Chapter 125: Rolling Around
Without a second thought, Bai Luo took action. Lorna's attacks were effective, and he focused entirely on defense, flinging his Tortoise Shell Talisman without hesitation. Although the Reincarnator's blade was fierce, it couldn't overcome Bai Luo's ample supply of Talismans. Even if he ran out of the ones in hand, Bai Luo could still draw symbols in mid-air.
The Reincarnator found himself in an awkward and frustrating situation. He couldn't reach Lorna, who was controlling more and more metal to attack him. Each time he tried to strike, Bai Luo intercepted him with ease. No matter how much he tried to bait Bai Luo into attacking, his opponent remained steadfast in defense, leaving all the offensive maneuvers to the woman manipulating the metal behind him.
Bai Luo's strategy was quite simple. Since he and Lorna were able to keep the arrogant Reincarnator under pressure, he aimed to maintain that state—essentially a continuous combo until defeat. He focused on defense while Lorna unleashed a barrage of attacks with her metal.
This plastic Katana-wielding Reincarnator was clearly not invulnerable. He actively defended against each of Lorna's strikes, using agile swordplay and footwork to evade her attacks. However, the number of metal objects under Lorna's control continued to grow. She had pulled nearly every usable piece of metal from the S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft that wouldn't interfere with its operation, creating a relentless assault against the Reincarnator.
Despite this, the Reincarnator proved capable; wielding his plastic sword, he managed to defend against the onslaught of metal shards with impressive skill and even counterattacked them multiple times. It was evident that he was a master swordsman among Reincarnators.
Yet, whenever he exposed a weakness, Bai Luo refrained from taking advantage of it. He stood firm like a mountain before Lorna, resolutely guarding her. While he might not be able to eliminate this Reincarnator quickly, Lorna was continuously on the offensive. Bai Luo understood that as long as they maintained this situation, the Reincarnator would become increasingly anxious as time dragged on.
Thus, Bai Luo remained unhurried, engaging in a slow battle.
Indeed, the Reincarnator felt some anxiety but mostly frustration and helplessness. After fighting for so long, he hadn't even touched his opponents' shadows; every strike was blocked by that peculiar object wielded by Bai Luo. However, this Reincarnator didn't initially consider that Bai Luo's abilities stemmed from Eastern Talismans. Instead, he wondered if this unknown figure might be a magician from Earth—perhaps a disciple of the Supreme Sorcerer or The Ancient One? The shield Bai Luo created bore little resemblance to what he had seen The Ancient One use in Marvel films, yet its function was surprisingly similar: pure defense.
Of course, this was just the Reincarnator's initial thought. As time passed and his inability to break through persisted while retreating was not an option, his frustration grew deeper. He felt increasingly powerless as if his hands were tied, and this sense of helplessness soon morphed into irritation.
Finally, after a swift slash, the Reincarnator in front of Bai Luomian retreated like lightning. In the midst of his spin, he raised his other hand and drew another knife from behind his waist.
As expected, that knife was also made of plastic. This guy dared to confront a magnetic mutant up close, clearly having prepared well in advance.
With a single spin and slash, he forcefully sent a whole array of metal fragments crashing towards Lorna.
Bai Luo noticed a detail: the Reincarnator's Main God wristwatch was evidently made of metal, yet for some unknown reason, Lorna could not affect it at all.
In that fleeting moment, the Reincarnator seized the opportunity and charged fiercely towards Lorna and Bai Luo.
The Reincarnator held a blade in each hand and shouted, "Ha!" Immediately after, both blades slashed out simultaneously.
At that moment, the Reincarnator's speed, strength, and the energy carried by his blades had all escalated to an entirely new level.
Bai Luo raised the Tortoise Shell Talisman to meet the first strike. There was a tremendous clash; Bai Luo's Talisman shattered instantly while the force of the impact sent the Reincarnator's blade soaring high. However, with that blade lifted, he still had another one ready to follow up with a thunderous strike aimed at Bai Luo, moving faster than any limit previously displayed by this Reincarnator.
Was this... unleashing all his power?
This time, the Reincarnator did not retreat. His dual blades struck like lightning, each blow more ferocious than the last. His face twisted into a fierce snarl as if to say that since you insist on standing in my way, I’ll turn you into minced meat first.
Yet Bai Luo remained calm and collected. As the saying goes, when soldiers come, block them; when water comes, dam it. The speed at which the Reincarnator wielded his blades was impressive, but Bai Luo’s speed in casting Talismans was even faster. He had practiced making Talismans and instantaneously casting them for so long that his hand speed had surpassed that of many powerful lifelong bachelors.
Thus, the two engaged in an intense battle. No matter how the Reincarnator swung his blades, Bai Luo could steadily block them with his Talismans. Inside the aircraft, however, it was a whirlwind of blade energy; sharp winds swept across every direction. The pilot struggled to maintain stability during flight; despite his efforts, the entire aircraft swayed violently as if it could plummet from the sky at any moment. Lorna managed to steady herself and even used her abilities to assist Bai Luo in countering attacks. But behind them, Mr. Bruce Banner—who had been hit with a large dose of tranquilizers—was not so fortunate. He was tossed around inside the cabin like a rag doll, bouncing from one side to another as if he were a pinball.
But it seemed that the deeply unconscious Banner still showed no signs of transforming into the Hulk despite the impacts.
At that moment, the Reincarnator in front of Bai Luo stepped back and let out an unintelligible shout in Japanese. He merged the twin blades in his hands, and just when Bai Luo thought this guy had lost his mind, he shouted again. To Bai Luo's surprise, flames erupted from the merged blades, and they came crashing down towards him!
