It is well known that a normal day consists of hours, with the night lasting for hours. The typical duration of human sleep during the night is hours. This also corresponds to the nighttime plunder time for visitors at Sequence Amusement Park with their Plunder Sequence Amusement Park Cards.
For instance, it has been hours since the Nightmare Amusement Park closed, and the end of the night is approaching. Traditionally, each night, one-third of the visitors who venture out during the night are killed. However, this time is different.
The number of deaths has drastically increased. Those who killed one-third of the visitors have mostly been slain themselves, leading to a surge in fatalities, with no one knowing who their assailants were; they never even saw their faces. Only a very small portion managed to survive. These survivors are all exceptional individuals among the Sequence and Anomalous Entities.
According to the definition by Old Visitors, these individuals are tough nuts to crack; none of them are easy prey. In the Human Realm, they would be top-tier Captain-Level Sequences in various Safe Zones, with a minimum strength of Rank Eight.
Yet even with their formidable abilities, they remain unaware of who attacked them.
At this moment, Yelai and a Tongue Sequence Creature have just killed another visitor, seizing their Amusement Park Card along with any cards taken from others. After stowing away the Amusement Park Cards, Yelai listened to the now quiet Sequence Amusement Park; it seemed no visitors dared to linger outside in the night.
He glanced at his watch and then gestured to the Tongue Sequence Creature, pointing towards the hotel direction—his meaning was clear.
"Let’s go; it’s getting late. Time to head back to the hotel."
The Tongue Sequence Creature's mouth, filled with sharp teeth, twisted into what seemed like a smile of agreement as it was pulled back to the hotel by Yelai.
On the way back, the Tongue Sequence Creature glanced at the small bag at Yelai's waist, which contained the trophy from the evening. Its large, penetrating eyes began to dart around with curiosity. This was the perfect opportunity; if it could just kill Yelai right here, not only would it get to keep the trophy all to itself, but it would also obtain the coveted Eyeballs of Yelai.
However, as soon as that thought crossed its mind, memories of Yelai's various escapades in thievery flooded its brain. This human was formidable—not just in strength but also in cunning. Without Yelai's presence, even possessing these Eyeballs wouldn't have led to such a bountiful harvest.
Caught between the desire to kill Yelai and the vivid recollections of their previous encounters, the Tongue Sequence Creature ultimately chose not to act.
Time passed quickly.
At the Sequence Amusement Park, in Yelai's hotel room, he closed the door behind him. Only then did he remove the Eyeballs from his mouth and direct his gaze toward the Tongue Sequence Creature standing in the room.
In his line of sight, the Tongue Sequence Creature was fixated on the small bag on the table that held the trophy, clearly drooling over its contents.
Seeing this, Yelai smiled slowly. "You’re quite well-behaved," he remarked.
Throughout their journey back to the hotel, it wasn't just the Tongue Sequence Creature that had been harboring thoughts of betrayal; Yelai had been equally wary of it. From their outing to their return, he remained vigilant against any harmful actions from the creature. If it dared to make a move, he would be ready to respond in an instant.
