Chapter 138: The So-Called Sincerity 0

For Sato Ryuseki's words, Bai Luo was momentarily taken aback. 0

"Vacationer... what the hell?" 0

But Bai Luo quickly realized that Mr. Sato had formed some sort of erroneous judgment about his identity—one that even Bai Luo himself was not entirely clear about. 0

It was evident that Sato did not see Bai Luo as just a character in the story. Perhaps from the very first moment he laid eyes on Bai Luo, he had this thought, which explained why he had brought both Bai Luo and Lorna into the apartment and had been communicating in riddles all along. 0

However, it was clear that while this person believed Bai Luo was not a native character of this world, he failed to recognize that Bai Luo was a traveler from another realm. On the contrary, he seemed to think of him as someone entirely different. 0

At this moment, as Bai Luo looked at Sato Ryuseki, who was gazing at him with an unwavering conviction, he honestly felt a bit lost for words. 0

After a brief pause, Bai Luo simply smiled slowly. He neither answered directly nor elaborated on the topic. He knew nothing about this "Vacationer," and since Sato seemed so convinced of his own judgment, it made no difference whether Bai Luo acknowledged it or deflected the conversation. The other party would remain steadfast in his belief, and this... posed no harm to Bai Luo. 0

Given this situation, he realized that it was better not to complicate matters further; he understood better than anyone the dangers of misunderstanding. 0

Thus, Bai Luo asked, "So... why should I trust you?" 0

Sato Ryuseki chuckled lightly. Clearly, he interpreted Bai Luo's evasiveness as an acknowledgment of his identity. After pondering for a moment, he slowly pulled something out from behind him—it was actually an item retrieved from the Main God's wristwatch space. He did this to avoid raising suspicions from Lorna and Loki. Unbeknownst to him, Bai Luo often nonchalantly took items out of his Item Storage Talisman. 0

To Bai Luo's surprise, what Sato produced was a music box. 0

The music box was made of exquisite materials. As he opened it in front of Bai Luo, the interior revealed a holographic projection device, contrasting sharply with its antique exterior. Within it, a figure with green twin tails danced gracefully like a butterfly, her movements breathtakingly beautiful. 0

That green figure could only be Hatsune Miku. 0

Lorna gasped in surprise at once. 0

Loki, on the other hand, wore an expression of indifference, his gaze darting between Lorna and Bai Luo as he continued to search for an opportunity to escape. 0

Sato Ryuseki said, "Don't worry, this form of hers is not lethal; she is merely a songstress trapped in a world of music and electronics." 0

Bai Luo smiled and asked, "So you mean this thing is the girl you created back in the Nishiden River District?" 0

His eyes narrowed dangerously as he realized that not acting immediately had been a wise choice; this guy was holding a map-level Hatsune Miku! 0

Sato Ryuseki glanced at Bai Luo and asked, "Do you know her?" 0

Bai Luo replied without changing his expression, "She wouldn't... have anything to do with your team name, would she?" 0

Though Bai Luo's tone was speculative and uncertain, Sato Ryuseki was sure that he knew Hatsune Miku. His judgment was not wrong; this person was definitely a Vacationer! 0

Sato Ryuseki grew more convinced of his assessment of Bai Luo but continued to follow his lead, briefly introducing Hatsune Miku before saying, "To us, Hatsune Miku represents a belief—a goal for which we strive tirelessly. This entity is one of the most powerful among us; it possesses five opportunities that allow Hatsune Miku to manifest thousands of times over with an incredibly bright voice capable of shaking the entire world." 0

Upon hearing this, Lorna could hardly contain herself and muttered, "You mean to destroy the world with her voice?" 0

Sato Ryuseki clearly did not care about Lorna's feelings; his gaze was fixed intently on Bai Luo. He spoke slowly, "I can hand it over to you. This is our most powerful trump card, and we have two uses left—does this not demonstrate our sincerity?" 0

Sufficient sincerity. 0

Bai Luo genuinely believed him. 0

For a team that called themselves "Hatsune Victory," handing over Hatsune Miku was akin to surrendering their very lives. 0

Yet Sato Ryuseki continued, "But I must clarify, this is Hatsune Miku. She is extremely important to me and our entire team. I hope you can take good care of her. If we fail to fulfill our agreement, you may dispose of her as you wish; if we show sufficient sincerity, then… I hope you will return her on time." 0

His eyes, hidden behind heavy glasses, bore into Bai Luo, clearly expecting him to make a decision. 0

However, Bai Luo did not respond immediately. Instead, he asked, "Do you really think I can represent S.H.I.E.L.D.'s thoughts and attitudes?" 0

Sato Ryuseki replied, "Not just now, but you are a Vacationer, and…" 0

He gestured toward Lorna Dane sitting across from them, making his intentions clear: "I believe you have the ability and the means to help us forge a perfect alliance." 0

Bai Luo smiled. 0

He looked at the person before him and smiled gently; in this dark world, his smile appeared exceptionally warm and friendly. 0

Sato Ryuseki felt a bit perplexed by Bai Luo's smile, but after a moment of silence, he said, "Then…" 0

"Alright." Bai Luo suddenly retracted his smile at that moment and said, "So what do we need to do?" 0

Sato Ryuseki slowly shook his head and replied, "We just hope that S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers can leave this area and not help anyone." 0

Standing behind them, Loki hesitated, his expression filled with conflict. 0

Upon hearing this, Bai Luo smiled slightly and said, "Is it really that good? We don't have to exert ourselves but can still reap the benefits?" 0

Sato Ryuseki nodded. 0

Bai Luo took the Hatsune Miku music box from his hands, fiddled with it for a moment, and then pondered, "But what if you all end up dead? What if that Buddha Light Team wipes you out?" 0

In response to Bai Luo's question, Sato Ryuseki smiled broadly and said, "That absolutely won't happen." 0
