Time ticked away.
Minutes passed.
Aside from the increasing speed, nothing else changed.
Minutes continued to pass.
The speed kept accelerating, and aside from that, there was a change, but it was not the carousel that was changing.
There stood the Female Sequence Holder, alongside an anomalous entity with a grotesque, non-human form, emitting sounds reminiscent of vomiting, as murky liquid flowed from the circular openings on its back.
It vomited?
Yelai and the Female Sequence Holder exchanged glances, deducing from the retching sounds that this anomalous entity could no longer endure the spinning and had become dizzy.
"Hold on," said the Female Sequence Holder.
It was still not yet a full minute; it was hard to say whether it could last another minute. The balance of power in this three-way standoff could easily shift.
The anomalous entity was spewing messily but managed to keep itself from flying out.
Time approached the minute mark.
Just one more minute! If they could get through this, they would be done with the carousel.
At that moment, as the anomalous entity, Yelai, and the Female Sequence Holder all shared this thought, an unexpected change occurred.
Suddenly, several neighs of horses echoed without warning near where Yelai and the other guests were gathered.
Instantly, aside from the dizzy and retching anomalous entity, all other guests remained alert and turned their attention to the carousel before them.
Their pupils constricted in an instant.
Unbeknownst to them, the carousel had come to life.
At that moment, the carousel they were holding turned its head to gaze at Yelai and the others seated upon it, and without any warning, it opened its mouth to bite at them.
The chilling cry of the Anomalous Entity echoed through the air. As Yelai and the others showcased their abilities to evade the Carousel's vicious bites, they witnessed the earlier vomited Anomalous Entity caught off guard, falling prey to the Carousel's open jaws.
Though it managed to avoid a fatal blow, it was still bitten in a certain part of its body. However, the gruesome image of flesh being torn apart did not materialize. Instead, another horrifying scene unfolded. The bitten part of the Anomalous Entity began to spin bizarrely, flesh and skin whirling at high speed, resembling a carousel in motion.
This rapid rotation pulled along the surrounding blood, flesh, and skin. At this rate, the entire body of the Anomalous Entity would be drawn into this whirlwind, ultimately being shredded to pieces.
With a roar, the Anomalous Entity realized the severity of its situation and made a desperate choice; it severed the spinning part of its body with a swift motion.
With a thud, that bitten, rotating section fell onto the carousel, causing the spinning to finally cease. The precarious balance of power was disrupted by this dizzy and vomiting Anomalous Entity, but the outcome was far from what the onlookers had anticipated.
Meanwhile, the Carousel continued its relentless assault. One Carousel remained on the ride, screeching as it turned wildly to bite at the guests seated upon it.
In truth, none of the attractions at Sequence Amusement Park were easy to navigate. The carousel was no exception. They ultimately could not pass through that final minute with ease; life and death loomed over them.
The earlier experience with the Anomalous Entity left Yelai and his companions shaken but also aware of the dangers that lay in that last minute. They could not afford to be bitten by the Carousel; otherwise, death awaited them!
Unfortunately, they had no time to thank the Anomalous Entity for its vomiting; without its nausea, they would never have been bitten, and they would not have discovered the danger of the Carousel.
As the Carousel attacked, they could only focus on defending themselves. Yelai did not hesitate to cast Fear Plant on the Black Carousel Horse that was sitting there.
Hiss!
As the Black Carousel Horse let out a whinny, it continued to attack Yelai, trying to bite the hand that was wrapped around its neck.
Hmm?
The Fear Plant had no effect?
No, that wasn't right.
