Chapter Ninety-Three: I Am the Son of Odin
Ten days later.
In New Mexico, Old Bridge Town.
A fierce wind rose from the dark night, and the clouds in the sky merged into one. The howling of the wind could be heard from afar, but what was most eerie was that when viewed from a distance, one could see a bright Aurora above the swirling sandstorm, indicating that this sudden storm emerging from the darkness was anything but ordinary.
This storm was indeed extraordinary.
It was the Rainbow Bridge passage of Asgard, and at this moment, Thor was traversing through space.
What unfolded before him resembled the opening scene of the first Thor movie, where Thor was stripped of his powers and Mjolnir by his father Odin and cast down to Earth. In the film, when Thor descended from the Rainbow Bridge, he happened to encounter Jane's Group, who were there for research and observation.
However, everything was about to change.
Bai Luo was braving the fierce wind, steadily approaching the scene. From a distance, he could see the headlights of Jane's vehicle, while Thor's figure was obscured by the chaotic sandstorm.
But Bai Luo knew that according to the storyline, Jane would inevitably meet Thor. In other words… finding Jane's Group meant he had found Mr. Thor.
Thus, Bai Luo pressed on against the howling wind. The Iron Body Talisman granted him exceptional physical prowess; aside from forcing him to tightly close his mouth and nose, the environment had little substantial effect on him.
Soon enough, the sandstorm and wind came to a halt. After all, this was not a true disaster but merely a change caused by Asgard's Rainbow Bridge traversal.
The Rainbow Bridge originated from Norse mythology and became a passage connecting Asgard to the Nine Realms in the Marvel universe. By passing through it, one could reach their destination in a remarkably short time—regardless of how far apart they were in terms of physical distance.
In Marvel's world, there was a famous gatekeeper of the Rainbow Bridge named Heimdall, who could oversee the Nine Realms and possessed unfathomable power.
Of course, this had nothing to do with the current situation.
As soon as the sandstorm subsided, Bai Luo quickened his pace because he saw that Jane's vehicle had also stopped ahead. This meant they had found Thor.
However, things were not as good as they sounded.
Jane Foster appeared flustered.
She had traveled a long way with her father and friends to observe this peculiar physical phenomenon but never expected that they would accidentally hit someone while driving through the sandstorm.
All Jane heard was a loud crash as that unknown person who had appeared in the midst of the storm was thrown backward and landed behind their vehicle.
As fate would have it, just at the moment their car collided with the man who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, the raging sandstorm abruptly ceased, and even the Aurora in the sky seemed to pause.
However, Jane found herself too late to observe the physical phenomenon she had longed for. She quickly brought the car to a halt and rushed with her father to check on the condition of the person they had hit.
The man was exceptionally tall, with striking golden hair that stood out even in the dark of night. His expression was one of anger as he stomped his feet and shouted something incomprehensible.
At first, Jane Foster thought he was cursing at her, considering she had just knocked him down. While she was astonished by his seemingly unharmed and robust physique, she felt a twinge of shame. But as she approached and began to understand what he was saying, her perspective shifted.
His words were rather absurd.
Something about "I am the Son of Odin, Thor," and "You cannot do this," along with mentions of Odin…
The more she listened, the more confused she became. She exchanged a glance with her father, and they both saw the same look in each other's eyes—had they just hit a delusional drunkard?
Meanwhile, Jane's best friend, who was trailing behind them, had a different focus: "This guy is really handsome!"
It seemed that Mr. Thor finally noticed the cautious group approaching him. He whipped around like lightning, his golden hair flying as he asked, "Are you talking about me behind my back?"
To be honest, while he was indeed handsome, there was something slightly unhinged about him. Especially in Jane's mind, he seemed like a drunken fool who had lost his way. However, considering that she had hit him, it wouldn’t be right to just leave him without checking on him. So this kind-hearted girl sighed inwardly and said, "Are you... okay? We just hit you..."
"Is it you who has sullied me?" Thor's eyebrows shot up in arrogance as he declared, "Do you know who I am? I am the Son of Odin, Thor, from Asgard..."
Jane: "..."
At that moment, her father stepped forward and asked, "Do you feel any discomfort? If something's wrong, we can take you to the hospital; if not, we'll be on our way."
He clearly did not intend to engage further with this drunken madman spouting nonsense.
But Jane's best friend tugged at her again and whispered, "He’s really so handsome!"
Thor furrowed his brow tightly and repeated his grand introduction with an air of superiority before stating, "I demand to see Odin."
Jane felt speechless. Just as she was about to say something, she suddenly noticed her father giving her a knowing look. She instinctively glanced behind Thor and saw a man sneaking up behind him with a dark frying pan in hand.
Jane's kind nature kicked in; her brow furrowed as she realized things were not as simple as they seemed. She intended to warn him.
But the sneaky figure approaching Thor immediately sensed her intent. In an instant, he stepped forward like lightning and swung the frying pan down hard onto Thor's head.
A loud crash echoed through the arena.
Thor immediately realized he had been ambushed. "Who is it? I am Odin's..."
His words were cut short as he staggered and fell, knocked over by the frying pan that had struck him.
In front of the God of Thunder, Jane and the others were completely dumbfounded.
— Where did this brute come from?
At the same moment, in Asgard, at the end of the Rainbow Bridge, the sword-wielding Heimdall suddenly opened his tightly shut eyes.
Clearly, he had "seen" this scene unfold.
