This will mark a revolutionary turning point for all humanity in this Year of the Sequence. Humanity will soon become a nation of Sequencers! By then, we will no longer be cornered by Anomalous Entities and will have the hope of reclaiming our rightful home!
The more he thought about it, the more heated he became. Xu Limin tossed his milk tea into the trash can, grabbed two bodyguards, and rushed toward Yelai's house.
Meanwhile, Yelai returned home with Gaze and headed straight for the basement. Bang. He locked the basement door tightly.
Yelai picked up the phone and dialed Zhang Yinlin. "Yinlin, are you done over there? If you are, could you help me buy a dog on your way back?"
"Uh, what kind of dog do you want? A German Shepherd? A Labrador?"
Zhang Yinlin didn't quite understand but agreed nonetheless. "Whatever, just get a dog with good athleticism and energy. Oh, and buy a few more."
"Alright, I'll pick some out."
"Good."
Yelai hung up the phone, rolled up his sleeves, and turned to Gaze. "I've used Sequence quite a bit today, so I need to pay the price. Unfortunately, that means you'll have to suffer for it."
Gaze tilted its head slightly, lacking the intelligence to comprehend Yelai's meaning. Not understanding didn't mean it couldn't sense danger. It instinctively took a step back from Yelai.
Yelai swiftly grabbed its collar, not giving it a chance to retreat, and grinned widely.
Only he and Gaze were in the basement, where complex commands echoed, accompanied by the sound of fists striking flesh and the anguished cries of the Anomalous Entity, the Unknown Horror.
In addition to this, a scent of fear filled the basement, one that only Yelai could perceive, emanating from Gaze. The smell was overwhelmingly potent, making it hard to imagine just how brutally Yelai had tamed it. It was equally difficult to fathom the twisted expression of greed that must have crossed Yelai's face upon detecting such an intense aroma of fear.
As evening approached, a ringing sound echoed from the basement door. Yelai opened it to find Zhang Yinlin standing there, holding several dogs on leashes. Blood smeared across his face, yet he managed to smile.
"Yinlin, you're back so soon," Yelai remarked.
"What have you done?!" Zhang Yinlin replied, stunned.
At that moment, it became clear that not only was Yelai's face stained with blood; his clothes and pants were also splattered with it. He looked like a murderer drenched in blood, indistinguishable from the scene of carnage surrounding him. The strong stench of blood emanating from him caused the dogs in Zhang Yinlin's grasp to bark wildly and back away in fear.
"It's nothing. I'm just paying a price and taming Gaze a bit," Yelai said nonchalantly.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Yinlin immediately understood why Yelai was covered in blood. It turned out he was teaching Gaze a lesson.
Zhang Yinlin understood why Yelai wanted her to buy a dog. She turned her head and glanced towards the basement behind Yelai, where a broken figure lay on the ground, barely resembling a human. Fortunately, she could identify the individual through the tattered clothing; it was Gaze, who had possessed Zhang Tian.
At that moment, Gaze, now inhabiting Zhang Tian's body, was essentially incapacitated and needed a new host. Zhang Yinlin couldn't help but look down at the leashes in her hand, which held several dogs. So this was the reason Yelai wanted her to buy dogs.
Meanwhile, Yelai's gaze also fell upon the dogs. A Husky?
