short time thanks to his overwhelming force.
The longer the battle lasted, the more advantageous it became for Glen, as he had the upper hand in endurance.
Thus, allowing Liu Chuang to attack freely, Glen defended passively. As time passed the halfway mark, he suddenly launched a counterattack, sweeping Liu Chuang aside with a sword strike and closing in to disarm him of his battle axe. The blade was now poised at Liu Chuang's neck.
“Damn it, when did you become so cunning?” Liu Chuang exclaimed.
Glen replied smugly, “What do you know? This is called strategy. Do you understand tactics?”
“Stop with the nonsense and let’s go again!” Liu Chuang said as he pushed aside the sword blade and resumed their battle.
From a distance atop a building, Shasha and Reina quietly observed everything happening in the training area.
“While this behavior isn’t exactly commendable, it does have its merits. I originally thought Glen was quite foolish; I didn’t expect him to show some cleverness,” Reina remarked with a hint of surprise and admiration.
Shasha nodded noncommittally without offering any opinion.
Seeing this, Reina frowned. “What’s wrong? Why do you look so dissatisfied?”
“I don’t think I have much of an expression,” Shasha replied with a wry smile.
“No expression means you’re dissatisfied. Is it my training method that’s the problem?”
Noticing Shasha's inquisitive demeanor as if she wanted to dig deeper into the matter, Shasha rolled her eyes. “Fine, I admit I’m not satisfied. Your training methods are very formal and normal but not targeted.”
“Hmm? What do you mean by that?” Reina furrowed her brow. Although she had lived for thousands of years, as a queen in Solaris Star, she had been oblivious to outside matters and lacked practical experience; all she knew were methods taught by those Solaris generals.
“I don’t know what you’re concerned about. The few of them could easily engage in paired practice. For example, Liu Chuang and Glen—one has high attack power while the other excels in defense. Or take Qilin’s sniping ability; why not have Qilin try to hit Zhao Xin while he’s moving at high speed? This would not only enhance Qilin’s sniping skills and vision but also improve Zhao Xin’s reaction time and explosive speed.”
As Shasha introduced this almost self-destructive training method, Reina's eyes began to shine brighter. "What a great idea! How come I never thought of this before? Those guys never mentioned it to me at all."
To this, Shasha couldn't be bothered to comment. Firstly, they were from different regions, and secondly, this training method carried certain risks.
With the decision made to change the training approach according to Shasha's suggestion, Reina felt a moment of inspiration. However, Glen and the others couldn't help but shiver, a sense of foreboding creeping into their minds that something bad was about to happen.
The next day, in the tactical training room.
The group gathered early in the morning after breakfast, passing the time with idle chatter until footsteps echoed in the room. They straightened up, curious as to why there were two sets of footsteps approaching.
Just as they were pondering this, Reina entered the classroom, followed closely by a figure both familiar and strange to them.
"What the hell? Is that a hero?" exclaimed Glen.
"Oh my god, it's a big shot!" shouted Liu Chuang.
"Isn't that the one who fought aliens?" asked Zhao Xin.
"It is him," confirmed Qilin.
"I don't think I know him," said Rui Mengmeng.
"That annoying guy!" added Rosa.
Uncertain of what everyone else was thinking, Shasha smiled lightly and waved at them. "Honestly, I didn't expect to see you all here either. But now is not the time for reminiscing; we can catch up later."
With that, Shasha casually found a seat, propped his head back against the desk, and closed his eyes with an air of tranquility.
Having learned his lesson from previous encounters, Liu Chuang was about to remind everyone to pay attention when Reina, seemingly oblivious, began discussing the latest training plan.
"Do you know this guy?" Zhao Xin whispered to Glen beside him.
Glen looked at Shasha with admiration. "He saved me from Liu Chuang. He’s been there for us during several alien fights. Don’t let our captain Reina fool you; I think he’s even stronger."
Zhao Xin's eyes widened in disbelief as he gasped, "No way, really?"
Not far away, Rosa, eavesdropping on their conversation, scoffed. In her view, while Shasha was indeed strong, defeating a cosmic deity would not be an easy feat.
No matter how others lived their lives, it had nothing to do with Shasha at this moment.
It wasn't until Reina finished describing the new training plan that he slowly opened his eyes.
After listening to the plan, everyone exchanged glances, and soon began to speak up in a flurry.
"Is this really going to work? What if someone gets killed?"
"Exactly, it's too dangerous. Forget about fighting aliens; we might end up dying at the hands of our own people."
"I think the original plan was just fine. Isn't everything supposed to be gradual?"
Reina had anticipated their reluctance after being warned by Shasha. She had her own way of addressing their concerns. "Do you want to sweat during training and bleed during battle, or bleed during training and stay alive in battle? The Tao Tie invasion is looming over Earth, and no one will be spared. China needs us to protect it. If you're only satisfied with the current situation, then I will prepare seven coffins for you. Don't ask me why; you know the answer in your hearts!"
