Chapter Twenty: Thunder Rumbles
While all of Kansas City was reporting on such a battle, Bai Luo's situation was far from optimistic.
He probed left and right, launching several attacks, and came to a series of conclusions: this Green-Skin Reincarnator was incredibly powerful. Its strength, speed, agility, reflexes, and physical resilience were astonishing. Although it lacked any energy-based attack methods, these attributes alone were enough to give Bai Luo a headache.
Moreover, the ground it had corrupted was in a ghastly green state and highly corrosive. If Bai Luo didn't painfully exchange for some relevant counter Talisman, it would be impossible for him to set foot on this land; he could only hover above it.
Fortunately, with Mizumura Memeko, the chief of the Vengeful Spirit girl group and a formidable Loli, ensuring the stability of Bai Luo's floating state at that moment.
In summary, this guy was a perfect specimen at the Hulk level, and Bai Luo had a feeling that its power was still growing.
The only thing puzzling Bai Luo was that this creature never left the ground. No matter what kind of attack it faced, even if it chose to take the hit, it kept its legs firmly planted on the ground.
Additionally, this creature was incredibly arrogant. From the beginning of their fight until now, its mouth hadn't stopped running. Initially expressing disdain for Bai Luo as an unknown soldier, its insults had evolved slightly but remained similar: "You stupid mutant! Are you just tickling me? If you have the guts, come at me with real weapons! Don't worry; I will definitely tear you apart!"
Bai Luo completely ignored its words. He boldly speculated that there had to be a reason for this creature's refusal to leave the ground. Whatever the reason might be, it was the only potential breakthrough point he could find. He decided to approach it from this angle.
Whether successful or not, he would give it a try. If things went awry, he had Sadako and Mizumura Memeko protecting him, along with Wolverine as backup; escaping shouldn't be much of a problem.
Soon enough, Bai Luo confirmed an aggressive and cost-effective Talisman.
Teleportation Thunder Talisman.
One Thousand Points, a power of unparalleled might, is said to summon lightning from the heavens, striking down thrice upon the one targeted by the Talisman.
Three bolts of lightning crashed down. While they might not necessarily kill the Reincarnator with the sickly green skin, at the very least, they could shatter the large patch of corrupted land beneath his feet, effectively breaking his "grounded" state.
In any battle, the last thing an enemy wants to see is a situation that their side desperately needs to avoid.
Since this Reincarnator had some inexplicable reason to keep his feet planted, then it was only fitting to blow apart the ground beneath him. Moreover, this Talisman was worth One Thousand Points, capable not only of demolishing the terrain but also delivering a severe blow to this fellow.
Bai Luo would not hold back; once he made his move, he would exchange nearly all his points in one go.
If you want to clash head-on, then here I come!
With one hand gripping the Talisman, Bai Luo charged toward the nearby Reincarnator.
The Reincarnator narrowed his eyes dangerously. Though his demeanor was painted in Forgiveness Color, it couldn't mask the murderous intent gleaming in his gaze.
He was ready; this time he would definitely capture this flea-like creature and tear him apart on the spot, scattering bloody chunks everywhere.
However, contrary to expectations, Bai Luo had no intention of dodging.
He crashed into the green-skinned Reincarnator like a cannonball, presenting himself as if offering an embrace. Even the Reincarnator was taken aback, but his reflexes were undoubtedly sharp. In an instant, he shot out his hand and lifted Bai Luo as if he were a chicken, while his other hand reached for Bai Luo's leg: "I will tear you to shreds."
Yet, unlike what was anticipated, Bai Luo did not show any signs of horror; instead, he smiled at him.
The Reincarnator paused for a moment, then realized something was amiss. He looked down and saw that somehow, a Yellow Paper Talisman had been affixed to his chest without him noticing.
Bai Luo's words served their purpose perfectly as he smiled slightly, "Which of your eyes saw me as a mutant, Reincarnator?"
At that moment, the Forgiving Color Reincarnator's expression changed drastically. For individuals like Reincarnators and travelers, nothing is more shocking than hearing someone reveal their identity in a world they believed was solely theirs.
The shock was akin to Batman hearing Superman utter the name "Martha."
But this was exactly the opportunity Bai Luo had been waiting for. The instant he spoke, Mizumura Memeko, who had been waiting for this moment, sprang into action.
She unleashed a mental storm that invaded the Reincarnator's mind in an instant.
Sadako had decided to temporarily follow Bai Luo, but her attitude remained resolute—she only wanted to smash.
The Forgiving Color Reincarnator let out a horrific scream, his grip on Bai Luo's strong arm loosening. This was the moment Bai Luo had anticipated; he used the momentum from stepping on the opponent's body to propel himself backward. At the same time, he heard Mizumura Memeko's voice in his mind: "His mental strength is so high; I can't influence him for long."
Almost as soon as she finished speaking, the Forgiving Color Reincarnator began to recover from the mental shock and roared, "Who are you?!"
Bai Luo landed steadily, but as soon as his feet touched the sickly green ground, his expression shifted slightly. He felt a burning sensation rising from beneath his feet.
The ground was corroding his shoes.
However, Bai Luo quickly regained his composure and retreated sharply, shouting from a distance, "Brother, you've entered the wrong territory; this is my domain!"
The Forgiving Color Reincarnator was furious, but just as he took a step forward, Stormy Change occurred.
That was the true Stormy Change.
At that moment, the Yellow Paper Talisman on his chest lit up.
Immediately after, a bolt of lightning, almost unbelievable in its speed, crashed down from the sky.
It was a "thunder."
This thunder struck with the speed of light, hitting the Forgiving Color Reincarnator—no matter how fast he was, unless he possessed the speed of Quicksilver or Flash, there was no way to evade this thunder.
Moreover, the power of this thunder was greater than Bai Luo had imagined. He had retreated nearly ten meters, yet still found himself thrown far away by the shockwave, crashing to the ground. The corrosive surface burned him, causing him to leap up like a fish out of water.
Just then, a roar echoed through the air as a second bolt of lightning descended like a dragon or snake from above.
