Signal Point had endured a brutal defense.
Although Ena had dispatched reinforcements, there were still only four members of the Sequence Team present, making the struggle to hold the line exceedingly difficult. The horror belonging to humanity was palpable at this moment.
"Damn it."
The one who spoke was the Captain of Team Seven, who was in charge of the defense at Signal Point. He had witnessed the scream come from a member of the Eleventh Squad.
His gaze fell upon that member, who had just killed an Acupoint, but due to exhaustion from the fierce battle, he failed to notice two more Acupoint approaching from behind. They caught him from both sides and tore him apart mercilessly.
Blood splattered like water across the tree trunks, ground, and blades of grass, painting the area anew in crimson.
"Captain, how long until reinforcements arrive?"
Seeing another comrade fall, the others at Signal Point grew anxious.
"Is the Commander still not done handling things at Signal Point? If we don’t get support soon, our defenses will collapse."
"Damn it, here they come again."
Before they could finish their thoughts, a roar echoed from afar—more Acupoint were approaching.
"The Commander needs a bit more time. Don’t panic; Ena just informed me that reinforcements are on their way and will be here shortly," said the Captain of Team Seven.
As soon as he finished speaking, the rumble of an armored vehicle's engine echoed from the distance.
He turned to look, and his face lit up with surprise.
"Look! Isn’t that our reinforcements? Everyone hold on!"
Like a shot of adrenaline, excitement surged through them as they saw the armored vehicle driving toward them. Each person felt a rush of hope.
Meanwhile, there was movement coming from the direction of the armored vehicle as well.
The armored vehicle sped towards them, and before it even arrived, the hatch on top swung open. Yelai leaped out and landed on the roof of the vehicle.
Ahead of him lay Signal Point, where dozens of Sequencers were engaged in fierce combat with numerous Acupoints. The scene was chaotic, but Yelai felt no fear; instead, he was filled with exhilaration. The more Acupoints there were, the more fear he could absorb.
Without waiting for the armored vehicle to come to a complete stop, Yelai shouted into the cabin, "Assist me in dealing with the Acupoints! Do not engage with the people or the Acupoints; focus solely on attacking the Dead Points of the Acupoints!"
As soon as he issued his command, Yelai launched himself like an arrow from the speeding armored vehicle, diving into Signal Point. "Everyone, I’m here to help you!"
Whoosh!
As his words left his mouth, a shadow shot out from inside the vehicle, moving as fast as lightning. It followed closely behind Yelai into Signal Point, joining him in the assault against the Acupoints.
The others barely had time to register what had happened. When they finally caught sight of the shadow, they were stunned.
A dog? A Husky?
Before their astonishment could fade, another wave of shock hit them. The armored vehicle came to a halt, yet not a single person emerged from it.
Where is everyone? Just one person?
The faces of the Sequence Team twitched as they turned to look at the Captain of Team Seven. Their expressions were surprisingly unified, silently questioning him: Captain? Are you kidding me? We called for support and only one person shows up?
But this bewilderment did not linger for long.
Boom!
The thunderous sound echoed alongside the cries of the Acupoint, leaving them no time to be stunned as they instinctively turned to look.
In the next moment, they suddenly understood why only one person had come for support—because this individual was worth a thousand troops.
Yelai charged into the midst of the Acupoint like a wolf among sheep.
At that instant, a man and a dog burst into the crowd of Acupoint, unleashing a slaughter fueled by Madness.
Before everyone's eyes, the dog clamped down on one of the Acupoint and, with an Unknown Horror's biting force, flung it toward Yelai. Yelai landed a precise punch on the Acupoint's Dead Point.
