In the lobby, about ten Sequencers were sitting on the public sofa discussing matters.
"Have you heard?" one Light Sequence User said, his eyes darting around. "Last night, a lot of tourists died."
Before he could finish his sentence, a man leaning against the sofa, smoking a cigar, interrupted him. "What's so surprising about that? Are you new here? Don't you know that every night at the Sequence Amusement Park, quite a few people end up dead?"
Just as he was about to explain about the Dark Night Sequence Amusement Park, the Light Sequence User cut him off.
"I know it's the Dark Night Sequence Amusement Park, but this time there were a lot of deaths. According to some Sequencers who went out this morning, they found at least thirty bodies of tourists lying in the amusement park."
"So many?" The Cigar-Smoking Man straightened up, his expression turning to one of surprise. The other Sequencers were also drawn into the conversation.
"Wow, that's double what we've seen before! What happened? How could so many die? Did a lot of tourists leave their hotels last night?"
Someone speculated, recalling past experiences where high death tolls at the Dark Night Sequence Amusement Park usually indicated something unusual had occurred.
As they debated and speculated, someone dismissed their theories. A Veteran Tourist approached with two companions, and one of them spoke up.
"It's not what you think," said the companion with a sour expression. "The Sequence Amusement Park has been around for a long time; no large number of tourists would choose to go out at night unless there was a very powerful predator present."
Predators also had their own circles. Among the Sequencers present was someone who was keen on robbing Amusement Park Cards. He didn't recognize the companion but did recognize the Veteran Tourist beside him.
He was an old hand at this game.
It is said that he has been in the Sequence Amusement Park for over twenty days, and from the very first day, he engaged in the act of robbing others of their Sequence Amusement Park Cards, earning a notorious reputation.
At this moment, while conversing with the Sequencer nearby, the Old Visitor was not idle. Amidst the surprised gazes of those around, he walked towards a secluded corner of the lounge area where a Sequencer sat, exuding an aura that suggested others should keep their distance. This was also a formidable Sequencer—he held the rank of Zone Protector Captain in the human world.
"I heard you went out last night," the Old Visitor asked directly.
The Zone Protector Captain lifted his eyelids slightly, his dead fish-like eyes reflecting the face of the Old Visitor. They seemed to be somewhat familiar with each other.
The Captain nodded slightly in acknowledgment and then countered with a question, "Did you go out too?"
"Yes," the Old Visitor admitted openly, his gaze falling on the empty left sleeve of the Captain.
"I just heard that Ao Xian died. I thought you all perished last night as well. It seems not; did you lose your arm last night?"
"Yes." The Captain covered his injured arm, his dead fish eyes deepening with gravity. "I lost an arm but managed to survive."
At this point, he looked at the seemingly unharmed Old Visitor. "You managed to survive that Black Night Reaper as well? It seems you possess more skill than I had anticipated; you came out unscathed."
"Black Night Reaper? Is that raider a person?" The Old Visitor asked, explaining further, "I didn't encounter that Unknown Horror raider last night; I was rather lucky. The target they were after was already taken care of before I could engage, almost right in front of me."
"So I never faced that Black Night Reaper."
