The Sequence Rank is like climbing stairs; each time you elevate your Rank, it is a leap forward, and it increases geometrically. Every three Rank advancements marks a watershed moment in Rank. Ranks Four and Seven are two such milestones.
This is why Zhong Zhi can serve as the leader of the First Squad; he has reached Rank Four, crossing that watershed, resulting in a qualitative change in Sequence. Rank Seven represents another watershed.
Because of this, any Sequencer who reaches Rank Seven or above is revered as a high-ranking Sequencer, respected and sought after wherever they go, treated as an honored guest. It’s important to note that Yelai's Sequence is not an ordinary one, even extending to the Growth-type Sequence of Fear.
The more he thought about it, the faster his pace became. Yelai felt an increasing urgency to elevate himself to Rank Seven.
Time flew by.
One minute passed.
Meanwhile, at the Point of Resistance, Captain Li and four supporting Sequencers were each watching different directions. They did not let their guard down despite the Acupoint not appearing.
Suddenly, a loud whistle pierced the air.
Captain Li and his team froze for a moment before hearing four barks coming from the armored vehicle behind them.
Woof!
Woof!
Four Huskies leaped out from the back of the armored vehicle, racing swiftly toward the source of the whistle.
Hmm?
They raised their eyebrows at the sound of the whistle, which seemed to be blown by a person, and a vague suspicion began to form in their minds.
Just then, they saw Husky take off running, disappearing from sight.
Captain Li made a quick decision and said, "Let's go after him."
Hurry.
When they finally caught up with Husky, their eyes lit up as they spotted Yelai ahead.
Next to Yelai, an Acupoint suddenly collapsed, and then four Huskies rushed to Yelai's side. Three of the Huskies nuzzled against him while one sat beside him.
"Mr. Ye Lai, we finally found you! Where have you been?" Captain Li exclaimed as they ran up to him.
As they focused on Yelai, shock flashed in their eyes.
Yelai had some injuries, but it was nothing like what they had imagined; he only had a few minor wounds and no life-threatening injuries. It seemed he had single-handedly held off Signal Point without much effort, appearing quite relaxed.
"I chased after Acupoint; they were trying to escape. I was feeling quite excited at the time, so I went after them," Yelai said with a laugh.
Captain Li and the others fell silent, understanding dawning on them.
"Enough about that," Yelai said as he glanced over at Signal Point. "How are the other Defense Points? Do you need help? I still have some strength left to assist if needed; just let me know. Although I may not be able to provide crucial help, I can still do my part."
"Are you sure you still have some strength left?"
"Are you certain you haven't provided crucial help?"
"Are you really only doing your part?"
As Yelai spoke, Captain Li and the others couldn't help but mentally bombard him with questions while instinctively glancing at the silent Signal Point, taking in the lively appearance of Yelai.
"If you still have strength, you should go to Signal Point; they need assistance urgently over there. You go ahead; I'll contact the command center and inform them."
"Then I'll head over now."
Yelai nodded immediately upon hearing, turning to signal Husky as they quickly boarded the armored vehicle. There was not a hint of hesitation or delay throughout the process. Their swift actions left Captain Li and the others momentarily dazed.
As the armored vehicle sped away, their expressions were complex. Was this the true face of Mr. Ye Lai, who had defended Signal Point? He did not take a moment to bask in his achievement of holding Signal Point; instead, he was already on his way to the next mission at Signal Point.
