Shasha and Reina were staying at Morgana's place, all because she had said that the North Star was not so easily conquered.
As for the reason? Reina had asked Morgana, and she learned that Tao Tie needed a chaotic Earth, a nation to enslave. As for the leader of this country, Tao Tie believed that keeping them alive was more useful than killing them. The reason was simple: they did not want humanity to unite too much; it was best if they could turn on each other.
So, this war would not end anytime soon.
Whenever Shasha thought about Morgana's words, he couldn't help but smirk. Even the alien invaders understood how to exploit humanity's inherent flaws for a divide-and-conquer style of rule, while humanity remained oblivious. If one were to view the current situation as akin to the Qing Dynasty, then Tao Tie and Morgana were like foreign powers, only the scope of invasion had expanded from China to the entire world.
Shasha's mission was to expel Tao Tie from Earth, but it was clear that he could not accomplish this alone. He needed to leverage any external forces available to him, ideally gaining the support of Solaris Star, Star System, and Morgana.
Although what Shasha was doing now was hard for Yan to accept, he had no choice. To return to his own world or venture into another different world, he had to rely on Morgana's power.
"Are you not afraid that seeking cooperation like this will change that new heir of Nebula's attitude towards you?" Morgana, or rather Liang Bing—calling her Liang Bing would be more appropriate—asked.
“At least until we drive out Tao Tie, the struggle over Nebula is not yet over; I heard this from my Zhi Xin,” Shasha replied calmly. “The return of the male deity Hua Ye might stir up quite a storm.”
“Hua Ye?” Liang Bing pondered, a glimmer of nostalgia flashing in her eyes before a faint smile appeared on her lips. “Are you so confident that this heir can defeat Hua Ye and ascend to the throne?”
Shasha thought for a moment and nodded. “Even without me, she can do it.”
“Alright then, let’s set this matter aside for now,” Liang Bing waved her hand. “Now we need to discuss another issue: the cooperative relationship between Solaris Star and Earth has already broken down. Pan Zhen has decided to hold onto Solaris Star’s territory, making Earth the victim. As for me, I maintain neutrality; however, now that I have established my own power, I have no choice but to side with humanity. But what benefit do I gain from this? I can cultivate power at any time, but my life is something I only have one of.”
“Are you worried about Death God Karl?” Shasha asked in confusion.
"Why not? That kind of ancient monster, over thirty thousand years old, is beyond powerful," Liang Bing nodded, openly admitting the truth.
"Actually, you really don't need to worry. If he wanted to do something, he probably would have done it by now. In his heart, aside from pursuing Ultimate Fear, he would abandon even Tao Tie, his most loyal subordinate, if someone could offer him greater benefits." Shasha had spent some time studying Death God Karl's mindset after Zhi Xin told him about Death God Karl's past.
Liang Bing looked at Shasha in surprise, not expecting her to see through it so clearly. Now it would be difficult for her to refuse.
"Alright, since you've put it that way, I can't really argue against it. What do you plan to do?"
A flicker of struggle crossed Shasha's eyes before she said firmly, "Actually, I fully support Reina's plan, which is to use Sunlight's persistent flare to conduct localized cleansing of the surface."
This time Liang Bing was completely stunned. "Are you crazy? Do you know what will be left of Earth if we do that?"
"At least a large area of land will be destroyed, and some humans will die," Shasha replied with a bitter smile. He was actually the least supportive of such actions; the idea of sacrificing a few for the greater good was still a form of sacrifice in his eyes. But sometimes, one had no choice but to act this way. For example, on Earth now, humanity had chosen to cooperate with alien invaders, putting their nation at risk.
"Aren't you afraid that your former companions will turn against you?" Liang Bing frowned.
Shasha shrugged. "When that time comes, we'll see."
There was actually another way: waiting for Glen to grow strong enough to become the main deity of Earth and use his anti-void abilities to potentially expel Tao Tie, akin to the great prophecy technique mentioned in legends.
However, Zhi Xin also mentioned that it would take several decades for Glen to reach that level. By then, would Earth still exist? That was a question everyone likely had in their hearts.
While Shasha and Liang Bing were discussing these topics, Reina found Rosa and Glen stationed at North Star Road.
They were indeed trapped on the road by the Tao Tie, unable to move, with no way to advance or retreat. The group had no intention of eliminating them; they simply needed to fend off their attacks at the right moments.
It turned out that the three Super Soldiers had no chance of breaking the deadlock before them; this was the result of a carefully orchestrated plan by the Tao Tie.
Reina used her telepathic communication to relay information to Rosa. They were overjoyed at Reina's return, feeling both the excitement of reuniting with an old friend and the hope of potential victory. Reina's arrival was undoubtedly a tremendous boost for them.
Of course, they had expected to encounter Shasha, who had successfully rescued Reina, but in reality, only Reina had come back.
Among those welcoming Reina, Rosa was absent. She had initially refused to participate in the rescue, insisting on heading to North Star. Now, this situation left her feeling quite awkward inside.
