The alley that Zhong Zhi saw was narrow, barely wide enough for two people to pass through. On either side, it was flanked by rows of residential houses and farmyard walls, casting shadows that obscured the sunlight. Even in broad daylight, it appeared dim.
However, Zhong Zhi was unfazed by the gloom of the alley; his eyes were captivated by a figure within. Under the morning sun, the shadow of this figure stretched long, moving in tandem with its owner.
Quickly, Zhong Zhi caught a glimpse of half of the figure obscured by the shadows of the alley.
His pupils contracted, and his breath caught in his throat.
It had arrived!
Even though he could only see half of the figure and hadn’t even glimpsed its face—only a single shoe peeking out—he recognized the identity of the person from the style of the shoe. This was the Anomalous Entity from Hu Family Village.
It was here!
Originally, he had planned for the Second Squad to locate the Anomalous Entity from Hu Family Village, guiding Zhang Yinlin and the others there. But now, plans had changed unexpectedly. There was no need for the Second Squad to search; the Anomalous Entity had come to them first.
The sudden turn of events left Zhong Zhi unable to maintain his composure, and his expression shifted dramatically.
Zhang Yinlin and the others, who had been closely monitoring Zhong Zhi, immediately noticed his change in demeanor and instinctively turned to look in the direction he was staring at.
Who is that? Is there an ambush?!
As a figure emerged from the alley, Captain Zhao and his team were taken aback. They had remained vigilant about their surroundings but hadn’t sensed this figure approaching.
A Sequence Combat Uniform?
Captain Zhao recognized the attire of the figure in the alley; it was a combat uniform worn by Sequencers from the Safe Zone.
The clothes looked tattered and worn, as if they had been through a fierce battle, leaving the combat uniform in shambles.
Upon seeing this, Captain Zhao's team of Sequencers instinctively became alert, thinking that Zhong Zhi had given up. He ordered the hidden Second Squad to come out. Everyone was on guard, watching the shadow in the alley, fearing an ambush.

Zhang Yinlin, Captain Zhao, and the captain of the Fourth Squad were the first to realize the situation.
"Don't look at its eyes!"
"No! Don't anyone look at its eyes!"
"Don't look at its eyes!!!"
They reacted quickly. The color-changing appearance of Zhong Zhi confirmed that the approaching entity was not one of Zhong Zhi's people. They recalled the message sent by Uncle Zhou not long ago. The identity of the shadow in the alley became clear.
This was the Anomalous Entity from Hu Family Village that could not be gazed upon.
Unfortunately, it was too late. Just as they warned each other, several team members had already reacted and glanced over, but some were a moment too slow and caught sight of the entity's eyes as it emerged from the alley.
This is bad!
Zhang Yinlin and Captain Zhao thought to themselves.
With a loud thud, the figure that stepped out of the alley collapsed to the ground.
It was Lin Tong!
Looking at the fallen figure in the alley, some team members recognized him. This was none other than Lin Tong, a former member of the Second Squad who had appeared on the death list just a few days ago.
"Everyone listen, don't look anyone in the eyes!" Zhang Yinlin shouted.
The current situation left no room for her to clash with Zhong Zhi. That was not Lin Tong; Lin Tong was already dead. This was a corpse possessed by an Incorporeal Anomalous Entity.
As she spoke, Zhang Yinlin's eyes were filled with coldness as she glared fiercely at Zhong Zhi.
Zhong Zhi!!
Her gritted teeth and furious shout were met with Zhong Zhi's loud laughter, followed by the sudden attack of a member from the Third Squad without any warning. The member launched an assault on their companion nearby.
