Chapter Eighty-Four: I Lost Captain America
Bai Luo's words were left unfinished, not because Steve had already engaged in a fight with the butcher known as No Common Ground, but because, at that moment, the scene shifted dramatically.
In an instant, the environment around Bai Luo transformed from a dark, grimy corridor into a bright, mirror-like hospital.
All traces of decay vanished like a receding tide, and every light in the hospital corridor flickered to life. Even the wall that Bai Luo had just demolished returned to its original state in an instant.
Then, within Bai Luo's vision, a Nurse appeared.
Yes, it was indeed a Nurse.
She wore a V-neck nurse's uniform that accentuated her figure, and beneath her short skirt were long legs that seemed to go on forever.
However, those were the only two appealing aspects about her.
Because she was a monster.
First of all, her pristine white nurse's outfit was stained with splotches of dirt and blood, revealing a grayish hue. Her exposed skin was covered in numerous deep purple veins—her face was not even recognizable as a face but rather a grotesque, blood-red blister that had grown over her features, looking extremely terrifying.
This nurse approached Bai Luo step by step, holding a massive syringe in one hand while emitting a wheezing sound.
At this moment, however, Bai Luo's attention was not entirely on her. He realized that with the change of scenery, Steve Rogers—who had just been by his side—had vanished without a trace.
Captain America and the butcher had both disappeared as if they had never existed at all.
Bai Luo thought for a moment and began to piece together what had happened.
Silent Ridge has a multi-world mode, and the only possibility when he and Captain America separated in the same location is that they ended up in different "Silent Ridges."
Of course, whether this place can truly be considered Silent Ridge is still up for debate.
After all, Silent Ridge is not just a building.
Bai Luo took a deep breath, staring at the nurse who was slowly approaching him. He thought for a moment and said, "Nurse, can you talk?"
As soon as Bai Luo spoke, the nurse stopped right in front of him, holding a large syringe filled with some unknown sickly green liquid that was dripping from the needle. Then she emitted a series of "huh huh huh" sounds.
Bai Luo listened carefully for a while and realized that the nurse was indeed trying to communicate with him—though all she said was "huh huh huh," there were variations in the length of the sounds and fluctuations in tone.
After pondering for a moment, Bai Luo continued, "I'm here to look for someone."
Bubble-Head Nurse: "Huh huh, huh huh huh."
Bai Luo nodded earnestly and said, "Yes, yes, yes. I have an older sister who might be sick and admitted to your hospital, but she could also have been transferred to another hospital. Before I came here, I specifically inquired about it; this place used to be called Silent Ridge, but I don't know where it moved afterward. I'm just worried that she might have been transferred elsewhere."
If Steve were standing next to Bai Luo at that moment, his jaw would likely drop because he could never have imagined that Bai Luo's plan to find someone was simply to come in and ask the monsters.

The Bubble-Head Nurse swayed slightly, her chest undulating. Just when Bai Luo thought she wanted something, she suddenly raised the syringe in her hand and lunged directly at him.
Bai Luo was taken aback, thinking how this creature was even less reasonable than a Reincarnator.
He immediately stepped back, but he was quick, and the nurse was even faster. In almost an instant, the syringe filled with dark green pus was nearly thrust into Bai Luo's face.
Of course, the frying pan in Bai Luo's hand was not just for show. He raised it high and slammed it against the nurse's syringe, then leaped into action, swinging down two Earth Fire Talismans he had learned just a few days ago.
The talismans flew from his hands and landed on the nurse, igniting instantly.
Flames engulfed her body, revealing a hint of soft pink beneath her dirty nurse's uniform. If one could overlook her face at that moment, they might see a different kind of allure in her writhing form amidst the fire.
The nurse's "hissing" turned into a piercing scream, yet she still charged at Bai Luo with fierce determination, undeterred by the flames.
Bai Luo had initially thought that encountering a monster like this would lead to a friendly chat, but since she dared to stab him, he wouldn't hold back.
The fire raged on her fiercely as Bai Luo silently retreated, swinging the frying pan and delivering a sharp smack to her head.
Well, he swung a frying pan.
The nurse collapsed to the ground, engulfed in flames.
Bai Luo felt a bit uneasy.
He thought to himself that this was the territory of these monsters; if anyone found out he had come in and killed a big nurse right off the bat, wouldn’t he be in trouble?
So after decisively giving her another smack with the frying pan to ensure she wouldn’t move again, he turned and walked down the brightly lit hospital corridor. In the blink of an eye, he turned a corner and moved to the other end.
Only the nurse's anguished screams echoed hauntingly in the distance.
Bai Luo actually intended to look for Captain America since that guy had been tricked into coming here by him.
Bai Luoxin thought that in other parts of the Marvel universe, Captain America could walk with confidence and had plenty of combat experience. However, here, Captain America was just a naive rookie. He would chat with monstrous creatures like the Butcher, but when faced with something non-human, he would likely brandish his shield without hesitation. Bai Luo wasn't worried about Captain America being scared by any demons or monsters; rather, he feared that this guy might end up getting himself hurt.
But now, Bai Luo had clearly lost track of Captain America, and they were no longer in the same dimensional space. Bai Luo had no way to reach him.
In fact, Bai Luo was somewhat confused about his current dimensional location.
Logically speaking, the inner world of Silent Ridge should be a place filled with decay and darkness, reeking of blood. Yet, as Bai Luo looked at the brightly lit hospital with its freshly painted walls, he felt utterly bewildered.
However, Bai Luo had one advantage.
If he didn't understand something, he would simply ask.
He walked down the empty hospital corridor, and as the screams behind him grew fainter, he encountered two other nurses.
