Zhang Yinlin was in a panic upon witnessing the scene.
"Close your eyes!" she shouted urgently. The speed of Gaze was astonishing; even though she commanded the three Ghost Infants to stop Gaze, it only slightly hindered its progress.
"Quick, stop He Lian!"
Members of the Fifth Squad, responsible for escorting the kindergarten children, quickly activated their Sequence powers in an attempt to prevent Gaze from advancing. However, their efforts were not promising. To avoid being possessed by Gaze and He Lian, they all closed their eyes while using their Sequence powers.
With agility ranked at five, Gaze easily dodged the Sequence Powers hurled at it and let its hair grow wildly like a frenzied beast. The hair whipped like a whip, knocking down members of the Fifth Squad who tried to block its path.
Screams and chaos erupted from behind, causing the children to instinctively turn back.
Upon seeing this, they were all terrified. At such a young age, they could hardly withstand such a scene; the sight of the crazed He Lian made them cry uncontrollably, rendering Zhang Yinlin's desperate shouts for them to close their eyes futile.
Then came a loud bang that struck like a heavy hammer on the hearts of Zhang Yinlin and her group. He Lian, rushing towards the children, fell to the ground and did not rise again.
He was dead.
It was over.
The hearts of Zhang Yinlin and her companions sank to the depths of despair. Without needing to think, they knew that Gaze had transferred its possession to one of the children.
In the next moment, a little girl’s cries abruptly stopped, her neck twisting at an unnatural angle as her spine creaked ominously.
What followed was an eerie laughter that sent chills down everyone’s spine.
The few children standing behind her were caught off guard, their eyes meeting the figure in front of them in confusion.
Bang.
The girl who twisted her neck fell to the ground, lifeless.
It was a chilling sight.
【Gaze】 possessed the remaining children behind her.
Like a domino effect, it left no time for Captain Zhao and the others to think. 【Gaze】 swiftly locked eyes with the children, taking over their bodies and killing them one by one.
In just two or three seconds, three children had already been killed by 【Gaze】's possession.
In an instant, a bloody scene unfolded among the group of children.
The kids screamed in terror, collapsing to the ground in fear, completely unable to hear Zhang Yinlin and the others shouting for them to close their eyes.
An overwhelming sense of fear filled their hearts and minds.
"Separate the children!" Zhang Yinlin's eyes widened in desperation.
She and Captain Zhao, along with several Sequencers, rushed toward the children.
They could no longer worry about whether they would be targeted by 【Gaze】; their priority was to separate the children. If they continued to be possessed one by one like this, within a minute, all thirty or so kids would be dead.
Zhang Yinlin unleashed her full power.
Three Ghost Infants crawled toward the nearest three children.
Including Zhang Yinlin, there were twelve members from the Third Squad and Fifth Squad at this moment, each showcasing their abilities—either protecting one child or two or three at a time.
But just as they attempted to disperse the children, a member of the Fifth Squad picked up one child carefully.
He was cautious.
As he lifted the child, he shielded the child's eyes with his hand to prevent them from making eye contact, just in case 【Gaze】 had possessed that very child.
However, this caution did not yield good results.
The child suddenly raised both hands high.
The child's small hands spread wide, directly blocking the teammate's face.

Cold, lifeless, hollow—nothing like the eyes of a human.
