The school bell rang, signaling the end of the day at the kindergarten.

After sending off the last kindergarten student, Zhang Yinlin hurriedly took Yelai home. She was in a rush.
They drove swiftly back to the house that Luo Zhenxue had prepared for Yelai before leaving. It still looked just like it did three years ago. The walls that had been blown apart were restored to their original state.
There was no trace left of the destruction caused by the Anomalous Entity.
"Stop reminiscing and come with me to the basement," Zhang Yinlin urged, not wanting to waste time. She pulled Yelai toward the basement.
Zhang Yinlin's home, like Luo Zhenxue's, had a basement. It used to be a place for Luo Zhenxue to train and practice Sequence Power after coming home. Now that he was gone, it had been left unused, but thanks to Zhang Yinlin's cleaning, it remained tidy and well-kept.
With a loud bang, she shut the basement door behind them.
In a vast underground chamber of five hundred square meters, only Yelai and Zhang Yinlin were present. There was no possibility of outsiders, nor any eavesdropping.
"Now, Yelai, you can give me a proper answer. Have you really become a Sequencer?" Zhang Yinlin's gaze never left Yelai.
Not long ago, Yelai had signaled her to agree to Zhong Zhi's proposal. After Zhong Zhi left, she immediately asked Yelai why. Yelai had told her that he was confident he could handle Zhong Zhi and take him down, perhaps even uncover who was pulling the strings behind him.

"Yes, I'm not joking, Sister Yinlin. I really am a Sequencer," Yelai said earnestly.
Zhang Yinlin was taken aback. "Yelai, have you lost your mind? Do you realize that connecting with an Anomalous Entity using the White Sequence Key and utilizing Sequence Power comes at a cost that no human can bear? Just using it once could threaten your life."
It was precisely because the cost of connecting the White Sequence Key with an Anomalous Entity was so high that it was difficult for someone to become a Sequencer through it. Even if one did manage to become a Sequencer, their life would be short-lived.
"I know you want to help Zhenxue, but—" she spoke rapidly like a machine gun.
Yelai interrupted her. "Yinlin, you misunderstand me. I have indeed become a Sequencer, but it's not as dangerous as you think. When I use Sequence Power, the cost won't be life-threatening like it is with the 'waste key'."
Zhang Yinlin felt the words she wanted to say catch in her throat, unspoken. She noticed the change in Yelai's gaze, sensing that things were not as she had imagined. "Are you sure?"
