This was an undeniable fact since the end of the sequence. None of them were willing to give the enemy a chance to escape; after all, an enemy hiding in the shadows was certainly a source of unease.
"Enough talk, it's settled," Uncle Zhou said as he extinguished his cigarette.
Yelai wasn't trying to show off by suggesting he could handle them alone. In fact, it was quite the opposite. He, like the others, didn't want Zhong Zhi and his group to escape. Moreover, he proposed going solo for their safety.
The team members looked bewildered. What kind of logic was this? Setting aside the concern for their safety, wouldn't it make more sense to work together to prevent Zhong Zhi from escaping?
At that moment, Yelai walked ahead, listening to the commotion behind him. He could tell from their hesitation that the team was worried about him facing them alone. He didn't care.
Holding a plastic bag containing Gaze, he forged ahead.
Soon, they rounded a corner on the road and saw two SUVs parked ahead. In front of those vehicles stood a group of people.
When Yelai recognized Zhong Zhi's crew, Zhong Zhi's group also noticed him and reacted in surprise.
"Zhong! Look, someone’s coming! Am I seeing things? Is that Yelai?!"
Before Zhong Zhi's group could process why Yelai was there, their peripheral vision caught sight of something behind him, and their expressions changed dramatically as fear washed over them.
"Zhang Yinlin?!"
"Impossible! How are they not dead?"
They were in shock.
Yelai was not idle either. The moment he saw Zhong Zhi and his group, he shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.
The speed was so astonishing that Zhong Zhi's group was even more horrified.

Zhong Zhi felt his eyelids twitching uncontrollably; without needing to think, he knew Yelai was a Sequencer. His companion, the Vice Captain, also felt his heart racing. The worries he had shared with Zhong Zhi earlier were now a grim reality—Yelai truly was a Sequencer.

Zhong Zhi's group was terrified.
But in the next second, they had no time to ponder or think. Yelai was already right in front of them.
The distance between them was not far—only about twenty meters. For someone of Yelai's rank, it took just a few blinks to close that gap. As Zhong Zhi and his group watched, Yelai did not launch a direct attack; instead, he performed an utterly bizarre action.
He picked up a plastic bag he had opened and threw it towards them.
A cat???
Zhong Zhi and his group were dumbfounded.
Seeing Yelai throw something over, they were frightened, thinking that Yelai had tossed a grenade or a bomb that could harm them. But it turned out to be a cat?
Just as they were bewildered by Yelai's actions, a chill ran down their spines.
Before them, Yelai wore an eerie, unsettling smile that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. With his lips curling into a strange grin, he locked eyes with the adorable Small Orange Cat suspended in the air and slowly uttered a command filled with authority.
"Kill them all."
