Chapter 126: The Reversal of Fortune
Under Bai Luo's gaze, the two plastic knives suddenly erupted into flames. When they separated, the blades held by the Reincarnator were completely engulfed in fire, transforming into flaming swords.
Bai Luo was taken aback, staring at the wave of heat approaching him, and exclaimed in frustration, "Adding a fire buff to a plastic knife? That's just not scientific!"
However, the Reincarnator paid no attention to Bai Luo's complaints; perhaps he couldn't even hear the Chinese being spoken. He swung the two flaming knives with lightning speed, deflecting Lorna's series of metal attacks and wielding his katana like a whirlwind as he charged at Bai Luo.
The form of the knives had changed, and their power increased accordingly, becoming even more ferocious than before. Yet, the Tortoise Shell Talisman in Bai Luo's hand was not to be underestimated; it was capable of withstanding the attacks from a B-Class Reincarnator's sword formation. However, this time, Bai Luo found it difficult to remain still. Each time his Tortoise Shell Talisman clashed with the opponent's blades, he was forced to step back half a pace. The flames on the plastic knives even emitted a blade-like aura that left marks on the walls of the aircraft with a mere swipe.
The Reincarnator wielded his dual swords like a whirlwind, effortlessly deflecting Lorna's attacks while simultaneously pushing Bai Luo back.
At that moment, the tide had turned against Bai Luo. He considered using Palm Thunder but hesitated; if he unleashed it inside the aircraft and missed, they would all plummet from the sky.
Yet Bai Luo was not without options. After exchanging blows with his opponent for a while, he began pulling out another type of talisman.
It was the East Wind Talisman. This talisman itself wasn't particularly powerful; it merely redirected airflow within a certain range. However, in an instant, Bai Luo threw out over twenty East Wind Talismans, causing a fierce wind to whip through the S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft. As a result, Lorna's controlled metallic objects were all blown away.
The flames from the Reincarnator's dual swords were also caught up in the gusts, swirling uncontrollably.
Seeing this scene, the Chuunibyou Reincarnator was visibly startled. He glanced at Bai Luo in disbelief before quickly retreating, clearly intending to wait out this attack.
But Bai Luo's supply of talismans was not infinite; however, he had plenty in reserve. After pushing back his opponent with a gust of wind, he switched tactics to water and cold air. With one hand holding a talisman and chanting incantations under his breath while wildly waving his other hand, he flung out paper talismans at an astonishing speed that left Lorna dumbfounded.
Most of Bai Luo's talismans were of low grade but abundant in number. One talisman could create a stream of water; with dozens thrown out at once, it became a flood.
Before the Reincarnator could react, he found himself submerged in salty water. The subsequent wave of cold air quickly froze him into a large ice block.
The already battered S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft tilted severely as a result.
Bai Luo shouted directly, "Pilot! Open the hatch!"
The Katana's Chuunibyou Reincarnator had seemingly been frozen into a block of ice, but astonishingly, the dual blades in his hands, though encased in ice, were not extinguished; instead, flames were gradually melting the ice from within.
This fire was indeed unscientific.
It seemed that this layer of ice could not hold the Reincarnator for long.
Hearing this, the pilot immediately opened the hatch at the back of the flying vehicle.
Bai Luo stepped forward and kicked the Reincarnator down.
The frozen figure plummeted downward like a large ice chunk.
From his elevated position at the hatch, Bai Luo looked down and threw a Palm Thunder.
The essence of Bai Luo's Talisman was to bombard relentlessly; after all, the target was a sitting duck. In less than two minutes, he had unleashed over thirty Palm Thunder Talismans.
These talismans transformed mid-air into flickering orbs of distorted light, striking the already frozen Reincarnator with a thunderous crash as they hit the ground.
Almost simultaneously, Bai Luo received a notification from the System.
[Dear Host, congratulations! You have killed a B-Class Reincarnator and earned 500 Old White Rabbit Candy Points.]
This was probably the most humiliating death for a Reincarnator.
Bai Luo took a deep breath, thinking to himself: If I had known you were this weak, I would have killed you long ago.
He turned around and met Lorna's gaze.
Lorna smiled at Bai Luo.
At that moment, as the Reincarnator fell, the Light-Light Fruit Ability user swiftly turned his head, his eyes glinting with cold light as they locked onto the flying vehicle where Bai Luo and the others were.
A terrifying strike was about to unleash its power, but at that very moment, his eyes suddenly rolled back, foam spilling from his mouth, and he fell straight down from the sky!
In the gaze of the crowd, a beautiful woman with a translucent white appearance emerged from the aircraft that Reincarnator was aboard. In mid-air, she stretched her perfect curves like a spirit, her black pupils completely vanished. Golden and gray light danced around her body, and her clothes, even the earrings she wore, floated as if caught in a windless breeze. At that moment, she appeared both eerie and ethereal; this was Mana, another Reincarnator from the Buddha Light Team.
This was clearly a form of non-physical attack, which unexpectedly knocked the previously dominating Shining Fruit Reincarnator out of the air in an instant.
The Dog-headed Man was already drenched in blood from the attack, evidently having suffered greatly from the blows dealt by the Shimmering Reincarnator. He let out a shout that echoed in the air, sounding remarkably impressive, yet it was a complaint directed at his teammate: "Why didn't you come sooner?"
At that moment, however, the aircraft carrying Bai Luo and his team erupted with a loud bang. The structure finally could not bear the strain and collapsed in a deafening roar!
The attack from the Shining Fruit Reincarnator had missed Bai Luo, but their aircraft had split apart on its own.
The aircraft broke into two halves instantly, losing all power as it plummeted downward. Yet this fall lasted only a brief moment before some unseen force halted it mid-air.
