Chapter Eighty-Five: I Might Be Sick 0

Bai Luo turned the corner of the hospital and immediately spotted two nurses approaching him. 0

These two nurses looked quite similar to the ones Bai Luo had just seen, one of them being a Bubble-Head Nurse, who had a rather ample chest. The other nurse was a hunched figure, with a massive tumor growing on her back that nearly covered her entire backside. Well, this was the Tumor Nurse. 0

The Bubble-Head Nurse continued to make her characteristic "heh heh heh" sound. 0

However, her companion seemed capable of speech. Beneath her disheveled hair, her pale face bore a unique and alluring beauty. 0

The Bubble-Head Nurse still held an oversized syringe in her hand, filled with some indescribably sickly green pus; meanwhile, the Tumor Nurse dragged along a long hammer that seemed completely out of place in this hospital, producing an unsettling sound as it scraped along the floor. 0

Bai Luo had just summarized his experiences and reorganized his strategy. He thought to himself that he had probably been wrong before; not handing over something and seeking help from others was clearly not a wise move. So... 0

Bai Luo stared at the two swaying nurses for a moment and smiled, saying, "Hello, nurses. I might be sick, so..." 0

This phrase proved effective. Upon hearing it, the two nurses immediately halted in their tracks. The hunched Tumor Nurse slightly raised her head, her black hair obscuring half of her face. With one blood-stained eye fixed intently on Bai Luo, she spoke in a hoarse voice, "What... illness do you have?" 0

Bai Luo rubbed his chin while contemplating the two figures before him, thinking about an inexplicable mix of thoughts. He then said, "I'm not quite sure; it's just that I feel very uncomfortable when I come into contact with something or when something touches me. I think it might be some kind of rare disease or perhaps even a new medical condition. How about we start with some hospitalization procedures or see if we can meet with someone higher up in the hospital?" 0

With this statement, Bai Luo first fabricated a symptom to avoid any unwanted actions from these ruthless old nurses. Then he aimed for two goals: to encounter a higher-level creature to ask questions or to find a way to stay here. 0

Bai Luo firmly believed that as long as there were creatures capable of communication in this world, they could be outsmarted. 0

After Bai Luo finished speaking, the two slowly advancing nurses finally stopped their approach toward him and fell into a momentary silence. 0

Bai Luo realized that the two nurse sisters were likely deep in thought at that moment. 0

Then, the one holding the large syringe shouted and charged towards Bai Luo, raising high the syringe filled with green pus. 0

This scene was almost identical to the first encounter Bai Luo had with a Bubble-Head Nurse when she lunged at him. 0

Bai Luo thought: Did I say something wrong again? 0

But this time, he did not act recklessly; instead, he took a cautious step back and murmured, "This is..." 0

The last Bubble-Head Nurse's "huh huh huh" had been incomprehensible to him, but this time, there was someone who could speak. The Tumor Nurse cleared her throat ominously and said, "Adrenaline." 0

Bai Luo stared at the large syringe in the Bubble-Head Nurse's hand, utterly shocked. 0

He thought: Could it be that I misunderstood the previous nurse's good intentions? 0

Meanwhile, on the other side, Steve Rogers was fiercely hammering his opponent. 0

Unlike Bai Luo, who had suddenly found himself in another Silent Ridge instance, Captain America had remained in place. Clearly, he did not share Bai Luo's luck; the butcher was not someone who liked to talk. 0

Moreover, Captain America was completely bewildered by Bai Luo's disappearance—indeed, everyone watching had probably realized by now that Bai Luo had forgotten some key elements of Captain America's setting in Silent Ridge. 0

Thus, regarding Bai Luo's sudden absence, Captain America clearly believed it was the doing of the imposing figure before him. 0

So... after "No Common Ground", the two of them went straight into a fight. 0

This butcher was also a BSS Level character in Silent Ridge, with physical abilities far beyond that of an ordinary person. Coupled with his massive size and nearly indestructible life form, he undoubtedly held an absolute advantage in one-on-one combat. 0

If anyone dared to confront such a being alone, they would surely be courting death. 0

But... the butcher was now facing Captain America. 0

At first, Steve Rogers was indeed at a disadvantage, being pressured by this brute. However, with his shield in hand and extensive combat experience, Steve quickly began to find the key to countering such an opponent. He struck back fiercely, turning the tide of the battle. 0

Thus, the scene before us unfolded— 0

Captain America was perched on the butcher's neck, hammering away at the brute's helmet with his shield. 0

However, as he continued to strike, he suddenly heard a piercing alarm. In an instant, he realized that the butcher had vanished right before him. Immediately afterward, time around him began to warp; the ash that filled the hospital disappeared in that moment, and the colors of the space shifted from a dull gray to a terrifying dark hue tinged with yellow. The floor and walls became mottled, revealing corroded metal structures beneath. 0

In almost an instant, Captain America remained in the same spot within the hospital, but his surroundings had transformed as if fast-forwarded hundreds of times and enhanced with effects, resembling an entirely different space. 0

At that moment, Steve found himself in what theoretically was the "inner world" of Silent Ridge. 0

The most critical point was that Captain America discovered his opponent was gone. 0

The butcher had vanished just as suddenly as he had appeared. 0

Captain America slowly stood up, gripping his shield. To be honest, he felt a bit dazed. After a moment of contemplation, he shouted provocatively down the corridor, "Coward! Are you scared of me?" 0

Clearly, Captain America still thought this was a ploy by the butcher to escape. 0

However, the response to Captain America's shout came from deep within the hospital—a soft sob belonging to a girl. 0

Captain America's brow immediately furrowed. 0

In his mind, he thought—there's actually a child trapped here? 0

He hesitated for a moment, then searched the area around him again. After confirming that both the butcher and Bai Luo were nowhere to be found, he slung his iconic shield over his shoulder and ran down the eerie corridor toward the source of the crying. 0

It was evident that he intended to rescue any civilians that might be present first. 0
