Ziya found it strange that Anqing Mama had Yuan Ye's phone number. She could only keep her curiosity to herself, as it was inappropriate to ask Liu Haoming's father directly. She didn't know much about her parents' affairs, having only returned to their side a few years ago, so it was understandable that she was out of the loop. After carefully checking the number, she pressed the dial button, holding the phone to her ear for a long time before a loud, jarring noise came through. 0

"Ah!" Ziya quickly pulled the phone away from her ear, glancing at the screen which still showed that the call was in progress. But where was that noise coming from? Confused, she handed the phone to Anqing. 0

"What’s wrong? Is it not connecting or is it busy?" 0

"It’s a strange sound; there’s no dial tone and I can’t hear anything indicating it's connected," Ziya replied to Anqing. She had also tried calling Zhou Chen secretly, but the situation was the same. At this moment, she felt an unsettling eeriness as she looked out at the distance shown on the road signs; they were not far from the building. Naturally, anxiety crept in as she wondered how they were doing. 0

At the intersection, Liu Haoming was frustratedly banging on the steering wheel while Chuanzi furrowed his brows tightly, staring ahead. Just past one more intersection was the subway line beside the building; to the right was a major road leading into the city, and straight ahead was an overpass. The building should be located at a triangular area formed by three intersecting roads, in a bustling place with heavy foot and vehicle traffic. How could anything unusual happen here? 0

Ziya sat in the car seat, absentmindedly looking around. She wanted to see a 'person' but didn’t dare to voice it. "What are you daydreaming about? We’ll be there soon," Zi Anqing said with concern upon noticing her daughter's distracted state. 0

Zhang, the Chief Editor hastily threw on his clothes and tossed a pile of money at Nana. "You can stay here if you want; I’ll come pick you up tomorrow when I have time. I have to go now." Nana pouted her brightly painted lips and grabbed a pillow, throwing it hard at his back. 0

"It’s always like this with you; you have so many excuses. How many women do you really have?" 0

"Sweetheart, I can barely handle you alone; how could I possibly take on more women? Just be good..." Zhang said while putting on his pants and adjusting his tie in front of the mirror. 0

"No way! I want to go with you." Nana didn’t trust this man’s words at all; as the saying goes, if you can trust a man's words, then pigs can climb trees. Besides, he was still deceiving his yellow-faced wife while mixing things up with her. With that thought in mind, she quickly got up and decided to leave with Zhang without caring whether he agreed or not. 0

"The timing isn’t right! Little ancestor, look at what time it is! If you go with me, what will others think of you—of me?" Zhang handed his phone to Nana to show her the time while patiently explaining himself. 0

Nana, busy getting dressed, paused for a moment. After thinking it through, she realized that being seen with him by Liu Haoming would not be a joke. Liu Haoming's cold demeanor was intimidating at first glance. Besides, she had once crossed the line with him, which led to his furious reprimand and a demand for Zhang, the Chief Editor, to deduct half a month's bonus from her pay as punishment. 0

"Hmph! If I don't want to go, then I won't," Nana said, sitting on the bed with half her clothes on, watching Zhang, the Chief Editor, tidy up his outfit while maintaining a playful pout in her eyes. 0

"I'm just going to the bathroom; now you're being good!" Zhang, the Chief Editor said with a grin as he adjusted his tie. He looked at Nana approvingly for giving up her intention to follow him and playfully pinched her cheek before heading into the bathroom. 0

A slight vibration caught Nana's attention; she noticed that Zhang, the Chief Editor, had carelessly tossed his phone onto the bed earlier. Seeing a message notification pop up, she glanced at him in the bathroom and quietly picked up the phone to see who was texting him. 0

When Zhang, the Chief Editor, returned from the bathroom, he found Nana already dressed and seemingly waiting for him on the bed. "Why are you up? You should be sleeping; it's not safe to go home now." 0

Nana smiled flirtatiously, rising gracefully and extending her fair arm with a radiant smile. "It's fine; just drop me off at Northwest Interchange, and I'll get off there." Northwest Interchange was not far from the News Agency. He thought for a moment and nodded in agreement to her request. 0

The two hurriedly checked out of their hotel room, which surprised the staff since they usually left the next day. "What’s going on?" The staff member asked cautiously, concerned about customer dissatisfaction or any issues that might cause them to leave prematurely. She maintained a sweet smile as she inquired softly. 0

"Oh, we have an urgent matter to attend to," they replied. 0

"Okay, take care," the staff member said with a professional smile as she saw them out of the hotel. 0

As their car drove away from the hotel towards Northwest Bridge, Nana lit a cigarette and exhaled slowly while watching Zhang, the Chief Editor focus intently on driving. "So where are you really going?" 0

"To the News Agency. Why do you ask?" 0

"You're lying." Nana shot a disdainful glance at the plump Zhang, biting her teeth in frustration as she forcefully extinguished her cigarette butt between her fingers. 0

"I’m lying... Stop it... I’m driving!" Zhang, the Chief Editor had grown accustomed to Nana's domineering nature, but he couldn't help but like her spicy personality. Thoughts of his mother, a nagging woman with a yellowing face, filled him with frustration. 0

"What do you think this is?" Nana demanded, pulling out Zhang's phone. 0

"Okay, I forgot my phone. You're still my precious!" Zhang replied, his eyes glued to the road ahead, not daring to lose focus. There were cameras everywhere, and losing even a single point would hurt; not to mention the annoying traffic lights. 0

Nana was getting angrier by the second, her emotions spiraling out of control as she grabbed Zhang's arm. "You bad guy! You tricked me into playing some adult game, made me give you everything, and now that you have a new love, you’re trying to get rid of me!" 0

With Nana's constant interruptions, Zhang struggled to control the steering wheel. "Hey! Stop it! I’m driving!" Sweat beaded on his chubby face; driving was no joke—why couldn’t Nana understand that? He just wanted to get her to Northwest Bridge quickly and avoid any further arguments. 0

Nana paid no heed to his thoughts, relentlessly tugging at his arm as he drove. Suddenly, a massive truck roared past their car. A cacophony of shouts erupted behind them. Both Zhang and Nana turned to see a car identical to theirs crushed beneath the truck's wheels, smoke billowing from the wreckage... 0
