Chapter Fifty-Nine: The Father-in-Law Comes Knocking! 0

Bai Luo had lingered at Tony's place for two days, even taking a look at the Iron Man Suit that Tony had developed. To be honest, he wanted one too, but it just didn’t suit him—he was someone who drew talismans; wearing such a suit would mean he’d have to take off the armor before throwing a Talisman, right? 0

Recently, Bai Luo hadn’t had any new missions, nor had he earned any points. After that sudden dance with Sadako one night, she returned to her usual self. However, Bai Luo could tell that in those twenty years of memories, he had played a part; Sadako's resentment had been successfully controlled. 0

Bai Luo couldn’t change Sadako’s established memories because memories were things that had already happened, but he could influence a person's thoughts. 0

The same memory could create two entirely different people. 0

Although Sadako remained as silent and cold as ever, he could see that she had indeed changed after this incident. 0

As for Mizumura Memeko's constant remarks about “Sadako has already been conquered by you,” Bai Luo didn’t see it that way. Unless something happened, whenever he tried to chat with Sister Sadako, she never responded. 0

After spending a few days with Tony and getting familiar with Pepper and the others, Bai Luo received a call from Fury summoning him back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Trident Headquarters in Washington. 0

Nick Fury was waiting for him in his office. 0

The moment Bai Luo walked in, he spotted the dark-skinned bald head. 0

Nick Fury appeared calm and collected. He glanced at Bai Luo and asked, “Have you seen Tony Stark’s new gear?” 0

Bai Luo nodded and replied, “It’s quite impressive.” 0

Fury smiled and said, “I want to recruit him.” 0

Bai Luo knowingly asked, “You want Tony to join S.H.I.E.L.D.?” 0

"Not S.H.I.E.L.D.," Nick Fury shook his head, "but rather another organization I'm planning to establish." 0

He slowly rose from his high-end office chair, his shiny black bald head gleaming in the sunlight streaming through the rooftop windows. "You should understand that there are many people in this world like you, Steve, and Tony. And I... I have an idea to gather a group of people like you together and see what we can accomplish. When people are in need, you will stand up, just like in Kansas City—not to save the world, but to help people fight battles they cannot win themselves. 0

"And if we are defeated and countless lives are lost, we will continue to fight for revenge. 0

"What do you think of such an organization? 0

"I want to call it the Avengers." 0

Bai Luo saw a burning light in Nick Fury's eyes. 0

He had never imagined hearing such words directly from Nick Fury in a real-life scenario. Even as a traveler, Bai Luo felt a stir of excitement. 0

Nick Fury smiled. "I am here to invite you—invite you to become a member of the Avengers. Will you accept?" 0

Bai Luo thought for a moment and asked, "Will I get reimbursed for my expenses?" 0

"I'm planning to bring Tony Stark into the fold," Nick Fury replied, indirectly addressing Bai Luo's question. The implication was clear: once Tony joined, all expenses would be covered by him. 0

Bai Luo chuckled. "Then I'll think about it—this could be a life-changing decision." 0

Fury didn’t press Bai Luo for an immediate answer. "I’ll wait for your response... If this decision truly can change your life, I believe it will bring you good things." 0

"Sounds good. By the way, I’d like to request a change of hotel," Bai Luo said. 0

Fury frowned slightly. "What’s wrong?" 0

"Bai Luo said, 'A familiar reporter has been wanting to interview me for a while.' 0

'Oh, really? That's great news,' Fury replied. 0

Bai Luo was certain that this guy definitely knew about Elena's constant pursuit of him. 0

But neither Fury nor Bai Luo acknowledged it; he simply smiled and said, 'If I were to give an interview in bed, it shouldn't become a political scandal, right?' 0

Nick, still serious, rubbed his chin and responded, 'If you're not running for president, it shouldn't be an issue.' 0

By the time Bai Luo returned to the new hotel, it was nearly evening. Natasha seemed to still be out, and Coulson was busy helping Tony clean up after Iron Man's latest escapade. He was still trying to persuade Tony to join S.H.I.E.L.D., which was no simple task given Tony's pride and reluctance to be part of any organization that would oversee him. 0

Having moved to a new place, Bai Luo thought he could enjoy a quiet night. However, he didn't expect that when he returned after moving his things and grabbing a bite to eat, his room would already be filled with familiar faces. 0

As Bai Luo opened the door, the first thing he noticed was two beautiful women in the room. 0

They were identical Lornas—short dark green hair, pale skin, and bright red lips adorned with black nail polish. They exuded both fragility and strength in stark contrast. The only difference was that one Lorna glared angrily at the other while the other wore a cheerful smile. 0

Seated casually on Bai Luo's bed was another old acquaintance—Magneto. 0

Dressed in a red trench coat, Magneto looked even paler than the last time Bai Luo saw him, yet his gaze remained sharp and filled with the confidence of a strong man. 0

As Bai Luo stepped inside, Eric smiled and said, 'Long time no see, Bai.' 0

Before Bai Luo could respond, the ever-smiling Lorna chimed in, 'Guess which one is your real fiancée?' 0

'With things being like this, do I really need to guess?' Bai Luo replied somewhat speechless. 'Raven Darkholme—long time no see.'" 0

Then his gaze turned to Lorna. "Ah, my fiancée, a day apart feels like three autumns." 0

Lorna raised her eyebrows, looking exceptionally beautiful. 0

Magneto chuckled and said, "Is that an Eastern saying?" 0

"Of course," Bai Luo nodded, finally looking at Magneto, who was seated in the main position. "Look at my fiancée's expression; she didn't come here willingly." 0

Magneto replied, "Of course, but Bai Luo, I must remind you that although you proposed the engagement twenty years ago in Kansas City, I have yet to give my consent— in other words, Lorna is not your fiancée." 0

Bai Luo smiled and said mischievously, "I never really intended to seek your opinion." 0

With that, he pulled over a chair and sat down. "So, what do you need from me?" 0
